Description
The present invention relates to an antenna that can be suitably used as a base station antenna used in a mobile communication system or the like, and more particularly to a polarization diversity antenna that can independently transmit and receive two orthogonal polarized waves. is there.
In mobile communication systems and the like, conventionally, a space diversity type antenna has been used as a base station antenna. However, this space diversity antenna has a drawback in that the shape of the upper part of the steel tower where the antenna elements are installed becomes large due to its structure. Therefore, recently, there has been a shift to a polarization diversity antenna that can simplify and reduce the size of base station equipment in the upper part of a steel tower.
Each antenna unit has a dipole element formed on one surface of a dielectric substrate and a tip portion connected to a feeding point portion of each element conductor of the dipole element, and the dipole element extends from the gap portion of the dipole element. A pair of ground conductors formed on one surface of the dielectric substrate in a form facing each other across a slit extending in a direction perpendicular to the element, and formed on the other surface of the dielectric substrate, the ground A feeder line conductor extending along the back portion of one of the conductors and then extending through the gap portion of the dipole element, and the dipole elements are combined in a crossing manner, One and the other are applied to horizontal polarization and vertical polarization, respectively.
The conventional polarization diversity antenna has a structure in which the feed line conductors of the first and second antenna units extend linearly in a direction perpendicular to the dipole element and are close to each other. The coupling between the feed line conductors due to radiation or the like (consisting of the feed line conductor and the ground conductor facing each other) becomes large, and the polarization coupling amount characteristic is deteriorated. Furthermore, the above structure also affects the VSWR (standing wave ratio), which makes it difficult to widen the ratio band.
When used as a mobile communication base station antenna, good inter-polarization coupling characteristics and broadband characteristics are required. Therefore, there is a demand for a polarization diversity antenna that has better polarization-to-polarization coupling amount characteristics and broadband characteristics than conventional ones.
In view of such circumstances, an object of the present invention is to provide a polarization diversity antenna capable of realizing both a good inter-polarization coupling amount characteristic and a wide band characteristic.
The present invention is formed on one surface of a dielectric substrate, a dipole element having a length of about 1 / 2λ (λ is the wavelength of the center frequency of the used frequency band) formed on one surface of the dielectric substrate, The leading end of each dipole element is connected to the feeding point of each element conductor, and a slit having a length of about 1 / 4λ extending in a direction perpendicular to the dipole element from the gap portion of the dipole element is sandwiched. A pair of opposing ground conductors and formed on the other surface of the dielectric substrate, extending along the back of one of the ground conductors, and then extending through the gap of the dipole element comprising a feed line conductor, respectively, have a first, second antenna unit comprising constituting the balun pair of ground conductor and by said feed line conductor, said these antenna units Iporu elements mutually are polarization diversity antenna constructed by combining a form crossing.
The slit is formed such that a second width at a portion closer to the gap portion side than the base portion is larger than a first width at a base portion of the pair of ground conductors, The electrical length of the short stub composed of the ground conductor and the electrical length of the open stub composed of the feeder line conductor are sized so that the dipole element resonates at two frequencies sandwiching the center frequency of the used frequency band. It is characterized by setting.
The width of the gap portion of the dipole element may be set to be the same as the second width of the slit.
Further, the dipole elements of the first and second antenna units may be formed by being bent into an umbrella shape. According to this configuration, since the beam width of the antenna element itself is widened, a polarization diversity antenna having a large beam width in a horizontal plane can be realized.
If necessary, each of the dipole elements of the first and second antenna units can be provided with a parasitic element in a form separated by a predetermined distance in the beam projection direction. Is obtained. The parasitic elements may be integrally formed so as to form a cross shape.
The dipole elements of the first and second antenna units may be bent into an umbrella shape. According to this configuration, since the beam width of the antenna element itself is widened, a polarization diversity antenna having a large beam width in a horizontal plane can be realized.
It is also possible to configure a polarization diversity antenna as an array antenna by arranging the above polarization diversity antennas in parallel.
Furthermore, the polarization diversity antenna can be provided with a reflector on the back.
According to the present invention, the width of the slit is set to be larger than the first width at the base portion of the pair of ground conductors so that the second width at the portion closer to the gap portion side than the base portion is larger. Is formed. Therefore, the distance between the feed line conductors of the first and second antenna units is expanded to suppress the influence between the feed line conductors, and as a result, the coupling amount characteristic between the polarized waves is improved.
Further, in the present invention, the feed system is configured by the short stub by the ground conductor and the open stub by the feed line conductor, but since the width of the slit is changed as described above, the short stub and the open stub Increases electrical length. This means that the VSWR can be widened in consideration of the electrical length of both stubs. Therefore, in the present invention, the electrical lengths of the short stub and the open stub are set so that the dipole element resonates at two frequencies sandwiching the center frequency of the used frequency band. As a result, the VSWR is broadened and the practicality as a mobile communication base station antenna is improved.
Hereinafter, embodiments of the present invention will be described in detail with reference to the drawings.
FIG. 1 is a perspective view showing a first embodiment of a polarization diversity antenna according to the present invention.
This polarization diversity antenna A1 is configured by combining the first antenna unit 10-1 and the second antenna unit 20-1.
As shown in FIG. 2, the first antenna unit 10-1 forms a

