Description
The present invention relates to an apparatus for supplying ink to a head in an ink jet printer.
(特許文献1参照) Conventionally, when ink is ejected from an ink jet head in an industrial ink jet printer or the like, since the viscosity decreases when the ink is heated, the ink is heated to keep the viscosity constant and low viscosity. For example, attempts have been made to enable stable ejection of ink having high viscosity. Then, the ink-jet head can be heated by heating the ink-jet head itself with a warming fluid or electric heater using hot water, and an ink-jet head with a hot water channel has been proposed. (See Patent Document 1)
First, the piezo actuator of the inkjet head generates heat each time the ejection operation is repeated. If the temperature of the inkjet head itself rises above the temperature of the hot water due to the influence, the heat generated by the inkjet head moves to the hot water side. The replacement occurs, which has the effect of cooling the inkjet head. On the other hand, in the case of an electric heater, if the operation of the electric heater is continued, the ink-jet head that rises in temperature is further heated, and there is a drawback that temperature management is difficult. For this reason, the method of heating the inkjet head with warm water is convenient for maintaining the inkjet head at a constant temperature.
Next, in the ink jet head, a large amount of heat is generated particularly in the discharge portion by the discharge operation of the above-described piazo actuator, and heat is not generated in other portions, resulting in temperature unevenness, and the end of the ink jet head where heat easily escapes to the outside air. The temperature is higher at the center of the ink jet head than at the part, and temperature unevenness also occurs at this point. Although such temperature unevenness is likely to occur depending on the location, there is an advantage that warm water can be supplied to the ink jet head in a planar shape and temperature unevenness can be eliminated.
Furthermore, considering the volume, flow rate, specific gravity, and thermal conductivity of the hot water, heat water that has a larger heat capacity than that of an electric heater such as an electric heater (sheet heater) and a large amount of heat in a separate water heater (chiller) is used. For example, even when a hot water heater smaller than the electric heater is attached to the inkjet head, there is an advantage that the target temperature can be reached quickly.
By the way, in general, the saturation value of a gas that can be dissolved in a liquid decreases as the temperature of the liquid increases. For example, in the case of water, the saturated dissolved air at 20 ° C. is 23.6 ppm, and at 40 ° C., it decreases to 17.8 ppm.
This tendency is the same for UV curable ink and other solutions. When the temperature is suddenly increased, dissolved gas is generated as fine bubbles in the liquid. When the ink in such a state is ejected from the ink jet head, the non-ejection rate is increased, and there is a problem that the above non-ejection rate occurs when the ink jet head is heated by the above-described hot water. is there.
FIG. 1 shows data obtained by actually measuring a non-ejection rate indicating non-ejection ratio when ink saturated with air at 25 ° C. is passed through an inkjet head heated at 45 ° C. with warm water to UV curable inkjet ink. It is shown as a graph. When the dissolved gas is nitrogen (N 2 ), air (Air), and oxygen (O 2 ), the non-ejection rate is different. It is clear that the non-ejection rate is increased by being accumulated in the nozzle portion of the inkjet head, and the ejection becomes unstable. (Bubbling conditions for obtaining the data shown in FIG. 1 were a discharge pressure of 20 kPa and a discharge time of 1 second per print target.)
Naturally, it is effective to store the deaerated ink in a tank that sends ink to the ink jet head side, but it is in contact with the tube in the path for sending ink from the tank to the ink jet head side, the nozzle part of the ink jet head, and the air in the tank. It cannot be prevented that the gas enters from the joint in the portion or path and the ink sucks the gas that has entered.
Therefore, in view of the above circumstances, the present invention takes advantage of the fact that the ink can be heated to a low viscosity to stably discharge from the ink jet head, and the ink containing minute bubbles is heated. An object of the present invention is to prevent the ink jet head from reaching the ink jet head, and to allow the ink jet head to perform ejection without increasing the non-ejection rate.
The present invention has been made in view of the above problems, and includes a primary supply unit that sends out ink from a main ink tank, and a distributor that distributes and supplies ink from the primary supply unit to one or more inkjet heads.
Next, the present invention will be described in detail based on the embodiment shown in FIGS.
In the figure,
As shown in the figure, the
In the sub tank 7 in the
Further, the primary degassing means 6 holds the inside of the case body in a vacuum of about 3 to 6 kPa, and passes the ink through several thousand fine fluoropolymer hollow tubes arranged inside the case body. The gas that exists as minute bubbles inside is made to pass through the wall of the hollow tube through the vacuum part around the hollow tube, and is discharged. This utilizes the phenomenon that only gas passes through minute gaps. A vacuum pump that draws air in the case body is not shown.
In the
The secondary degassing means 13 has the same configuration as the primary degassing means 6.
Further, the
