BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
The present invention relates to an electronic component mounting method and apparatus for manufacturing an electronic circuit board by mounting a large number of electronic components on a circuit board, and a recording medium used therefor.
[0002]
[Prior art]
In recent years, the needs of electronic component mounting equipment have changed from rotary high-speed mounting machines to robot type mounting machines that can flexibly respond to various production forms from the viewpoint of area productivity and component compatibility. Yes. Under such circumstances, in order to further improve productivity, the number of suction nozzles mounted on one head has evolved from one to a plurality.
In this type of electronic component mounting apparatus, a plurality of circuits with the same pattern are provided on a single circuit board, a plurality of electronic components are mounted on the circuit board, and then the board is cut to form a plurality of small circuits with the same pattern. A so-called multi-sided substrate for manufacturing a substrate may be used. In addition, a heterogeneous mixed substrate in which a plurality of circuits having different patterns are provided on a single circuit board may be used.
As a conventional technique for mounting an electronic component on such a multi-sided substrate or a heterogeneous mixed substrate composed of a plurality of small substrates, for example, there are the following methods.
[0003]
(1) A step repeat method in which mounting on a specific component (hereinafter referred to as mounting step) is applied to all small board patterns, and after the mounting step is completed, the process proceeds to the next mounting step.
(2) A pattern repeat method in which all mounting steps are performed for one small substrate pattern, and after the completion of all mounting steps, the next small substrate pattern is mounted.
[0004]
Hereinafter, a component mounting method for the multi-sided board will be described.
FIG. 4 shows a mounting procedure using the conventional step repeat method. FIG. 38 sequentially shows the steps of mounting this mounting procedure using an electronic component mounting apparatus having four suction nozzles (nozzles No. 1 to 4).
As shown in FIG. 4 and FIG. 38, in this mounting procedure, the same components are mounted for each pattern in the order of the first pattern chip component C1, the second pattern C5, the third pattern C9,. When one mounting step is completed, the process proceeds to the next chip component C2, C6, C10 mounting step. This mounting step is performed for all parts. In addition, after the chip component C12 of the third pattern is mounted, the suction nozzle is changed from the S size for small components to the M size for medium components, and after mounting SOP1 to SOP3, the medium size components for M size to large size are replaced. Change to L size for parts.
[0005]
Next, a conventional pattern repeat mounting method will be described.
FIG. 39 shows a mounting procedure using the conventional pattern repeat method. Further, FIG. 40 sequentially shows the steps of mounting electronic components by the electronic component mounting apparatus having four mounting heads (head Nos. 1 to 4).
As shown in FIGS. 39 and 40, in this mounting procedure, after completing all mounting steps for the first pattern in the order of the chip components C1 to C4 of the first pattern, SOP1, and QFP1, the process proceeds to mounting of the second pattern. . Then, after completing the mounting of the second pattern, the process moves to mounting of the third pattern. The suction nozzles are exchanged after completion of mounting of one part type of each pattern, and in this case, three times for each pattern, a total of nine times (the last one is unnecessary). .
[0006]
[Problems to be solved by the invention]
However, the above mounting method causes the following problems. First, in the case of the step repeat method, when mounting components, only one of the four suction nozzles is always used, and component suction-component mounting is repeated for each component, resulting in a long mounting time. Become. For this reason, the advantage of the multiple head configuration having a plurality of suction nozzles is not utilized, and the mounting method is inefficient.
On the other hand, in the case of the pattern repeat method, the suction nozzles are frequently replaced, and each time a time-consuming nozzle replacement operation is performed many times, the mounting time becomes longer, resulting in an inefficient mounting method. Yes.
When such a mounting method is applied to a large-scale multi-sided board such as 50 to 200 sheets or a heterogeneous mixed board which has recently been increased, the mounting apparatus operates extremely redundantly. . With such an inefficient mounting method, it is difficult to improve the tact time, so a more efficient mounting method is desired.
[0007]
The mounting method is set and executed uniformly according to the information on the small board defined in the NC information that is information on the circuit board to be produced. Therefore, the mounting program for designating the mounting order of the electronic components to be mounted and the type of suction nozzle to be attached to each mounting head when mounting each electronic component is either the step repeat method or the pattern repeat method based on this NC information. It will be limited only to the method.
[0008]
The NC information is reconstructed from the component information of each small board unit and the offset value indicating the position on the circuit board with respect to each small board as information on a multi-sided board composed of a plurality of small boards or different kinds of mixed boards. The information (information such as the mounting order and the suction nozzle to be used) is only stored as one piece of board information. Therefore, for example, when any of the small boards is determined to be defective (NG) in the board processing step preceding the mounting process, when mounting components only on a good small board excluding the defective small board, Information regarding the defective small board is simply deleted and dealt with. The same applies when component mounting is performed only on a specific type of small board of different types of mixed boards. As a result, there may be a waste in the mounting order of the mounting program, resulting in a wasteful mounting operation.
[0009]
In addition, with the diversification of electronic circuit boards to be produced in recent years and the increased functionality of electronic component mounting devices to cope with them, the operation of mounting devices has become more complex. It is desired to be able to switch automatically so that it becomes a procedure.
[0010]
