【発明の属する技術分野】
本発明は縁かがり縫いミシンの空環縫い込み装置に関するもので、詳しくは、ニットTシャツ、アウトウェア、肌着等の袖口や脇合わせ、ブリーフやショーツ等の脇合わせなどの縫製に適用されるもので、先行縫製生地の縫製終了後に残存する空環を次に縫製生地の縫い始め端の縫い目中に引き込んで縫い込むことにより、縫い始め端部のほつれを防止するように構成されている縁かがり縫いミシンの空環縫い込み装置に関するものである。

【従来の技術】
この種の縁かがり縫いミシンの空環縫い込み装置として、縫製終了後に針板の縫い目形成用爪部に連なって残存する空環を吸い込み切断した後、その切断空環を吹き返す作業から、その吹き返された空環を吸入保持して縫製生地の縫い始め端の縫い目中に引き込んで縫い込むとともに、余分な空環を切断するまでの作業を全自動化したものは従来から既に知られている。

ところで、従来から知られている縁かがり縫いミシンの空環縫い込み装置においては、図に示すような構成の針板1が使用されていた。この針板1は、針落ち部2とこの針落ち部2を基端として矢印Xで示す縫製進行方向へ向けて突出形成された縫い目形成用の爪部3とを有しており、上記縫い目形成用爪部3の基端近くの手前部には固定下メス4aとガイド5に沿って上下に駆動移動する可動メス4bからなる生地端切断用メス4が設けられている。そして、従来の針板1では、空環が縫い目の中に直線的に縫い込まれて美しい縫い目を形成できるようにするために、針板1の縫い目形成用爪部3の突出長さLを長く、具体的には、8.4mm程度の長さに構成していた。

次に、上記図に示すような構成の針板1を使用した従来の縁かがり縫いミシンの空環縫い込み装置の動作について図10(A)〜(D)を参照して簡単に説明する。
10(A)は、後述する空環保持器に吸入保持された空環Aを空環保持器(図1参照)の移動により針落ち部2よりも手前に引き込み、次の縫製生地Bをその縫い始め端縁eが縫製進行方向Xで上メスガイド5とほぼ同一線上に位置するように針板1上にセットした状態である。この状態でミシンを回転させることにより、縫製生地Bはその縫い始め端縁eが図10(B)に示すように、針落ち部2の位置に到達するまで送られるが、この間は、針板1の爪部3に形成されて該爪部3に巻き付いている空環Aはその巻き付き状態のままにある。さらに、縫製生地Bが縫製進行方向Xに送られることに伴い、空環Aが爪部3から抜け出しながら、縫製生地B上に縫い付けられる。さらに、縫製生地Bが縫製進行方向Xに送られ、爪部3に巻き付いた空環Aが爪部3から抜け出た時点、すなわち、縫製生地Bの縫い始め端縁eが爪部3の先端付近に達した図10(D)の時点で、空環Aを空環保持器により手前側に引張り、次の運針で縫製生地Bと共に空環Aをメス4により切断する。

【発明が解決しようとする課題】
上記のように残存空環を縫製生地の縫い始め端側に引き込んで縫い目中に縫い込む通称、バックタック縫製においては、空環の縫い込み長さをできるだけ短くしたい場合がある。特に、婦人用ショーツの脇合わせのように、薄物地で縫製幅(長さ)が非常に小さい部分のバックタック縫製では、その縫い込み箇所が目立たず、かつ、着用感の面からもソフトな仕上がりを得るために、空環の縫い込み長さをできるだけ短くすることが要望される。

ところが、上記したように縫い目形成用爪部3の突出長さlが長い針板1を使用してなる従来の縁かがり縫いミシンの空環縫い込み装置においては、爪部3から空環Aが抜け出た時点、つまり、縫製生地Bの縫い始め端縁eが爪部3の先端付近に達した位置からメス4までの長さと、爪部3に巻き付いた空環Aが抜け出しにくいこと、ミシンが高速回転しているので空環保持器により空環Aを手前側に引張るタイミングを常に一定とすることが困難であること等のために、メス4で切断する空環Aの長さにばらつきがあった。そのため、図11に示すように、空環Aの縫い目C中への縫い込み長さH2が長くなり、その縫い込み箇所が目立ち、かつ、着用感の面からソフトな仕上がりが得られないという問題があった。

