Description
【0001】

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
The present invention relates to a lens holding device suitable for use in a laser scan unit (hereinafter referred to as LSU) in an electrophotographic recording apparatus.
[0002]
[Prior art]
Conventionally, in an LSU, a collimator lens that converts an output light beam into a substantially parallel light beam is disposed in front of an image signal output unit such as a semiconductor laser that irradiates a light beam (laser beam) light-modulated according to an image signal. Has been. This collimator lens is a thin circle, and is placed on a V-shaped groove formed in the lens holding member, and is fixed by an adhesive and a spring pressed from above.
[0003]
[Problems to be solved by the invention]
However, the conventional configuration has a problem that it is difficult to handle the position of the collimator lens in the optical axis direction in the manufacturing process. In other words, since the collimator lens is formed to be relatively thin, there is a problem that the collimator lens is easily tilted when being moved on the V-shaped groove. Therefore, in order to solve this problem, a collimator lens is held in a metal tube called a lens barrel, and the position is adjusted while being shifted together with the lens barrel. However, this configuration requires a work for attaching a collimator lens to the lens barrel, and further requires a lens barrel, which increases the cost.
[0004]
The present invention has been made in view of such conventional problems, and provides a lens holding device capable of easily attaching and adjusting a position of a circular lens such as a collimator lens without using a lens barrel. For the purpose.
[0005]
[Means for Solving the Problems]
In order to solve the above-described conventional problems, the present invention forms a cylindrical lens housing groove for housing a circular lens and longer than the thickness of the lens in the lens holding device. A lens insertion opening having a width substantially equal to the diameter of the lens is formed in a part in the axial direction, and a lens restraining opening having a width smaller than the diameter of the lens is formed in the other part. With this configuration, the lens position can be adjusted by inserting the lens into the lens housing groove through the lens insertion opening, and then moving the lens in the lens housing groove in the axial direction, that is, in the optical axis direction of the lens. At that time, since the lens is held in the cylindrical lens receiving groove, it does not fall down, and since the lens restraining opening is smaller than the outer diameter of the lens, the lens does not pop out, and the lens is mounted and positioned. Adjustment work can be performed easily.
[0006]

The lens can be inserted into the lens receiving groove through the lens insertion opening and then moved in the lens receiving groove in the optical axis direction of the lens to adjust the position of the lens. Can be done.
[0007]
In another embodiment of the present invention, a groove for pouring an adhesive is formed in the lens restraining opening in the lens holding device described above. With this configuration, after positioning the lens at a predetermined position in the lens housing groove, the lens can be fixed with the adhesive by pouring the adhesive through the groove, and the lens can be fixed easily. .
[0008]
According to still another embodiment of the present invention, in the lens holding device having the above-described configuration, a slit plate mounting portion is further formed at a position adjacent to one end of the lens housing groove. With this configuration, the slit plate for focusing the light beam can be held by the lens holding device, and the device configuration can be made compact.
[0009]
