本発明は呼吸用保護具に使用する多角形フィルタに関する。

呼吸用保護具は、防塵マスク、防毒マスクのように浮遊粉塵や有毒ガスの人体に有害な環境下での作業に際して着用され、作業者が有害な粉塵やガスを吸い込まないように工夫されている。そして、これに使用されるフィルタは、このような有害な環境下において、清浄な空気の呼吸を保証するために設けられており、濾紙や濾布等のろ過材を折り畳んで作られている。このフィルタはケース内に組み込まれた状態で使用するものと、ケースに入っていない状態のまま使用するものとがある。ケース内に入っていないものはフィルタ単体のまま使用するものであり、それ自体では強度が弱く、変形などを起こしやすく、また有効濾過面積の拡大にも限度があった。従って、フィルタをケース内に組み込んで使用する場合が多い。

本発明者は、上記の問題点を解決するために、接着剤等を使用せずにフィルタとケースが一定間隔になるようにフィルタを固定すると共にフィルタを円形に切断することのない方法について種々検討した結果、本発明を完成したもので、本発明の目的は接着剤を使用せずに、フィルタとケースが一定間隔になるようにフィルタを固定させシーリング剤の注入がたやすく、また、ケースに合うようにフィルタを円形に切断することなく、製造工程が容易な多角形フィルタを提供することを目的とする。

【課題を解決するための手段】
本願発明の要旨は、円形ケースと、該ケース内に収納したフィルタとよりなる呼吸保護具用多角形フィルタであって、前記多角形フィルタの頂点が円形ケースの内周面に接するようにフィルタを多角形に切断して円形ケース内に収納し、接着剤を使用することなく固定させ、円形ケース内周面とフィルタの側面との隙間にシーリング剤を注入して一体としたことを特徴とする呼吸保護具用多角形フィルタである。
即ち、本発明はフィルタを円形のケースに入れて側面をシールする場合、多角形の頂点がケースの内周面に接するようにフィルタをあらかじめ多角形に加工したものを使用し、これをケース内に入れると、多角形に加工されたフィルタの頂点はケースの内周面に接するので、フィルタはケースの中心に固定される。そして、円形のケースと多角形の辺の隙間ができるので、そこにシーリング剤を流し込み、シールされる。

【発明の実施の形態】
本発明について詳細に述べる。
本発明における呼吸用保護具とは、作業者が有害な粉塵を吸い込まないように工夫された防塵マスクをいい、また、これに使用するフィルタはこのような有害な環境下において、清浄な空気の呼吸を保証するために設けられたろ紙等をいう。 そして、本発明はこのフィルタを多角形に切断する。多角形としては特に限定はなく、通常四角形〜多角形の何れでもよいが、作業性及びケースの内周面に接して固定しやすさから八角形が好ましい。その際、多角形の頂点がケースの内周面に接するように切断する。ケース内周面に接するとは全ての多角形の頂点がケース内周面に接する必要は無く要はフィルタが固定できればよいのである。

本発明の実施例として図面をもって具体的に説明する。
図1はろ過材を折り畳んだフィルタを示す。このフィルタを、例えば隅部を切断して八角形に加工する(図2参照)。次いでこの八角形フィルタを円形ケースに入れる(図3参照)。その際、円形ケースの内周面に、フィルタの頂点が接する様にすることでフィルタは固定される。しかる後、円形のケースと、八角形の辺の間にできる隙間に、シーリング剤をかたよりなく流し込み、フィルタの側面をシールする(図4参照)。

以上述べたように、本発明はろ過材に使用するフィルタを、あらかじめ多角形に加工しておくことで、フィルタを接着剤などで固定せずに、容易にフィルタをシールすることができ、シーリング剤を注入するためにケースを回転させても、フィルタをケースの中心に固定することが出来た。また、円形のフィルタを使用するより、少ないフィルタの使用量で、同性能のフィルタを得ることができた。
