【発明の属する技術分野】
本発明は、船外機のエンジンに搭載するに好適な吸気消音装置及びこれを備えた船外機に関する。

【従来の技術】
船外機のエンジンに用いる吸気消音装置として、従来、特開平8−93433号公報に開示されている技術が知られている。
この技術は、複数のエアホーンを内方に突設したフラットな基板と、該基板を覆うケースとからなり、基板とケースとを接合・一体化して箱状体を形成し、吸気消音装置を構成している。

【発明が解決しようとする課題】
以上の従来技術は、吸気消音装置の基板にエンジンのスロットル弁装置と連通する接続吸気通路を構成するエアホーンを吸気消音装置の内方空間に突出するように設けており、エアホーンの外端面はフラットであり、これにスロットル弁装置の吸気通路(吸気道)端縁部を接続することは難しく、又接続部のシールも難しく、高精度のシール性を確保することが難しい。
又内方空間にエアホーンを突設し、スロットル弁装置の吸気通路との接続を容易化、確実化するため、エアホーンの外端面に口金状の接続部を設けることも考えられるが、吸気消音装置の基板の構造が複雑化し、且つ製作も煩雑、面倒なものとなる。

又吸気消音装置に接続吸気通路以外に外気取入れ口を設ける必要があるが、従来では、箱状の吸気消音装置に孔を設けたりしているが、孔では吸気効率の点で問題があり、従って、外気取入れ口の管長効果を得るために筒状部材を嵌め込むことが好ましいが、これによると部品点数が多くなり、又筒状部材と吸気消音装置の本体との間のシール構造が必要となり、この点でも部品点数が多くなり、構造が複雑化し、コスト的にも不利でもある。
以上の外、クランクシャフト縦置きのバーチカルエンジンの前後方向の一方に吸気消音装置を配設しているので、エンジンを含む船外機の前後方向の寸法が大型化する。

本発明は、以上の課題を解決すべくなされたもので、その目的とする処は、ボックス状の吸気消音装置本体を製作する段階で、別部品を要することなく、スロットル弁装置に接続する筒状の接続口及び管長効果を有する筒状の外気取入れ口を一体に備える吸気消音装置を提供する。
又本発明の目的とする処は、接続管、筒状の外気取入れ口を備える吸気消音装置の製作の容易化、構造の簡素化を図った吸気消音装置を提供する。
更に本発明の目的とする処は、スロットル弁装置の吸気通路に接続する接続管を吸気消音装置に一体に備えさせ、スロットル弁装置の吸気通路との間のシール性の向上、吸気消音装置自身のシール性の向上が図れ、且つ部品点数を増やすことなく管長効果を有する筒状の外気取入れ口を一体に設け得るようにした吸気消音装置を提供する。

【課題を解決するための手段】
上記課題を解決するために請求項1は、エンジンのスロットル弁装置の吸気通路に接続される接続口と、外気取入れ口とを備えるエンジンの吸気消音装置であって、吸気消音装置は、凹皿状の2つ割の部材を接合した箱状部材で構成し、2つ割の部材の一方の部材の一部に前記吸気通路と該部材内部とを接続する筒状の接続口を外方に突出するように一体に設け、2つ割の部材の双方に、突き合せることで筒状部を構成する樋状部を対称的に外方に突出するように設け、各部材を接合することで該樋状部で外方に突出する筒状の外気取入れ口を設けたことを特徴とする。

【発明の実施の形態】
本発明の実施の形態を添付図に基づいて以下に説明する。なお、図面は符号の向きに見るものとする。
図1は、吸気消音装置の上面斜視図である。
吸気消音装置1は、実施の形態では後述するように船外機のエンジンの吸気消音装置として用いられ、クランクシャフト縦置きの4ストロークV型複数気筒バーチカルエンジンの上方に配設される。図において、右方が船外機の前方Frで、左方が後方Rrである。