The present invention has been made in view of the above-described problems, and specifies the mounting order of electronic components on a multi-sided board or a heterogeneous mixed board, the suction order used when mounting the electronic parts, and the like. It is an object of the present invention to provide an electronic component mounting method and apparatus capable of improving mounting efficiency and shortening mounting time by setting an optimal mounting program, and a recording medium used therefor.
[0011]
In order to achieve the above object, the electronic component mounting method according to
[0012]
In this electronic component mounting method, a deployment method for rearranging the mounting order for each electronic component of the input NC information is selected for each circuit board, and the mounting order of the electronic components is rearranged by the selected deployment method, The development method can be changed according to the circuit board, and the recombination process can be performed using a more appropriate development method, so that the mounting efficiency can be improved. Therefore, the mounting operation for a multi-sided board or a heterogeneous mixed board becomes an efficient operation without waste, and the mounting time is shortened.
In addition, in this electronic component mounting method, the deployment method with the highest mounting efficiency can be automatically selected, so the optimum deployment method can be easily set without requiring the troublesome work of examining the mounting efficiency of each deployment method. The operability is improved and the mounting efficiency can be reliably improved.
[0013]
The electronic component mounting method according to
[0014]
In this electronic component mounting method, the number of times of replacement of the suction nozzle is minimized by replacing the suction nozzle after applying the mounting step of mounting all the electronic components that can be held by the same suction nozzle to the substrate. The mounting time of electronic components can be greatly shortened.
[0015]
The electronic component mounting method according to
[0016]
In this electronic component mounting method, the same type of electronic component is held by each suction nozzle, and the mounting step of continuously mounting each small substrate is applied to all the small substrates and then moved to the next mounting step. The operation of repeatedly picking up and mounting each component by the conventional pattern repeat method is changed to the operation of picking up and mounting multiple components at a time, and the mounting time of the electronic components can be greatly shortened.
[0020]
In this electronic component mounting method, by using the number of suction nozzle replacements as an index of mounting efficiency, a deployment method is selected that reduces the number of replacements for suction nozzle replacements that take a long time to operate, thereby shortening the mounting time.
[0022]
In this electronic component mounting method, by using the number of tasks as an index of mounting efficiency, it is possible to select a deployment method that requires a small number of operations until a component is held, recognized, and mounted. The number of recognition processes for confirming the suction state is minimized, and the mounting time can be shortened.
[0024]
In this electronic component mounting method, by using the execution time of the mounting program as an index of mounting efficiency, a deployment method with a short mounting time is selected more reliably.
[0043]
ClaimItem 4The electronic component mounting apparatus mounted on the circuit board includes a plurality of suction nozzles for detachably holding the electronic component, and the electronic device is mounted at a predetermined position on a circuit board composed of a plurality of small boards based on the input NC information. In an electronic component mounting apparatus for sequentially mounting components, a deployment method storage unit storing a plurality of deployment methods for rearranging the mounting order of each NC component in the NC information and a desired deployment method are selected from the plurality of deployment methods And mounting order setting means for rearranging the mounting order of the electronic components in the NC information based on the selected development method, and component mounting means for mounting the electronic components in the mounting order rearranged by the mounting order setting means. The mounting order setting means rearranges the mounting order for each electronic component of the NC information by the plurality of expansion methods, and Respectively obtained an index parameter indicative of the mounting efficiency with respect to the sequence, by comparing the index parameter of the expansion method, characterized by selecting the most efficient expansion method. The index parameter is a task number representing the number of operations until the electronic component is sucked to the plurality of suction nozzles of the component holding means and mounted on the circuit board.
[0044]
In this electronic component mounting apparatus, when an electronic component is mounted on a multi-sided board or a heterogeneous mixed board, the deployment method for rearranging the mounting order of the input NC information for each electronic component can be changed according to the circuit board. This makes it possible to perform rearrangement processing using a more appropriate deployment method, and improve mounting efficiency. Therefore, the mounting operation for a multi-sided board or a heterogeneous mixed board becomes an efficient operation without waste, and the mounting time is shortened.
Moreover, in this electronic component mounting apparatus, the deployment method with the highest mounting efficiency can be automatically selected by the mounting order setting means, so that the optimal deployment can be easily performed without the need for troublesome investigation of the mounting efficiency of each deployment method. The system can be set, so that the operability is improved and the mounting efficiency can be surely improved.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION
DESCRIPTION OF EXEMPLARY EMBODIMENTS Hereinafter, a preferred embodiment of an electronic component mounting apparatus according to the invention will be described in detail with reference to the drawings.
The present invention can be mounted on a circuit board composed of a plurality of small substrates such as a multi-sided substrate and a heterogeneous mixed substrate by selectively switching a development method improved from the conventional step repeat method and pattern repeat method. In addition, when mounting only on a specific small board on the circuit board, the mounting efficiency is improved and the mounting is shortened.