一方、空環Aの縫い込み長さを短くするために、図10(C)のように、空環Aが爪部3から抜け出る前に空環保持器により空環Aを手前側に引張る場合は、図12に示すように、縫い込まれる空環Aの長さはばらつきながらも平均的にその分短くなるが、爪部3に巻き付いている空環部分A′が団子状の塊となって、縫製生地Bの縫い始め端縁eより外方へ突出して綺麗な仕上がりを得ることができず、縫製品の品質向上の阻害要因となっていた。

本発明は上記のような実情に鑑みてなされたもので、針板に対して所定の縫い目形成になんらの支障も生じない簡単な構成改良を施すだけで、縫製生地の縫い始め端に団子状塊となって突出する空環部分の発生を防ぎつつ、その空環の縫い込み長さを短くして、美麗かつソフトな仕上がりを得ることができる縁かがり縫いミシンの空環縫い込み装置を提供することを目的としている。

【課題を解決するための手段】
上記目的を達成するために、本発明に係る縁かがり縫いミシンの空環縫い込み装置は、針落ち部及びこの針落ち部を基端として縫製進行方向へ向けて突出形成された縫い目形成用爪部を有する針板と、この針板上面への縫製生地の有無を検知し、縫製生地有のときミシン回転を許容する生地センサーと、上記針板の縫い目形成用爪部に連なる空環を吸い込むとともに切断し、かつ、その切断後の空環を吸い込み方向とは逆方向へ吹き返す空環切り装置と、この空環切り装置より吹き返された空環を受け取って吸入保持する第1位置とその空環の吸入保持状態で上記針板の縫い目形成用爪部の基端近くの手前部に設けられた生地端切断用メスの近傍位置へ後退して待機する第2位置とこの第2位置よりさらに縫製進行方向とは逆方向へ後退して空環を縫製生地の縫い始め端の縫い目中に引き込む第3位置とに亘って位置移動可能で、かつ、その第3位置において空環の吸入保持を解除可能に構成された空環保持器と、この空環保持器の上記第3位置への移動に伴い縫製生地の縫い始め端の縫い目中に引き込まれる空環を上記生地端切断用メスの切断部に誘導する空環誘導装置とを備えた縁かがり縫いミシンの空環縫い込み装置において、上記針板の縫い目形成用爪部は、針落ち部からの突出長さが5〜6.2mmの範囲の長さに構成されているとともに、その基端が幅広で、先端が尖鋭であり、かつ、これら幅広基端と尖鋭先端とが縫製進行方向に対して傾斜する滑らかな曲線状の外側縁で結ばれて略三角形状に形成されており、また、上記空環誘導装置は、空環に係合可能な略V字状の係合部を有する空環押し具と、この空環押し具を上記空環保持器の第2位置から第3位置への移動に連動して上記生地端切断用メスの切断部へ向けて進出移動させる伸縮駆動手段とから構成されており、かつ、縫製生地が縫製進行方向に送られて、その縫い始め端縁から生地端切断用メスまでの寸法が所定長さとなる位置に達したとき、ミシンの回転が一旦、所定時間に亘って停止されると同時に、上記空環保持器第2位置から第3位置移動して上記第1位置で空環保持器に吸入保持された空環を針落ち部の手前側に引張り、その直後に上記空環誘導装置の空環押し具が生地端切断用メスの切断部へ向けて進出移動して余分な空環を生地端切断用メスの切断部に強制的に押し込み誘導し生地端と同時に切断し、その後、ミシンを通常縫製時の回転速度に復帰させて縫製生地を縫製進行方向へ送りながら空環を縫製生地の縫い始め端の縫い目中に引き込んで該縫い目中に縫い込むように構成していることを特徴とするものである。

