Description
PTT待ち時間
ある実施例では、パケットデータサービスがアクティブである時、インフラストラクチャ中のリソース、例えば、基地局トランシーバサブシステム(BTS)、基地局コントローラ(BSC)、インターワーキング(IWF)、及びラジオリンクは、移動局(MS)に積極的に割り当てられる。IPに基づいたVoIPディスパッチサービスにおいて、グループ加入者の間でアクティブな会話が行われている間、各ユーザーに対するパケットデータ接続は、アクティブのままである。しかしながら、動作していない期間、すなわち、“ハングタイム(hang time)”の後で、グループ通信においてユーザートラフィックチャネルは、休止状態に移行できる。
ショートデータバースト呼び出しシグナリングメッセージ
ある実施例では、実際の合計の休止目覚まし時間及び話し手により感じ取られたPTT待ち時間の著しい削減は、例えば、“cdma2000拡散スペクトルシステムに関するTIA/EIA/IS−2000標準”、以降 “cdma2000標準”と参照する、に与えられるように、ショートデータバースト(SDB)メッセージの使用を通して達成されることができる。ある実施例では、SDBメッセージは、順方向基本チャネル(FCH)若しくは順方向専用共通制御チャネル(F−DCCH)のような専用物理チャネル、若しくは逆方向アクセスチャネル(R−ACH)、逆方向エンハンストアクセスチャネル(R−EACH)、順方向共通制御チャネル(F−CCCH)、若しくはページングチャネル(PCH)のような共通物理チャネルの両者を介して送られることができる。SDBメッセージは、ラジオバーストプロトコル(RBP)により輸送されることができる。RBPは、適切な及び利用できる物理レイヤチャネル上に、メッセージのマップを作る。SDBメッセージが任意のIPトラフィックを搬送でき、共通物理チャネルを介して送られることができるため、呼び出しをしているクライアントのモービルが、専用のトラフィックチャネルを持たない場合、SDBメッセージは、グループ呼び出しシグナリングを交換するためのメカニズムを提供する。
モービルが開始した呼び出しシグナリングメッセージ
メディアシグナリングメッセージは、逆方向リンク若しくはモービルが開始したリンクを介してIPデータグラムを搬送できる。クライアントの移動局は、ユーザーがフロアを要求する場合及び専用の逆方向トラフィックチャネルが、即座に利用できない場合にはいつでも、迅速にCMの信号を送ることができる。クライアントの移動局が、全ての専用のトラフィックチャネルを開放すると仮定すると、クライアントの移動局は、ワイアレスインフラストラクチャの逆方向共通チャネルを介してフロア制御要求を直ちに転送できる。ワイアレスインフラストラクチャは、CMに要求を中継できる。例えば、逆方向アクセスチャネル若しくは逆方向エンハンストアクセスチャネルのいずれかは、専用の逆方向チャネルが利用できない場合、そのようなメッセージを送るために使用されることができる。ある実施例では、クライアントの移動局は、フロア要求メッセージをCMにSDBメッセージとして送信できる。
ネットワークが開始した呼び出しシグナリングメッセージ
ある実施例では、フロア制御要求を受信した後で、CMは、目的の加入者(聞き手)のグループへメディアシグナリング目覚ましメッセージをバーストでき、加入者(聞き手)のトラフィックチャネルを再設定をトリガできる。グループの休止応答タイマがゼロに設定されるならば、CMは、直ちにフロア制御要求に応答できる。ある実施例では、話し手が、PTT要求を送信することにより直ちに自身のトラフィックチャネルを再設定することを開始したならば、呼び出し者及び聞き手のトラフィックチャネルは、並行して都合よく再設定されることができる。
呼び出しシグナリングメッセージに対するネットワークインターフェース
専用のトラフィックチャネルなしで、ある種のインフラストラクチャポリシーで若しくは他のトラフィックからのそのような特定のトラフィックを認識するためのインターフェースを使用して、どのネットワークが開始した特定のトラフィック、例えば、SDBペイロード(payload)、が、アイドルの移動局に対して送信されるかを決定することは、実行されることができる。
モービルが始動したサービスオリジネーション及びページング