First, the NC information including information such as the mounting coordinates of the electronic component to be mounted on the circuit board and the type of suction nozzle to be used is rearranged so that the mounting efficiency of the electronic component is improved, and in the rearranged order. Mount the electronic components on the circuit board. The mounting operation when the task repeat method is used as the expansion method for rearranging the NC information will be described.
FIG. 4 shows an example of a multi-planar substrate composed of three small substrates having the same pattern. The patterns A, B, and C of each small substrate of the multi-planar substrate include chip components. Assume that C1 to C12, SOP1 to SOP3, and QFP1 to QFP3 are mounted, respectively.
[0072]
According to this method, each electronic component is mounted in the order of chip component → SOP → QFP as indicated by an arrow in the figure. That is, as the mounting steps are sequentially shown in FIG. 5, first, the first mounting head 38a has the chip component C1, the second mounting
[0073]
Next, for example, the suction nozzle of the first mounting head 38a is changed from S size to M size (may be another mounting head), SOP1 is sucked to the first mounting head 38a, and the first pattern on the small substrate Install in place. Subsequently, SOP2 and SOP3 are sequentially adsorbed by the first mounting head in the same manner and mounted at predetermined positions on each small substrate.
Then, the
[0074]
That is, the result of development by the task repeat method is that the mounting step of mounting all electronic components that can be held by the same suction nozzle on the circuit board is applied to all the small boards, and the suction nozzle is replaced after the mounting step is completed. By moving to the next mounting step, electronic components are mounted on each small board.
[0075]
According to the task repeat method, when the electronic components are mounted on the three small substrates, the suction nozzle is exchanged only when shifting from C12 to SOP1 and from SOP3 to QFP1. For this reason, the number of tasks and the number of times of replacement of the suction nozzle are minimized, and the electronic component can be mounted on the substrate with high efficiency, thereby shortening the mounting time of the electronic component.
[0076]
Here, the task is an electronic component mounting apparatus capable of mounting a plurality of suction nozzles for holding electronic components. The process up to the process of recognizing and sequentially mounting is defined as one unit. Therefore, as the number of tasks is smaller, the number of recognition processes for confirming the suction state of the electronic component is reduced, so that mounting efficiency can be improved. The number of tasks is counted based on the number of repetitions of a series of operations from suction to recognition and mounting of an electronic component. For example, the number of tasks can be easily obtained by counting the number of times of recognition of the suction state.
In addition, the smaller the number of nozzle replacements, the less nozzle replacement processing that is irrelevant to the actual mounting operation that occurs between tasks, so that mounting efficiency can be improved. The number of nozzle replacements is counted by comparing the nozzles used for each electronic component before and after the tasks in the mounting program created by rearranging the NC information or mounting order, and determining the necessity of nozzle replacement. .
[0077]
Next, a mounting operation using the improved step repeat method will be described as another expansion method for rearranging NC information in order to improve the mounting efficiency.
The mounting order of each electronic component by the improved step repeat method is the same as that of the conventional step repeat method as shown in FIG. 6, and is performed in the order of chip components → SOP → QFP as indicated by arrows in the figure. That is, as shown in FIG. 7 in which the mounting steps are sequentially shown, first, the chip component C1 is attached to the first mounting head 38a, the chip component C5 is attached to the second mounting
[0078]
Next, the
Then, the
[0079]
That is, the development result by the improved version step repeat method includes the mounting step in which the same type of electronic components are held in the respective suction nozzles and the plurality of held electronic components are continuously mounted on each small substrate. By applying to all small substrates and moving to the next mounting step after the mounting step is completed, electronic components are mounted on each small substrate.
[0080]
According to the improved version of the step repeat method, when electronic components are mounted on three small boards, the number of times of picking up the components is larger than the step repeat method of picking up each component once. Therefore, the electronic component can be mounted on the substrate with high efficiency, and the mounting time can be shortened.
[0081]
Further, in the task repeat method, as can be seen from the operations after
[0082]
According to the task repeat method, the improved version step repeat method, and the combination of these methods described above, the number of times the parts are picked up can be greatly reduced compared to the step repeat method, and the number of nozzle replacements can be reduced compared to the pattern repeat method. It can be greatly reduced. As a result, the throughput of the facility can be improved.
[0083]
Next, an electronic component mounting method for mounting electronic components by selectively switching between the task repeat method, the improved version step repeat method and the like, which is a major feature of the present invention, will be described in detail.

