Claims (4)
- 液晶と、該液晶を挟む第1透明電極と第2透明電極との2枚の透明電極と、を備える液晶素子において、
前記第1透明電極と前記第2透明電極とは、いずれも分割されて、互いに異なるパターンの複数の分割領域から成り、
前記第1及び第2透明電極の前記パターンは、前記分割領域のそれぞれに所定の電位を与えた場合に、入射する光ビームに対して位相差を生じる位相シフト領域の数が、前記第1透明電極と前記第2透明電極とのいずれの前記分割領域の数よりも多くなるように形成され、
前記第1及び第2透明電極に形成される前記分割領域は、同心円状の複数の領域から成り、
前記第1透明電極の各分割領域は、前記第2透明電極の前記分割領域のうちの1つ以上の領域と対向し、且つ、前記第2透明電極の前記分割領域のうち、少なくとも1つの領域は、前記第1透明電極の前記分割領域のうちの2つ以上の領域と対向することを特徴とする液晶素子。 - 少なくとも前記透明電極が存在する部分では、前記第1透明電極と前記第2透明電極とのうちで前記分割領域の数が少ない方の前記透明電極について、前記分割領域のそれぞれから引き出される配線の少なくとも1つが、他方の前記透明電極の前記分割領域から引き出される配線と前記液晶を挟んで重なり合う位置に形成されることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の液晶素子。
- 前記第1透明電極と前記第2透明電極とのうちの少なくとも一方においては、前記分割領域のうち、前記配線の2つ以上が電気的に接続されて等電位となる領域が1組以上設けられ、
前記第1及び第2透明電極と外部に設けられる電極とを接続する接続配線の総数が前記位相シフト領域の数以下となることを特徴とする請求項2に記載の液晶素子。 - 請求項1から請求項3のうちのいずれか1項に記載の液晶素子を備えることを特徴とする光ピックアップ装置。