吸気消音装置1の本体2は偏平な箱状をなし、上下2つ割の部材3,4(上下に半体)の接合、一体化した構造体からなる。底は概ね平面形状で、略々平坦である。
本体2の後部の左右方向の中間部に後方(船外機の推進方向の後方)に開口する1個の筒状の接続口5が、接続口5の筒状の吸気通路の中心線に対し、任意の角度でもって傾斜した線に沿って後部の左右に斜め後外方に傾斜して延出した2個の外気取入れ口6,6を備える。
偏平箱状の本体の前部には、前方に延びるカバー部7が延出され、カバー部7は下部材4の前部を前方に延長して設けた。

図2は、吸気消音装置1を構成する本体2の分解斜視図である。
下部材4は周囲に起立壁片4aを囲繞するように備える凹皿状をなす。起立壁片4aの図の手前側の後壁片4bの中間部には、断面が高さ寸法よりも左右方向の幅寸法が大きい横長の長円状で筒状の接続口5が、凹皿状の部材4の内部と連通するように一体に後方に延出するように設けられている。
接続口5は、前後方向に長さを有し、後端部5aが後方に開口5cし、又部材4の起立片4bに開口した上流部の開口5b(図5、図6参照)し、開口5cと5bとの間を横向きのダクト部5dで連結している。

又後壁片4b接続口5の左右には、各外側に指向するように所定長さの上向きに開放した樋状部を構成する凹溝部4c,4cが部材4と一体に形成されている。
凹溝部4c,4cは、凹皿状の部材4の内部と外部とを連通するように、後壁片4bの両側と左右の側壁片4f,4fの後端部の境界部分に設けた。
下部材4の底片4dの前半部には、上方に膨出する平面視半円形の庇部9を該底片4dと一体に形成し、庇部9の前方の部分に前壁片4eが横断するように臨み、前壁片4eは左右の側壁片4f,4fに連続する。

前記した接続口5は、後述するように後端部5aの後部開口5cが後方に開口し、前部は同径のまま後壁片4bに開口5bしている。
又前記した凹溝部4c,4cは、上方及び後方部、並びに後壁片4bの両側に開放されており、下部材4の内外を連通する。

上部材3は下部材4と対称形状をなし、頂片3dの周囲から垂下してこれを囲繞する垂下壁片3aを備え、皿を逆さにしたような形状である。
壁片3aの後壁片3bの左右には、前記下部材4の凹溝部4c,4cに対応する下向きに開放する樋状部を構成する樋を逆さにしたような形状の凹溝部3c,3cを、該上部材3と一体に突設した。
凹溝部3c,3cは、後壁片3bの左右と左右の側壁片3f、前片3eの境界部との間に後方に突出するように一体に形成した。

以上の上下の部材3,4を重ね併せて接合、一体化する。
例えば、下部材4の壁片4aの上縁部4g間にシール材2aを介装し、縁部4gに接着剤を貼着し、上部材3の壁片3aの下縁部3gと突き合せ、上下の部材3,4を接着する。接着に代え、振動溶着等で溶着してもよく、必要に応じてボルト止めしてもよい。

以上のように、上下の部材3,4を重ね合せ、部材2,4の周縁部の壁片4a,3aを接合、一体化し、図1で示した偏平薄形の箱状本体2を形成する。
上下の部材3,4の接合、一体化で、対称的に形成された前記の凹溝部3c,3c,4c,4cは重ね合わされ、重ね合わせることにより、前記した筒状で、外部と本体2内を連通させる外気取入れ口6,6が形成される(図1参照)。

外気取入れ口6,6は、図1、図4に示すように後方に向けて平面視で接続口5を挟んで「ハ」字形に配設され、端面は図8に示したように実施の形態では下半部が角形の凹状で、上半部が略々三角形の逆凹状で、これを上下で接続した開口形状をなす。
筒上の接続口5は、この間にあって後方に延出して後方に開口し、後述するスロットル弁装置の吸気通路と連通、接続され、又本体2内部の吸気消音室と連通する。
これら上下の部材3,4を接合、一体化するに際し、フレームアレスタを構成する網部材10をこの間に介装して挟持、固定する。