First, it is determined whether the detected determination marks K1 and K2 are to perform NC information recombination processing by a predetermined expansion method stored in advance, or to be subjected to recombination processing by changing to another expansion method ( S201). If the determination mark is to be performed in a predetermined expansion method stored in advance, a normal NC information rearrangement process is performed (S202). On the other hand, if the determination mark is to be changed to another expansion method, the expansion method designated by the determination mark is read from the

Here, in addition to the number of tasks and the number of nozzle replacements, the index parameter indicates the actual operation time or operation when each mounting method creates a mounting program and runs this mounting program on the mounting device. It is good also as an estimated operation time at the time of simulation. This eliminates the need for calculation processing such as time conversion from the number of tasks and the like, and a highly efficient deployment method can be selected easily.

(Third embodiment)
Next, a third embodiment of the electronic component mounting method according to the present invention will be described. The mounting method according to the present embodiment is obtained by rearranging NC information based on a plurality of development methods, creating a mounting program for electronic component mounting in advance for each recombination result, and then providing it on the board. This is a method (mounting method 3) for recognizing a mark or reading a switching flag of NC information or device data and selecting a mounting program corresponding to the determination mark or the switching flag.

The mounting method in this embodiment is a multi-sided board, and when mounting on a non-defective small board excluding a small board that has become NG in the previous board processing step, or a heterogeneous mixed board, When mounting only a small board of this type, a mounting program is created in advance for each of the combination patterns of the small boards to be mounted, and a judgment mark provided on the circuit board or NC information or device data switching flag This is a method for appropriately selecting a mounting program to be used.

As shown in FIGS. 22 and 23, the electronic component is sucked to the first to fourth mounting heads using the same kind of suction nozzle, and the operation of mounting on the circuit board is performed four times in total. That is, the number of tasks in this case is 4.

FIG. 24 is a diagram showing a mounting order according to a conventional method in which only the pattern A is extracted after the NC information shown in FIG. 20 is rearranged for both the A and B patterns. On the other hand, the mounting order when only the pattern A in the NC information shown in FIG. 20 is rearranged is as shown in FIG. FIG. 27 is a diagram sequentially showing the mounting steps. As described above, when only a specific pattern is mounted, the number of tasks and the number of times of replacement of the suction nozzles are changed when only the pattern A or the pattern B is individually recombined, compared to the conventional method of adjusting after both the patterns A and B are recombined. The mounting time can be shortened.

In addition, mixed production of different types of circuit boards such as sequentially mounting a plurality of types of circuit boards can be performed with high efficiency, and further production speed can be realized.
[0120]
When a plurality of circuit boards are carried into the XY table 91, only a specific type of circuit board is stopped on the XY table 91, and other circuit boards are controlled to pass through the XY table 91. Alternatively, only a specific circuit board may be mounted at the time of heterogeneous mixed production. Alternatively, different types of circuit boards may be alternately carried into the XY table 91 one by one to perform the mounting process. Also in these board | substrate conveyance systems, it can mount using the mounting systems 1-4 mentioned above.
[0121]
Further, in addition to the configuration of the conveyance path in which the circuit boards shown in FIG. 32 are stopped one by one with a stopper, for example, as shown in FIG. . That is, the

Next, an example of a data configuration in which the switching flag described in the first to fourth embodiments described above is provided on the NC information side and a result of recombination processing using this data configuration will be described with reference to FIGS. 34 to 37. .