The second antenna unit 20-1 has a configuration according to the first antenna unit 10-1. Therefore, the reference numeral attached to the second antenna unit 20-1 is associated with the reference numeral attached to the first antenna unit 10-1. In other words, only the tenth digit is changed.
The second antenna unit 20-1 is a first antenna in that a substantially tapered cutout is formed in the

The
The polarization diversity antenna A1 of the present embodiment having the above-described configuration is disposed on a feeding dielectric substrate (not shown). Then, the base ends of the
Center conductors of the first and second coaxial feed lines are connected to the first and second feed line conductors provided on the feed dielectric substrate, respectively, and are provided on the feed dielectric substrate. The outer conductors of the first and second coaxial feed lines are connected to the ground conductor.
Note that the dielectric substrate for feeding is omitted, and the outer conductor and the center conductor of the first coaxial feeder are directly connected to the
Next, the operation of the polarization diversity antenna A1 according to this embodiment will be described. Here, the
The dipole element 12 (22) is supplied with power through the feed line conductor 14 (24) traversing the
By the way, the
On the other hand, the feeding system of the antenna unit 10-1 (20-1) includes a short stub formed by the ground
Therefore, in the present embodiment, the short stub and the open stub are used so that the dipole element 12 (22) resonates at two frequencies f a and f b (see FIGS. 5 and 6) sandwiching the center frequency f 0 of the use frequency band. The electrical length of VSWR is set to widen the band of VSWR.
The ratio of the electrical length of the short stub and the open stub can be changed by adjusting the length of the tip end portion of the electric wire conductor 14 (24) extending from the
The polarization diversity antenna A1 can be provided with a reflector (not shown) on the back as necessary.

FIGS. 5 and 6 illustrate the first antenna unit 10 and the second antenna unit 10 in the antenna A1, respectively. VSWR (standing wave ratio characteristic) of the antenna unit 20 is illustrated.
These characteristics are those when the center frequency f 0 of the used frequency band is 2 GHz. The frequencies f 1 and f 2 in FIG. 4 are 1.621 GHz and 2.240 GHz, respectively, the frequencies f 1 and f 2 in FIG. 5 are 1.656 GHz and 2.293 GHz, respectively, and the frequencies f 1 and f in FIG. 2 is 1.673 GHz and 2.294 GHz, respectively.
As shown in FIG. 4, according to the polarization diversity antenna A1 according to the present embodiment, the amount of coupling between polarizations can be maintained at -30 dB or less over a 32% ratio band.
Also, as shown in FIGS. 5 and 6, according to the polarization diversity antenna A1 according to the present embodiment, the band ratio of the first antenna unit 10 and the second antenna unit 20 is 32% in VSWR 1.5. And 31% can be realized respectively. That is, the VSWR can be widened.
As described above, the polarization diversity antenna A1 according to the present embodiment can obtain a good inter-polarization coupling amount characteristic and a wide band characteristic, and is thus optimal as a base station antenna for mobile communication.

Similarly to the polarization diversity antenna according to the first embodiment, the polarization diversity antenna A2 of this embodiment can also obtain good inter-polarization coupling amount characteristics and VSWR characteristics.

The polarization diversity antenna having the array configuration can of course be configured using the polarization diversity antenna A2 shown in FIG. 7 or the polarization diversity antenna A3 shown in FIG.
The present invention is not limited to the above embodiments, and includes various modifications.
That is, the feed line conductor 14 (24) in the polarization diversity antenna according to each of the above embodiments extends to the back of the
In addition, the polarization diversity antenna according to each of the above embodiments can be used in combination with a parasitic element. FIG. 14 shows a state where the cross-shaped
The cross-shaped