図2と併せて説明すると、下部材4の後壁片4bの内側であって、接続口5の裏面側には、下辺、両側辺の3辺を備える正面視凹型の保持枠部11を形成し、保持枠部11の内側の3辺には連続する係止溝11aを設ける。
網部材10は金属、例えばステンレス線材等で形成され、実施の形態では横長の矩形板状をなし、これの左右縁、下縁10a,10a,10bを保持枠11の係止溝11aに上から挟み入れ、網部材10の上縁10c上から横長キャップ状の押え部材12を被せ、網部材10を保持枠部11に挟持、固定する。

図4は、吸気消音装置1の本体2の平面図、図5は図4の5−5線断面図である。
図5に示すように、本体2の下部材4の底片4dの幅方向中間部で前半部には、前記したように、底片4dから上方に膨出する平面視半円形の庇部9が設けられており、又下部材4の前部には、前方に延びるカバー部7が一体に設けられている。
庇部9の天井9aとカバー部7の天井7aとは同レベルで連続し、実施の形態では庇部9の天井9aの中央部に上方への突出凹部9bが形成されており、又カバー部7の天井7aの前部には、通気開口7bが設けられている。

以上の本体2の底面に形成した庇部9及びカバー部7は、吸気消音装置1をエンジンの上方に配設した際、ベルトに対し、高さ方向の干渉を吸収し、回避し、故にエンジンルーム全体の小型化という要望に対し、これを満足するものとなっている。また、左右に幅広の吸気消音装置をベルト上方に配置することによって、ベルトカバーを省略可能としている。
エンジン上方に突出した駆動プーリ及び発電機の被動プーリ並びにこの間を繋ぐベルトカバーを構成するものである。これについては、後述する。
以上の本体2内に吸気消音室13が形成され、吸気消音室13は、接続口5を介してスロットル弁装置の吸気通路に連通接続し、又外気取入れ口6,6を介して外気と連通する。

図6は、網部材10の挟持構造の詳細を示す図5の要部の拡大図である。図7は図6の7−7線断面図である。図6及び図7に従って網部材10の挟持構造を説明する。
網部材10の保持枠部11は、下部材4の後壁片4bに設けた接続口5の上流開口5bの左右及び下方を囲むように、該吸気口下流開口5bに近接して対向するように設けられ、図7に示したように上方を開放した凹型をなす。凹型の保持枠部11の内側に係止溝11aは正面視凹状に形成されている。

網部材10は、保持枠部11の係止溝11aにその左右の側縁10a,10a、下縁10bが係合するように挿入し、上から押え部材12を被せて網部材10の上縁10cの保護と保持を行なう。
このように、フレームアレスタを構成する網部材10は、上下の部材3,4を重ね合わせて接合一体化する過程で、この間に挟持する。

本実施の形態は、上下の部材3,4を接合、一体化するに際し、上下の部材3,4の接合部である縁部3g,4gの複数箇所にボス部14…を設け、該ボス部14…にビス15…を通し、縁部3g,4g相互をネジ止めして一体的に接合したものである。
このように接着や溶着に加えて、または代えて上下の部材3,4をネジ結合して一体化し、本体2を形成してもよい。

次に、本発明に係る吸気消音装置を設置したエンジンの一例として、船外機のV型複数気筒のバーチカルエンジンの例を説明する。
図13は、船外機の外観斜視図である。
船外機20の外形は、上部のエンジンカバー21、この下のアンダーカバー22、この下のエクステンションケース23、この下のギヤケース24からなる。ギヤケース24の後方にはスクリュー25が設けられており、又アンダーカバー22とエクステンションケース23との間の前方部には、スイベル軸27を中心として旋回動可能にスターンブラケット26が設けられている。

