Description
図1は、本発明の第1実施形態によるフィールドシーケンシャル液晶表示装置の全体構成を示すブロック図である。図2は、本発明の第1実施形態による画素の構成を示す図である。まず、図1および図2を参照して、第1実施形態によるフィールドシーケンシャル液晶表示装置100の構造について説明する。なお、第1実施形態では、液晶表示装置の一例であるフィールドシーケンシャル液晶表示装置100に本発明を適用した場合について説明する。
図9は、本発明の第2実施形態によるフィールドシーケンシャル液晶表示装置の白電圧を変化させるための回路図である。図9を参照して、この第2実施形態では、上記第1実施形態と異なり、黒電圧を変化させるとともに、白電圧も変化させるフィールドシーケンシャル液晶表示装置100aについて説明する。

Claims (8)
- 液晶と前記液晶に電圧を印加する画素電極および共通電極を含む画素と、
マトリクス状に配置される複数の前記画素が設けられる表示部と、
互いに異なる色を発光する複数の光源とを備え、
前記複数の光源が順番に発光する発光に応じて、前記画素の前記共通電極に印加される電圧の大きさを変化させることにより、前記液晶に印加される電圧を調整するように構成されており、前記光源が発光している際に、前記画素の前記共通電極に印加される電圧の大きさは、前記複数の光源の色ごとに変化され、前記複数の光源の色ごとの前記画素の透過率が最小になる黒表示の透過率が等しくなるように調整されるように構成されている、液晶表示装置。 - 前記共通電極に印加される電圧は、パルス状である、請求項1に記載の液晶表示装置。
- 前記液晶は、前記液晶を相転移させる電圧を印加した後に前記液晶の構成分子が弓なり状に配列されるベンド配向になるように構成されている、請求項1または2に記載の液晶表示装置。
- 前記画素は、前記発光する前記光源が切り替わるごとに前記画素の前記共通電極に印加される電圧を切り替えることによって前記液晶に印加される電圧の極性が切り替わる反転駆動である、請求項1〜3のいずれか1項に記載の液晶表示装置。
- 前記複数の光源が発光する色は、それぞれ、赤、緑および青のうちから選択された互いに異なる色である、請求項1〜4のいずれか1項に記載の液晶表示装置。
- 前記画素の前記画素電極に印加される電圧の大きさは、前記複数の光源の色ごとに変化され、前記複数の光源の色ごとの前記画素の最大透過率が等しくなるように調整されるように構成されている、請求項1〜5のいずれか1項に記載の液晶表示装置。
- 基準電圧が印加され、デジタルの映像信号をアナログの映像信号に変換するとともに、前記画素電極に電圧を印加する第1回路と、
前記基準電圧を生成する電源および前記第1回路の間に配置される第2回路とをさらに備え、
前記共通電極に印加される電圧を前記基準電圧に加えることにより、前記画素電極に印加される電圧の大きさを変化させるように構成されており、前記第2回路は、非反転増幅器から構成されている、請求項6に記載の液晶表示装置。 - 請求項1〜7のいずれか1項に記載の液晶表示装置を備える、ヘッドアップディスプレイ。