上記のような構成の本発明によれば、縫製終了後に残存する空環のうち、針板の縫い目形成用爪部に巻き付いている空環の長さは短い。また、一端側部分が爪部に巻き付いている状態で空環切り装置より切断され吹き返されるとともに空環保持器に吸入保持された空環の他端側部分が、該空環保持器の第3位置への移動に伴い縫製進行方向とは逆方向に引張られて縫製生地の縫い始め端の縫い目中に引き込まれる際、上記爪部に巻き付いている一端側の空環部分は爪部から完全に抜け出ないまでも抜け出しやすい状態となっている。この状態で縫製生地が送られることにより、上記爪部に巻き付いている空環部分はその爪部から抜け出して縫い目中に縫い込まれていくが、このとき、もともと爪部に巻き付いている空環部分の長さが短いうえに、抜け出しやすい状態にあるために、縫製生地の縫い始め端に空環部分が団子状の塊となって突出するといった仕上がり不良の発生を防止することが可能であるとともに、縫い目中への空環の縫い込み長さも短くなり、美麗で、かつ着用感の面でソフトな仕上がりの空環縫い込みが可能となる。
特に、針板の縫い目形成用爪部の針落ち部からの突出長さが5〜6.2mmの範囲の長さで従来の突出長さ(8.4mm程度)よりも短く構成されているだけでなく、その基端が幅広で、先端が尖鋭であり、かつ、これら幅広基端と尖鋭先端とが縫製進行方向に対して傾斜する滑らかな曲線状の外側縁で結ばれて略三角形状に形成されていることによって、縫製進行に伴い爪部に巻き付いている空環を爪部の先端部に引掛けない状態でスムーズに抜け出し案内させることができ、縫製生地の縫い始め端に微小な塊も生じないで非常に美麗な仕上がりとすることができる。

しかも、空環保持器の移動により縫製生地の縫い始め端の縫い目中に引き込まれた状態の空環を縫い目中に縫い込むに際して、縫製生地の縫い始め端縁が針板の爪部付近に達した時点で縫製生地の送りを一旦停止させて空環保持器により手前に引張りながら余分な空環を空環誘導装置を介して生地端切断用メスの切断部に誘導し生地端と同時に切断することにより、縫製生地をオーバーランさせることなく、所定の位置で確実に一旦停止させることが可能であり、これによって、空環の縫い込み長さを確実に短縮化することができる。

また、縫製生地の縫い始め端の縫い目中に引き込まれた空環のうち余分な空環を生地端切断用メスの切断部に誘導させるための空環誘導装置として、空環に係合可能な略V字状の係合部を有する空環押し具と、この空環押し具を上記空環保持器の第2位置から第3位置への移動に連動して上記生地端切断用メスの切断部へ向けて進出移動させる伸縮駆動手段とから構成されている強制誘導形式のものを用いているので、余分な空環をバラツキなく確実に切断部に誘導して切断することができ、空環の縫い込み長さを一層確実かつ安定よく短縮化することができる。

【発明の実施の形態】
以下、本発明の実施の形態を図面にもとづいて説明する。
図1は本発明に係る縁かがり縫いミシンの空環縫い込み装置の主要部の構成を示す斜視図である。同図において、11はクロスプレートで、このクロスプレート11の所定位置には針板1が固定されている。

この針板1の基本的な構成は図に示すものと同様であり、詳述すると、図2に明示するように、針落ち部2とこの針落ち部2を基端として矢印Xで示す縫製進行方向へ向けて突出形成された縫い目形成用の爪部3とを有しており、上記縫い目形成用爪部3の基端近くの手前部には固定下メス4aとガイド5に沿って上下に駆動移動する可動メス4bからなる生地端切断用メス4が設けられている。図に示すものと相違する点は、縫い目形成用爪部3の突出長さL1が縫い目形成に支障のない範囲で可能な限り短く、具体的には、5.6mm程度の長さに構成されていることと、その基端が幅広で、先端が尖鋭であり、かつ、これら幅広基端3aと尖鋭先端3bとが縫製進行方向に対して傾斜する滑らかな曲線状の外側縁3cで結ばれて略三角形状に形成されていることである。

このような構成の針板1のほかに、針板1上面に対して押え腕12を介して駆動昇降自在な押え金13、針棒14を介して上記針落ち部2に対して上下に駆動往復運動自在な針15、針板1の上下に配置された投光器16aと受光器16bとからなり、針板1の上面への縫製生地の有無を検知して縫製生地有り(暗状態)のときミシンの回転を許容する生地センサー16が設けられているとともに、針板1に対して縫製進行方向Xの後方上方部には空環切り装置17が配置され、かつ、針板1の右側部には空環保持器18が配置され、さらに、針板1の左方上方部には空環誘導装置19(図4、図5参照)が配置されている。

