Description
ネガ型の画像形成可能な組成物は、光熱変換材料、酸生成剤、酸活性化可能な架橋剤、及び高分子結合剤を含んで成ることができる。ネガ型の画像形成可能な組成物の慣用的な成分である他の成分も存在することができる。これらの組成物は、例えば、Haley、米国特許第5,372,907号;Nguyen、米国特許第5,919,601号;Kobayashi、米国特許第5,965,319号;及びBusman、米国特許第5,763,134号に開示されている。

(式中、Rは、−H又は−CH3であり;Xは、二価の結合基であり;Yは、置換又は無置換二価芳香族基であり;Zは、−OH、−COOH、又は−SO2NH2である)。
CH2=C(CH3)−CO2−CH2CH2−NH−CO−NH−p−C6H4−Z
(式中、Zは、−OH、−COOH、又は−SO2NH2であり、−OHであることが好ましい)である。
本発明の画像形成可能要素は、特に平版印刷版前駆体として特に有用である。一度、画像形成可能要素を画像形成して現像処理すれば、湿し水及び次いで平版用インキをその表面上に塗布することによって印刷を行うことができる。画像形成された領域、すなわち、画像化及び現像プロセスによって暴露された親水性基体の表面によって湿し水が受け入れられ、画像形成されてない領域、すなわち、現像プロセスによって除去されない画像形成可能層の領域によってインキが受け入れられる。次いで、インキはオフセット印刷ブランケットにより直接あるいは間接的に好適な受け取り材料(布、紙、金属、ガラス、又はプラスチックなど)に移り、所望の画像の刷りを該画像上に与える。
粒子A ケイ酸塩コーティング50%メタクリル酸メチル/50%エチレングリコールジメタクリレートポリマー粒子;8μm
粒子B ケイ酸塩コーティング70%スチレン/30%ジビニルベンゼンポリマー粒子;6μm
m−クレゾールノボラック樹脂 精製N−13ノボラック樹脂;100%m−クレゾール;MW13,000(イーストマン・コダック社、ロチェスター、ニューヨーク、米国)
D11 エタナミニウム、N−[4−[[4−(ジエチルアミノ)フェニル][4−(エチルアミノ)−1−ナフタレニル]メチレン]−2,5−シクロヘキサジエン−1−イリデン]−N−エチル−、5−ベンゾイル−4−ヒドロキシ−2−メトキシベンゼンスルホン酸(1:1)との塩;着色染料(以下の構造を参照のこと)、青色染料(PCAS社(PCAS Corp)、ロンジュモー、フランス)
DC−190 シリコーン界面活性剤(ダウ・コーニング社(Dow Corning))
IR染料A 赤外吸収化合物;IR染料A(λmax=830nm);(上記の構造を参照のこと)
IR染料D 赤外吸収化合物(以下の構造を参照のこと)
メチル・セロソルブ(METHYL CELLOSOLVE)(商標)2−メトキシエタノール(ダウ社(Dow)、ミッドランド、ミシガン州、米国)
MB20X−5 ポリ(メタクリル酸メチル−co−1,4−ジビニルベンゼン;5μm(積水化成品工業株式会社、大阪、日本)
レゾール樹脂 ZF−7234(大日本インキ化学工業株式会社、東京、日本)
BX−6 架橋ポリスチレン;6μm(積水化成品工業株式会社、大阪、日本)
ケイ酸塩コーティング粒子A及び粒子Bは、Sterman、米国特許第5,288,598号、及びSmith、米国特許第3,578,577号に記載される方法によって調製することができる。
Claims (5)
- 基体及び該基体上の画像形成可能層を含む画像形成可能要素であって、
前記画像形成可能層が、画像形成可能な組成物及び該画像形成可能層の重量に基づいて0.1wt%〜2wt%のケイ酸塩コーティングポリマー粒子を含有し、
前記ケイ酸塩コーティングポリマー粒子が、1μm〜20μmの直径を有し、そして
前記画像形成可能要素が、光熱変換材料を含有する、画像形成可能要素。 - 前記画像形成可能層が、該画像形成可能層の厚さの3〜6倍の間の直径を有するケイ酸塩コーティングポリマー粒子を1mm2あたり10個〜500個有する、請求項1に記載の画像形成可能要素。
- 前記ケイ酸塩コーティングポリマー粒子が、3μm〜10μmの直径を有する、請求項1又は2に記載の画像形成可能要素。
- 請求項1〜3のいずれか一項に記載の画像形成可能要素を、フォトマスクを使用せずに画像形成し、前記画像形成可能要素中に画像形成された領域及び相補的に画像形成されてない領域を形成する工程;及び
前記画像形成可能要素を現像液で現像し、前記画像形成された領域又は前記画像形成されてない領域のいずれかを除去する工程を含む、画像形成方法。 - スタックが、20及び1000個の間の請求項1〜3のいずれか一項に記載の画像形成可能要素を含み、各画像形成可能要素の前記画像形成可能層が、前記スタック中の連続する各画像形成可能要素の前記基体と直接接している、画像形成可能要素のスタック。
