本発明は、インバータ回路を用いて放電灯を高周波点灯させる放電灯点灯装置に関するものである。

【従来の技術】
図8は、従来から知られている放電灯点灯装置の回路図である。1は直流電源、2は直流電源からの入力を高周波出力に変換するインバータ回路、3はインバータ回路を駆動するドライバ回路、4はインバータ回路の出力端に接続された放電灯7a及び7bを有する(以下、「ランプ」という。)負荷回路、5はカップリングコンデンサ、6a及び6bはバラストコイル、8a及び8bは始動コンデンサである。9a、9b及び9cは抵抗であるが、9aは予熱周波数、定格点灯周波数及び調光点灯周波数を決定し、9bは予熱周波数及び調光点灯周波数を決定し、9cは予熱周波数を決定する。10はドライバ回路3の発振周波数を制御するシーケンス回路、11はコンデンサ、12及び16はコンパレータであり、所定の基準電圧値を有し、この基準電圧値を超えるまで、出力はLoであり、基準電圧値を超えると出力はHiになる。13はタイマー回路で、13aはタイマー制御電源スイッチ、13bはタイマー制御電源、18は調光スイッチである。

[発明が解決しようとする課題]

本発明は直流入力を高周波出力に変換するインバータ回路と、インバータ回路の出力端に接続された放電灯負荷回路と、インバータ回路を駆動するドライバ回路と、電源投入後該ドライバ回路の発振周波数を定格点灯周波数又は定格点灯周波数よりも大きい調光点灯周波数に到達させる制御手段とを備えた放電灯点灯装置であって、前記制御手段は放電灯の予熱終了後に、第1の時定数でドライバ回路の発振周波数を低下させる手段と、放電灯の放電開始後、第1の時定数より小さい第2の時定数でドライバ回路の発振周波数を定格点灯周波数又は調光点灯周波数に到達させる手段とを備え、抵抗と第1のコンデンサからなる積分回路と、抵抗と第1のコンデンサとの接点とグランドとの間に接続された第1のスイッチ手段と、上記積分回路の終端とグランドとの間に接続された第2のスイッチ手段と、第2のスイッチ手段に対して並列に接続された第2のコンデンサとから構成し、第1の時定数は、第1のスイッチ手段を用いて、抵抗と第1のコンデンサからなる積分回路で決定される積分曲線であり、第2の時定数は、第1及び第2のスイッチ手段を用いて、抵抗と第1のコンデンサより容量の小さい第2のコンデンサからなる積分回路で決定される積分曲線にしたものである。

【発明の実施の形態】
実施の形態1.
図1は本発明の実施の形態1の放電灯点灯装置の回路図である。1は直流電源、2は直流入力を高周波出力に変換するインバータ回路、3はインバータ回路を駆動するドライバ回路である。4はインバータ回路の出力端に接続されたランプ負荷回路であり、カップリングコンデンサ5、バラストコイル6a及び6b、ランプ7a及び7b、始動コンデンサ8a及び8bから構成される。9a、9b、9c及び14は抵抗であり、9aは予熱周波数、定格点灯周波数及び調光点灯周波数を決定し、9bは予熱周波数及び調光点灯周波数を決定し、9cは予熱周波数を決定する。又、抵抗14は、点灯する際には不要であるが、消灯する際にコンデンサ15の電荷を放電させるために接続されているものである。従って抵抗9c、14の抵抗値をそれぞれR3,R4とすると、R4はR3に比べて十分小さい。

ランプの予熱終了後は、タイマー回路13の出力が所定の基準電圧値を超えてコンパレータ12の出力がHiとなり、コンデンサ11に電流が流れ、コンデンサ11が充電され、第1の時定数で周波数のシフトが開始される。又、ランプ7a及び7bが放電できる適当な時間経過後にタイマー回路13からの出力により、コンパレータ16の出力がHiからLoとなるようにコンパレータ16の基準電圧値を設定する。このときトランジスタ17がONからOFFとなり、無効となっていた抵抗14及びコンデンサ15が有効となり、コンデンサ15に電流が流れる。この抵抗14、コンデンサ15が有効になると、抵抗14を介してコンデンサ15に充電され、第2の時定数はτ=(R3+R4)×{C1×C2/(C1+C2)}で周波数がシフトする。ここで、抵抗14の抵抗値R4は、抵抗9cの抵抗値R3に比べて十分小さく、又コンデンサ15の容量値C2は、コンデンサ11の容量値C1に比べて十分小さいのでR3≫R4、C1≫C2が成立する。

一方、調光スイッチがONされている場合は、第1の周波数シフトが終了し、トランジスタ17がOFFされると同時に、トランジスタ19もOFFすることにより、トランジスタ20がONとなり、第1の周波数シフトの終了と同時に、抵抗9a及び9bに電流が流れ、周波数はR1,R2で決定され、第2の周波数シフトにより調光点灯周波数f3に直接到達する。従って、第1の周波数シフトの後、第2の周波数シフトで定格点灯周波数を経由せずに直接調光点灯周波数に移行できる。なお、第2の周波数シフトは、τ≒R3×C2の非常に小さい時定数により急速に目標値に到達するものの、トランジスタ17がOFFされた後、トランジスタ20のONと、コンデンサ11の充電完了が同時に行われ、そのタイムラグはほとんど無い。従って、第2の周波数シフトとトランジスタ20のONが同時に行われ、第2の周波数シフトにより調光点灯周波数f3に直接到達し、周波数のシフト中に調光信号を有効にしても、周波数及び光束の変化が不自然とならず、使用する人の視覚に違和感を与えず、図10に示すような不具合は回避できる。