ある実施例では、図3に関係して上記に説明したように、自身のトラフィックチャネルを迅速に再設定するためにワイアレス、例えば、CDMA、インフラストラクチャへサービスオリジネーション要求304に引き続き直ちに、話し手の移動局(MS)は、SDB形式で、CMへフロア制御要求302を送信できる。しかしながら、休止応答タイマが小さな値に設定されるならば、CMは迅速にフロア制御要求310に応答でき、話し手のMSに応答312を送信し戻すことができる。この応答が、サービスオリジネーショントランザクション304の早い時期の間にインフラストラクチャに届くならば、インフラストラクチャは、話し手のMSがアクティブなトラフィックチャネルを持たないことに気づき、話し手のMSへの応答をページすることを試みる。しかしながら、このページングアクションは、既に進行中のサービスオリジネーショントランザクションを中止できる。ある実施例では、話し手のMSは、呼び出(ページ)しに応答でき、フロア制御応答メッセージが話し手に配信されることを確認する。そしてサービスオリジネーションを再び要求する。しかし、もともとのサービスオリジネーションの試みが中断された結果、不必要な遅延が、話し手のトラフィックチャネルの再設定において経験される。
ネットワークが始動したパケットデータトリガのキャシング
目覚ましトリガ402を含むIPデータグラム、それはワイアレス、例えば、CDMA、インフラストラクチャに到着し、かつ専用のトラフィックチャネルを待たない聞き手のモービルに向けられている、は、一般にはネットワークによって若しくは特別にはワイアレスインフラストラクチャによってのいずれかにより失われる。ある実施例では、聞き手のモービルに送信された目覚ましトリガ402は、聞き手の応答若しくはグループの目覚ましタイマが終わるまで決められたスケジュールにしたがって精力的に再送信される。例えば、目覚ましトリガ402は、500ms毎に再送信できる。しかし、このレートで目覚ましトリガ402を再送信することは、聞き手のトラフィックチャネルが再設定された時間からその聞き手に向けられ次の目覚ましトリガがインフラストラクチャに到着する時間まで、500msまでの最大遅延、若しくは250msの平均遅延、を生じることができる。
メディアバッファリング
ある実施例では、ユーザーがフロア制御を要求した後で、専用のチャネルがクライアントと聞き手との間で再設定される前にメディアをバッファリングすることによって、ユーザーは、会話を開始することを可能にされることができる。話し手の会話をバッファリングすることにより、システムは、聞き手のトラフィックチャネルが完全に再設定される前に、話し手が会話を開始することが可能になる。これが、話し手が会話を早く開始することを可能にし、見かけのPTT待ち時間を減少する。聞き手はPTT待ち時間を経験しないので、その経験は、影響されない。すなわち、PTT待ち時間は、話し手からシステムの他の部分へ移行される。話し手は、彼の最初の会話スパートに対して聞き手から応答を受信するまでの長さだけ待つことができる。しかし、上記したように、話し手は、最初の会話スパートに対する応答が、彼がアクティブな会話をしている間に生じる、引き続く会話スパートに対する応答より時間がかかることを既に予期する。話し手の最初の会話スパートをバッファリングすることは、CM側において若しくはクライアントのMS側において行うことができる。
CMバッファリング
ある実施例では、CMは、話し手の最初の会話スパートをバッファできる。ユーザーがPTTボタンを押し、そしてユーザーのトラフィックチャネルが再設定された後で、ユーザーは、CMと通信することが可能になることができる。このとき、聞き手のトラフィックチャネルが、まだ起動していないので、CMは、目的の聞き手に今後送信するために話し手の会話をバッファする。話し手のトラフィックチャネルを設定するためにかかるおおよその時間を話し手が理解する見かけのPTT待ち時間を、CMバッファリングは、減少できる。図5は、一実施例にしたがったCMバッファリングを示す。
クライアント側バッファリング
短い見かけの待ち時間が望まれるある実施例では、話し手は、彼のトラフィックチャネルが再設定される前でさえ、話し始めることを可能にすることができる。クライアントのMSが、CMとまだ通信していないため、会話を始めるための話し手への信号は、クライアントMSによって作られる。話し手が、話し手のトラフィックチャネルが再設定される前に話すことを可能にするならば、クライアントのMSは、会話をバッファできる。CMとの通信がまだ設定されていないため、話すことの許可は、“楽天的に”与えられる。図6は、一実施例にしたがったクライアント側バッファリングを示す。ある実施例では、CMバッファリング及びクライアント側バッファリングの両者は、同時に機能できる。クライアント側バッファリングは、見かけのPTT待ち時間を小さくすることを可能にできる。