上記空環切り装置17は、針板1の縫い目形成用爪部3に巻き付けられた空環部分に連なる空環を吸い込むとともに切断し、かつ、その切断後の空環を吸い込み方向とは逆方向へ向けて吹き返すもので、これは周知であるため、その詳細な構成の説明は省略する。上記空環保持器18は、空環押えシリンダ20を取付けた空環押えシリンダ取付台21から左方へ延出されたエアー吸込管からなり、上記記空環切り装置17より吹き返された空環Aを受け取って吸入保持する図3の第1位置とその空環Aの吸入保持状態で針板1の縫い目形成用爪部3の基端近くの手前部の生地端切断用メス4の近傍位置に後退揺動して待機する図3の第2位置と空環Aの縫い込み動作の開始に伴って第2位置よりもさらに縫製進行方向Xとは逆方向へ後退揺動して空環Aを縫製生地Bの縫い始め端の縫い目中に引き込む図3の第3位置)とに亘って、図示省略した位置を支点としてエアシリンダなどを介して矢印Y方向に駆動揺動自在に構成されている。

また、上記空環誘導装置19は、図4及び図5に明示するように、空環Aに係合可能な略V字状の係合部22を有する空環押し具23と、この空環押し具23を押え金13の斜め左上方位置から斜め右下方の生地端切断用メス4の切断部へ向けて進出移動並びに退却移動させる図示省略したエアシリンダなどの伸縮駆動手段とからなり、通常は図4に示すように、押え金13の斜め左上方位置に待機しており、上記空環保持器18が第2位置から第3位置へ移動することに連動して図5に示すように、斜め右下方へ進出移動して空環Aを生地端切断用メス4の切断部に強制的に押し込み誘導するように構成されている。

さらに、該縁かがり縫いミシンは、縫製生地Bの縫い始め端縁eから生地端縁切断用上メス4までの寸法が所定長さとなる位置に達したとき、ミシンの回転が一旦、所定時間に亘って停止させるといったように、縫製生地Bの縫い始め端の縫い目中に引き込まれた空環Aを縫い目中に縫い込む時の回転速度が、通常縫製時の回転速度よりも低速に設定されている。

次に、上記のように構成された縁かがり縫いミシンの空環縫い込み装置の動作について、図6のタイミングチャート及び図7(A)〜(C)の状態変化図を参照して説明する。

先行する縫製生地の縫い終り端が生地センサー16を通過し該センサー16が非検知(明状態)となった時点で空環切り装置17が吸い込みを開始して残存する空環を吸い込むとともに、公知の糸緩め装置がONして糸を緩める一方、ミシンは予め設定された運針数に達するまで回転(地縫い時の高速回転)を続けその間に針板1の縫い目形成用爪部3に一定長さの空環が形成される。設定運針数に達すると、ミシンの回転が停止し、上記空環切り装置17が吸い込んだ空環を切断するとともに、その切断した空環を吸い込み方向とは逆方向へ吹き出し、その直後に図3の第2位置に待機していた空環保持器18が第1位置に移動するとともに、エア吸い込みを開始して空環切り装置17より噴出される空環Aを吸引保持した後、再び第2位置に移動して待機すると同時に、押え金13は針板1の上面から離間するように上昇する。

次に、上記空環保持器18に吸入保持された空環Aが該空環保持器18の第2位置への移動により針板1の針落ち部2よりも手前に引き込まれた図7(A)に示す状態で、次の縫製生地Bをその縫い始め端縁eが縫製進行方向Xで上メスガイド5とほぼ同一線上に位置するように針板1上にセットし、上記生地センサー16がそれを検知(暗状態)すると、押え金13が針板1の上面に当接するように下降するとともに、糸緩め装置がOFFとなって糸緩めを解除し、縫製の開始が可能となる。