[0123]
As NC information for mounting the electronic components A1 to A6 on the small boards N1 to N4 of the
Depending on the value of the expansion method switching flag in the header part, the entire circuit board is replaced with a task repeat method, an improved step repeat method, a mixed method of these methods, a step repeat method, a pattern repeat method, etc. One of these is selected. The NC information includes a block for the small boards N1 to N4 and a block for each of the electronic components A1 to A6, and the blocks for the small boards N1 to N4 have no X and Y coordinate offset information and no switching flag. Contains information on the deployment method used. In addition, the block for each of the electronic components A1 to A6 includes component information such as a mounting position in the small substrate, a mounting head type, and a suction nozzle type.
[0124]
FIG. 36 shows the result of recombination processing of the NC information shown in FIG. 35 by the step repeat method by specifying the switching flag, and the electronic components A1 to A6 are distributed to the small substrates N1 to N4, respectively. In this case, the number of tasks is 24.
On the other hand, FIG. 37 shows the result of the recombination processing by the task repeat method with the NC information switching flag changed. In this case, the number of tasks is 6, which is ¼ of the number of tasks compared to the case of the step repeat method of FIG. As described above, by providing the switching flag on the NC information side, switching of the development method can be easily performed. In this case, when the development method is designated by the switching flag, the rearrangement process is performed by ignoring the development method designated for the block for each small board. However, the development method designated for the block for each small board is changed. The selection may be performed with priority, and the reassignment process may be performed ignoring the switching flag.
[0125]
As described above, according to the electronic component mounting method and the electronic component mounting apparatus of each of the above embodiments, a deployment method for rearranging the mounting order for each electronic component of the input NC information is selected for each circuit board. By creating a mounting program by rearranging the mounting order of electronic components according to the selected deployment method, it is possible to change the deployment method according to the circuit board, and to perform rearrangement processing using a more appropriate deployment method. , Mounting efficiency can be improved. Therefore, the mounting operation for a multi-sided board or a heterogeneous mixed board becomes an efficient operation without waste, and the mounting time is shortened. Then, by automatically setting the expansion method to the most efficient method, the burden on the worker can be greatly reduced.
[0126]
Also, a mounting program in which the mounting order of electronic components is rearranged for all combinations of small boards to be mounted is created in advance, and any one of the created mounting programs is selected. Accordingly, it is possible to efficiently mount electronic components selectively only on a specific small substrate among the plurality of small substrates. In addition, the development process is not performed every time mounting is performed, and the calculation load for creating the mounting program is reduced. For this reason, a series of processing of electronic component mounting is simplified.
Furthermore, by using the above-described
[0127]
When mounting electronic components on a multi-sided board, (1) replacing the suction nozzle after applying a mounting step for mounting all the electronic components that can be held by the same suction nozzle to the substrate. This makes it possible to minimize the number of times the suction nozzles are replaced. (2) The mounting step of continuously mounting the same type of electronic components on each suction nozzle and continuously mounting each small substrate By moving to the next mounting step after applying to the above, it is possible to change from the operation of repeating suction and mounting for each component to the operation of mounting and mounting multiple components at a time. For this reason, the mounting operation can be efficiently performed by the methods (1) and (2) without waste, and the mounting time of electronic components can be shortened and the throughput of equipment can be improved.
[0128]
In addition, the mounting program according to each mounting method described above is created by an external computer connected to the electronic component mounting apparatus via the communication means, and the created mounting program is input to the electronic component mounting apparatus via the communication means and is input A system for mounting electronic components may be configured based on the mounting program.
According to this electronic component mounting system, since a mounting program created by an external computer can be input to the electronic component mounting device via communication means, there is no need to create a mounting program using the electronic component mounting device. It is possible to create a mounting program while the system is in operation, greatly improving work efficiency.
[0129]
【The invention's effect】
According to the electronic component mounting method and the electronic component mounting apparatus of the present invention, the mounting of the electronic components on the multi-sided substrate or the heterogeneous mixed substrate is specified, the mounting order of the electronic components, and the suction nozzle used for mounting the electronic components are specified. By setting the mounting program to be optimized, it is possible to provide an electronic component mounting method and an electronic component mounting apparatus that can improve mounting efficiency and shorten the mounting time.
