Description
この発明は以上のような問題点を解決する為になされたものであり、少ない試料液でも確実にキャピラリに採取できる構造のバイオセンサを提供することを目的とする。
図1は本発明の一実施の形態におけるバイオセンサの分解斜視図及び断面図である。図1において、1は第1の絶縁性基板であり、この第1の絶縁性基板1上には、電気伝導性物質からなる測定電極2、対極3、ならびに検知電極4が形成されている。本実施の形態1に記載されるバイオセンサは、上記の各電極のリード10,11,12と接続する端子を持つ測定機(図示せず)に挿入した状態で使用し、測定は測定電極2と対極3間の電気的特性の変化を検知することで検体試料の特性を分析するものである。なお、ここでいう検知電極4は、検体量の不足を検知する為の電極として機能するものであるが、参照電極あるいは対電極の一部として用いることも可能である。
以上のように本実施の形態1によれば、試料液を供給中に検体供給口13が塞がった場合でも、補助検体供給口14から試料液が速やかに供給され、正確且つ容易にキャピラリ7内に試料液を吸引させることができる。
図5は、本発明の一実施の形態におけるバイオセンサの分解斜視図及び断面図である。図5において、補助検体供給口14は第1の絶縁性基板1と第2の絶縁性基板8の両方に設けられている。二つの絶縁性基板それぞれに補助検体供給口14を設けることで、検体が偏った角度から点着された場合でも、確実に検体をスペーサ内部に吸引することが可能である。補助検体供給口は実施の形態1と同様、それぞれ複数個設けても良好な効果を得ることができる。形状も円、楕円、線、長方形、三角形など、限定しない。
図6は、本発明の一実施の形態におけるバイオセンサの分解斜視図及び断面図である。図6において、キャピラリ7が先端付近で分岐し検体供給口13と補助検体供給口14が設けられている。スペーサ6に検体供給口を2つ設けることで、実施の形態1と実施の形態2と同様の効果が得られ、さらに、検体供給口、補助検体供給口を一度にスペーサ6に加工できることから、センサ作製の際の加工数を減少させることが可能である。
また、補助検体吸引口の形が長方形のもの(図3に示す)、絶縁基板1、絶縁基板2両方の上に補助検体供給口を設けたもの(図5に示す)、絶縁基板1上に補助検体供給口を設けたもの、キャピラリがY字型のもの(図6に示す)については、良好な結果を得ることができた。

Claims (10)
- 第1の絶縁性基板と第2の絶縁性基板とを貼り合せてなり、前記両基板の一方端面にて開口し試料液が点着される検体供給口と、前記検体供給口と連通し前記点着された試料液が導入されるキャピラリと、前記キャピラリの他方端部に位置する前記キャピラリの外気と連通する空気孔とを有するバイオセンサであって、
前記キャピラリと連通し前記点着された試料液が前記キャピラリへ導入される補助検体供給口が、前記検体供給口の近傍に、少なくとも1つ以上設けられており、
前記補助検体供給口は、前記検体供給口との間に、前記絶縁性基板の一部を残すようにして、前記第1の絶縁性基板または第2の絶縁性基板を貫通して形成されてなるものであることを特徴とするバイオセンサ。 - 前記補助検体供給口を、第1および第2の絶縁性基板のいずれにも形成したことを特徴とする請求項1に記載のバイオセンサ。
- 前記1つ以上の補助検体供給口の開口面積の合計が少なくとも0.01mm2〜3mm2以下であることを特徴とする請求項1に記載のバイオセンサ。
- 前記検体供給口と補助検体供給口との距離が0.05〜5mmであることを特徴とする請求項1に記載のバイオセンサ。
- 前記補助検体供給口のための貫通孔がレーザーを用いて作製されていることを特徴とする請求項1に記載のバイオセンサ。
- 前記キャピラリに面する、前記第1または第2の絶縁性基板の表面の少なくとも一部に、界面活性処理が施されていることを特徴とする請求項1に記載のバイオセンサ。
- 前記キャピラリに面する第1または第2の絶縁性基板の表面に、試料液中の特定物質を電気化学的に分析するための電極と試薬層とを設けたことを特徴とする請求項1に記載のバイオセンサ。
- 前記検体供給口の形成されたバイオセンサの端部の位置で、前記第1と第2の絶縁性基板を異なる形状にしたことを特徴とする請求項7に記載のバイオセンサ。
- 前記補助検体供給口に対向する絶縁性基板上には、電極または試薬層を形成していないことを特徴とする請求項8に記載のバイオセンサ。
- 前記補助検体供給口の内壁に界面活性処理を施していることを特徴とする請求項1に記載のバイオセンサ。