クイックページングチャネル
ある実施例では、CMは、グループの目覚ましタイマが終わるまで、若しくは全ての聞き手のクライアントがそれぞれのトラフィックチャネルを立ち上げるためにネットワークが始動したトリガへ応答するまで、話し手のPTT要求へ応答することを遅延できる。CMは、話し手がグループでメディアをストリームすることを可能にする前に、全ての聞き手がページされるまで待つことができる。グループの聞き手がページに応答する時間が長くなるほど、話し手が感じるPTT待ち時間が長くなる。
スロットされたタイマ
ある実施例では、モービルは、“スロットされたタイマ”とともにスロットされないページングモードで動作できる。活性化された場合、スロットされたタイマは、専用のトラフィックチャネルを解放する及びスロットされたタイマによって決められた時間の間アイドルモードに入ると、スロットされないモードでページングチャネルをモービルがモニタすることを要求する。このタイマの値は、基地局において設定できる。この特徴は、アイドルモードにある場合、ページングチャネルにおいて、例えば、80ms、スロット毎にモービルにモニタさせることをインフラストラクチャが指示することを可能にし、そして、いずれのスロットにおいてもモービルをインフラストラクチャがページすることに関する手段を提供する。クイックページングチャネルの特徴だけを使用する場合におけるように、スロットされないモードを使用することの1つの利点は、検出する手段をもつモービルを提供すること、及び同じバッテリーの消耗レートで可能にされる他のものよりも、より早くページに応答することである。それゆえ、休止目覚ましの間、聞き手のトラフィックチャネルを再設定するために必要とされる時間を減少することである。
制御ホールドモード
ある実施例では、モービルは、パケットデータ標準の下で動作できる。パケットデータ標準は、付加的なの休止/アイドル状態を提供する。そこでは、モービル及びインフラストラクチャは、モービルに付随したPPPレイヤ状態を維持する。一方で、専用のトラフィックチャネルを解放するための終点及びモービルのパケットデータサービスオプション呼び出しに付随した他のリソースのいずれかを可能にする。モービル若しくはインフラストラクチャのいずれかは、トラフィックチャネルを再設定すること及びRLPを再交渉することによって休止/アイドル状態からアクティブ状態へパケットデータ呼び出しの状態を移行できる。トラフィックチャネルを再設定するために必要な時間は、モービル若しくはインフラストラクチャが再設定を始動するか否かに依存するであろう。しかしながら、両方の場合において、全てのシステムリソースがモービルに要求され、そして割り当てられることが本質的に必要であるように、遅延は、システムにおいて新しい呼び出しを開始するために要求されるものと同等である。
記憶されたサービス設定
ある実施例では、インフラストラクチャは、アイドルモードへ移行する時に、モービル及びインフラストラクチャにおいてサービス設定状態をキャッシュする若しくは記憶する能力を提供できる。アクティブモードへ戻り、そしてトラフィックチャネルを再設定する場合、モービルは、オリジネーションメッセージ若しくはページ応答メッセージのいずれかにおいて、呼び出しに関するサービス設定をキャッシュしている若しくは記憶していることを指示できる。モービルは、周期的な冗長チェック(CRC)をオリジネーション若しくはページ応答メッセージに含むこともできる。CRCは、サービス設定の全長にわたって計算されることができる。基地局もサービス設定をキャッシュしているのであれば、基地局は、自身のサービス設定がモービルの記憶したサービス設定に適合するかを確認するために受信したCRCを使用できる。もしそうであれば、BSは、モービルが以前に記憶したサービス設定を使用できる自身の“サービス接続メッセージ”の中で指示できる。
Claims (24)
- グループ通信ネットワークにおいて動作しているモービルで同時に起きるサービスオリジネーション及びページングを回避する方法であって、該方法は以下を具備する:
グループ呼び出しを始動するためにソース通信デバイスからフロア制御要求を受信する;
該ソース通信デバイスからサービスオリジネーションプロセスを始動する;
該フロア制御要求への応答を送信する;及び
該フロア制御要求に直ちに応答しないように通信マネージャを設定することにより該サービスオリジネーションプロセスと該ページングとの間の競争状態を回避する。 - 請求項1の方法であって、該送信する前に該フロア制御応答をキャッシングするをさらに含む。