図14は、船外機20のエンジンカバー21、アンダーカバー22の一部を破断し、吸気消音装置1を破断した要部の拡大図である。
エンジン30及び補機類の外側をエンジンカバー21で覆い、エンジンルームSを構成する。
エンジン30は複数のシリンダ31a…を上下に配置したシリンダブロック31、該シリンダブロック31の後面に配置されたシリンダヘッド32、この後面に配置されたシリンダヘッドカバー33、シリンダブロック31の前面に配置されたクランクケース34、シリンダブロック31、クランクケース34の下面に配置したマウントケース35、シリンダ31a…内のピストン36…、クランクシャフト37等からなる。

クランクケース34の前面の上部には発電機(ACG)42を取付、支持し、シリンダブロック31の上面にはクランクシャフト37で駆動される駆動プーリ43を、シリンダヘッド32の上面にはカムシャフト駆動プーリ44を設け、プーリ43と44とを中間のテンションプーリ45を介してタイミングベルト46で連結し、カムシャフトを駆動する。

カムシャフト駆動プーリ44の上側はプーリカバーで覆われている。
カムシャフトプーリ44の前方のテンションプーリ45、上下の駆動プーリ43,47、発電機プーリ48の上方には吸気消音装置1の底が臨み、カムシャフトプーリ44以外のプーリ及びベルトを覆う。

ベルト46は、図16に示すようにテンションプーリ45,45,55でエンジンルーム内において左右方向の幅が狭くなるように配置されており、これにより吸気消音装置1の下面の両側とエンジン30の上面との間には空間が確保される。
従って、エンジンの上面と吸気消音装置との間の側方からエアは放出され、ベルト・プーリ機構の放熱性に高いものが得られる。
又吸気消音装置によって、カムシャフトプーリ以外のプーリにカバーが不要なので、ベルトカバーが削減できる。

前記駆動プーリ43には、同軸に大径駆動プーリ47を連設し、これを前記発電機42の被動プーリ48にタイミングベルト49を介して連結し、発電機42を駆動する。
シリンダヘッドカバー33の後方には、吸気マニホールド50を縦向きに配設し、吸気マニホールド50の上端部に、吸気道が横向となるようにスロットル弁装置51を配設し、吸気道の上流部は前方を向く。

吸気消音装置1の本体2は、前記した取付スティ部8…を介してエンジン側に取付、支持され、本体2の底面に形成した前述の庇部9の下方に前記した大径駆動プーリ47が臨み、カバー部7の天井7aに設けた通気開口7bの下方に発電機42の被動プーリ48が臨み、庇部9及びカバー部7は、プーリのカバー部材を構成する。
従って、上述したように吸気消音装置は、プーリのカバー部材を構成するとともに、駆動プーリ側に対してはカバーが不要となる。

吸気消音装置1の本体2の後方に設けた接続口5は後方を向き、該接続口5はグロメット52を介してスロットル弁装置51の吸気通路を構成するスロットルボディの吸気道に連通接続する。
スロットル弁装置51の吸気通路との接続は、接続口5が筒状で後方に突出したり、筒状部を吸気通路に嵌合してなされ、筒状の吸気通路との間の接続も、グロメット52により行なうので、シール性が容易に確保し易く、確実、容易なシールを行なうことができる。
尚、エンジンカバー21の前部には冷却エア取入れ通路21aが、又後部の上部には外気取入れ通路21bが設けられており、内部の取入れ開口21cを介して外気はダクト53を介してエンジンカバー21内に導入される。

エンジン30は、実施の形態ではシリンダブロック31,31を平面視V型に配置した平面視V型のエンジンである。

以上、実施の形態について詳述したが、吸気消音装置の実施の対象は、上記した平面視V型の多気筒バーチカルエンジン及びこれの実施対象である船外機に限られず、直列多気筒バーチカルエンジン、更にはシリンダが横向きの通常形式のエンジンの吸気消音装置として採用することができる。