この状態で、ペダルをONすると、ミシンが回転し始めるが、このときのミシンの回転速度は地縫い時の回転速度に比べて低速に設定されているため、縫製生地Bは縫製進行方向Xに向けて、その縫い始め端縁eが針板1の針落ち部2に到達するまでゆっくりと送られることになり、この間に、針板1の縫い目形成用爪部3に巻き付いている空環Aは、図7(B)に示すように、該爪部1aの傾斜する滑らかな曲線状外側縁3cに沿ってその尖鋭先端部3b付近にまで摺動して非常に抜け出しやすい状態になっている。

さらに、縫製生地Bが縫製進行方向Xに送られて、その縫い始め端縁eから生地端縁切断用上メス4までの寸法が所定長さとなる位置に達したとき、ミシンの回転が一旦、所定時間に亘って停止されると同時に、上記空環保持器18が第2位置から図3の第3位置に移動して空環Aを針落ち部2の手前側に引張ることになり、その直後に空環誘導装置19がONし略V字状の係合部22を有する空環押し具23が押え金13の斜め左上方位置から斜め右下方の生地端切断用メス4の切断部へ向けて進出移動し、これに伴い空環Aは上記係合部22に係合されて図7(C)に示すように、生地端切断用メス4の切断部に強制的に押し込み誘導されて余分な空環が生地端と同時に切断されることになり、かつ、空環保持器18による吸引保持は解除される。

しかる後、ミシンが地縫い時の高速回転に復帰して縫製生地Bを所定の縫製進行方向Xに送りながら、その縫い始め端の縫い目中に空環Aを縫い込むことになり、これによって、図8に示すように、縫い始め端に空環Aが団子状の塊となって突出することがないばかりでなく、空環Aの縫い目C中への縫い込み長さH3も非常に短くなり、非常に美麗で、かつ、着用感においてソフトな仕上がりを得ることができる。

さらに、上記のような空環縫い込み後の地縫い時の運針数が所定値に達した時点で、上記空環誘導装置19は、図4に示す斜め左上方位置に復帰移動し、かつ、空環保持器18も第2位置に復帰して次の空環縫い込みに備えられることになる。

また、上記実施の形態では、空環Aの縫い込み時のミシンの回転速度を通常縫製(地縫い)時の回転速度よりも低速に設定することによって、縫製生地Bがその縫い始め端縁eから生地端切断用メス4までの寸法が所定長さとなる位置に達したとき、縫製生地Bをオーバーランさせることなく、所定の位置で確実に一旦停止させることが可能であり、これによって、空環Aの縫い込み長さの短縮化を確実化できる。

なお、縫い目形成用爪部3の突出長さについて、上記実施の形態では、針落ち部2から5.6mm程度の長さとしたが、空環Aの縫い込み長さは使用する糸の伸縮性によっても影響され、伸縮性のある糸の場合は5.6mmよりも少し長目でもよく、伸縮性のない糸の場合は5.6mmよりも少し短目でもよい。その範囲は、おおよそ5mmから6.2mmが許容値である。

【発明の効果】
以上のように、本発明によれば、針板の縫い目形成用爪部の針落ち部からの突出長さを5〜6.2mmの範囲の長さで従来の突出長さ(8.4mm程度)よりも短くするといった極く簡単な構成改良を施すだけで、爪部に巻き付いて残存する空環部分の長さを短くできるとともに、その巻き付いた空環部分を抜け出しやすい状態に保持できるために、空環が縫製生地の縫い始め端に団子状の塊となって残存突出するといった仕上がり不良の発生を防止できる。
しかも、爪部は、その基端が幅広かつ先端が尖鋭で、その幅広基端と尖鋭先端とが縫製進行方向に対して傾斜する滑らかな曲線状の外側縁で結ばれて略三角形状に形成されているので、縫製の進行に伴い爪部に巻き付いている空環を爪部の先端部に引掛からない状態でスムーズに抜け出し案内させることができて、縫製生地の縫い始め端に微小な塊も生じないで非常に美麗な仕上がりとすることができる。したがって、全体として空環の縫い込み長さを可及的に短くして、その空環縫い込み箇所が目立たない美麗で、かつ、着用感においてソフトな仕上がりの空環縫い込み縫製品を得ることができる。
