BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
The present invention relates to an apparatus for manufacturing an optical recording medium such as an optical card having a fine concavo-convex information track, and in particular, a fine concavo-convex pattern can be formed on a flexible sheet substrate at low cost and stably. The present invention relates to an apparatus for replicating a pattern onto a flexible sheet base material that can be replicated.
[0002]
[Prior art]
In general, an optical recording medium such as an optical card achieves high-density recording by forming a fine uneven optical information recording pattern on a substrate for an optical recording medium. Several methods for forming such an uneven optical information recording pattern have been proposed. At present, among these molding methods, the so-called “2P method”, which has a very high precision of replicating a fine pattern and requires little equipment investment, is mainly employed.
[0003]
In the 2P method, a stamper having an uneven surface is prepared, a liquid ultraviolet curable resin is filled between the stamper and the optical information recording medium substrate, and the resin is irradiated with ultraviolet rays and cured. The optical information recording medium is manufactured by removing the stamper.
[0004]
In the conventional 2P method, an ultraviolet curable resin is dropped on a stamper, an optical recording medium substrate is stacked thereon, and the ultraviolet curable resin is sandwiched between the optical recording medium substrate and a stamper. And a UV-curable resin is spread to obtain a predetermined area necessary for replicating a fine pattern.
[0005]
[Problems to be solved by the invention]
In the conventional 2P method, an ultraviolet curable resin is dropped near the center of the stamper, and the resin is pressed through a substrate to spread it. Therefore, if there is variation in the shape of the dropped resin, the shape of the resin after setting the substrate, the flatness of the flat plate for pressing, the amount of resin applied, etc., the UV curable resin after duplication There is a high possibility that the shape is not uniform.
[0006]
In particular, when the number of impositions of optical information recording media such as optical cards is small and the area is small, it is possible to spread the resin in a relatively uniform shape, but to increase the number of impositions to accommodate mass production, In the case of a large area, there is a high possibility that the shape of the ultraviolet curable resin after replication becomes non-uniform.
[0007]
In order to solve this problem, the present inventors initially considered that the area of the stamper and the base material should be sufficiently larger than the area of the concave-convex optical information recording pattern to increase the dripping amount of the ultraviolet curable resin. . However, in this case, since the required amount of resin increases, the cost increases.
[0008]
On the other hand, in the press using a flat plate, there is a problem that bubbles cannot be completely avoided in the ultraviolet curable resin.
[0009]
The present invention has been made in consideration of such points, and a pattern duplicating apparatus for a flexible sheet base material capable of accurately and stably replicating a fine concavo-convex pattern at low cost is provided. The purpose is to provide.
[0010]
[Means for Solving the Problems]
The present invention provides a stamper having a fine concavo-convex pattern formed on the upper surface, a dispenser for applying a resin to the upper surface of the stamper, and a flexible shape so as to form an acute angle above the upper surface of the stamper on which the resin is applied A sheet supply unit for supplying the flexible sheet base material, and an upper surface side of the flexible sheet base material supplied by the sheet supply unit, which is provided to be movable relative to the stamper and the flexible sheet base material. And a nip roller that continuously presses the flexible sheet substrate against the stamper upper surface from a side closest to the stamper upper surface of the flexible sheet substrate. Device.
[0011]
According to the present invention, the nip roller continuously presses the flexible sheet substrate against the upper surface of the stamper, so that the resin is effectively spread and the bubbles are prevented from being mixed into the resin.
