【0001】

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
The present invention is intended to as a pulse motor for rotating sequentially switching the excitation phases of the stepping motor or the like, used as driven by a constant current chopper control method, it relates to an image forming equipment according to this recording paper feed system driving source It is.
[0002]
[Prior art]
As a conventional image forming apparatus such as a copying machine, a DC motor or the like is used as a drive source of a paper conveyance system through which recording paper actually passes, and a plurality of transmission lines such as gears and electromagnetic clutches are used to transmit a plurality of paper conveyance paths. A paper conveyance device that drives a conveyance roller has been widely used. In this paper transport device, paper transport control is realized by controlling a paper transport roller by opening and closing an electromagnetic clutch. Recently, there has been a growing need for high-speed processing in image forming apparatuses, and accordingly, high-speed paper transport in a paper transport system has been increasingly demanded.
[0003]
However, in the conventional paper conveyance control method using the electromagnetic clutch or the like to turn on / off the driving of the conveyance roller, the response speed of the electromagnetic clutch is slow, which has been a bottleneck for increasing the paper conveyance speed.
[0004]
On the other hand, in an image forming apparatus, a stepping motor has been widely used as a drive source of a servo system that is small and can be controlled in an open loop.
[0005]
In this stepping motor, when the rotor is placed in a rotating magnetic field generated by sequentially switching the exciting phase current of the winding, torque is generated by the magnetic poles attracting and repelling, and the rotor rotates. It is a motor that rotates while being dragged by a magnetic field. Therefore, the stepping motor rotates by a basic angle with respect to one pulse input if the excitation phase is switched by inputting a pulse signal. Therefore, the stepping motor can be controlled in an open loop, and the system can be greatly simplified compared to other servo actuators that require a feedback system, which is advantageous in terms of cost.
[0006]
For this reason, image forming apparatuses such as copiers employ a configuration in which stepping motors are used as the drive source for the paper transport system by the number of transport rollers and the transport rollers are driven without using an electromagnetic clutch. Yes.
[0007]
[Problems to be solved by the invention]
However, in the stepping motor, the apparatus can be configured in a small size and at a low cost. However, unlike the conventional servo motor, a phenomenon that the rotation of the rotor of the motor cannot be synchronized with the input of the pulse signal occurs. This is called a step-out phenomenon. In general, the step-out phenomenon occurs when the motor is overloaded with respect to the pulse rate of the pulses commanded to the motor.
[0008]
Further, in an image forming apparatus such as a copying machine, the torque required for the motor may vary greatly depending on the paper type in order to cope with various paper types. In particular, since cardboard (200g / m 2) has a higher hardness than ordinary paper (80g / m 2), if the thick paper is transported by the large rollers of the curved surface is usually an attempt to maintain a straight attitude Tension is applied more than paper. For this reason, a large frictional force acts on the curved surface, and a large torque is required.
[0009]
However, in the case of a general stepping motor, as shown in FIG. 7, acceleration and deceleration states in which acceleration torque (including self-starting torque) is added to static torque, rather than a constant speed state governed by static torque. However, it is known that the torque required for the motor is larger. Therefore, if the roller is temporarily stopped by some control during the thick paper transport on the curved surface of the roller and then restarted, an acceleration torque is required in addition to the static torque. The torque increase due to is added, and the load required for the motor becomes larger.
[0010]
On the other hand, today, there is an increasing demand for high-speed image forming apparatuses, and in order to increase the productivity of image formation on both sides of the paper, there is a configuration that realizes the above demand by increasing the number of sheets staying in the machine and circulating. It has become mainstream.
[0011]
Under such a configuration, a large amount of torque is not required for the stepping motor when forming an image of normal paper, which is expected to be overwhelmingly used in the office. You can make it smaller and increase the number of papers that can be circulated in the machine to increase productivity. Also, when forming thick paper images that are expected to be overwhelmingly used in the office, the motor is stopped and restarted when there is heavy paper on the curved surface of the roller where a large torque is required. The distance between the papers can be increased so that it is not necessary. In this way, the number of papers that can be circulated in the machine is reduced and productivity is reduced, but by reducing the torque applied to the motor, a smaller motor can be adopted, and the temperature rise problem and size restrictions are cleared. Furthermore, cost reduction can be realized.
[0012]
The present invention has been made under such a technical background.
[0013]

Stepping motors are generally classified according to the motor structure. The rotor type is a PM type (Permanent Magnet Type) made of a permanent magnet, and the rotor type is a VR type (Variable Reluctance Type) made of a gear-shaped iron core. The rotor part is classified into an HR type (Hybrid Type) in which a gear-shaped iron core and a magnet are used. In addition, stepping motors are classified into two-phase, three-phase, five-phase, etc. according to the drive winding. Further, the excitation mode is classified into one-phase excitation, two-phase excitation, one-two-phase excitation, and the like.
[0037]
In this embodiment, a two-phase excitation type HR stepping motor is employed.

In this variable control, it is effective to variably control the current value when the motor is rotating and when the motor and the motor are stopped so that the signal and the motor phase are not shifted by an external force. In general, lowering the current setting at the time of holding than at the time of holding is advantageous in terms of temperature rise problems and power consumption.

Therefore, in order to reduce the torque increased by the cardboard selection, while the cardboard is on the curved surface, the image forming operation is performed while maintaining a distance between the sheets that does not cause a stop / restart operation that causes torque fluctuation. The distance between sheets is set to 1 so as to be executed, and the sheet feeding timing is controlled (step 504). In this way, it is possible to deal with cardboard that requires a large torque without changing the motor rating and the current setting value.

When an image is formed on one side and the recording paper is conveyed to the reversing
[0056]
When normal paper (thin paper) passes through the path B, the recording paper is flexible and is conveyed along the curved surface, and tension is not applied to the outside of the curved surface. And the tension is considerably applied to the outside of the curved surface. As a result, a frictional force is generated between the conveyance path and the thick paper, and a load is added to the stepping motor that rotationally drives the reverse
[0057]
When the roller is temporarily stopped and restarted by image formation control (for example, registration control) of other sheets existing in the machine in a state of load due to this frictional force, as shown in FIG. In addition to torque, acceleration torque (including self-induced torque) is required, and furthermore, the load weight is added to the friction, and a large torque is required.
[0058]
Therefore, if the control is performed so that the conveyance is not interrupted while the thick paper is present on the curved surface of the roller, the load of the friction is increased, but the starting torque of the motor is reduced, and the torque applied to the motor is different from that of the thick paper. It can be suppressed to the same or less than the normal sequence of recording paper. As an example thereof, the method based on the sheet interval control is effective. According to this method, the distance between the papers that can maximize the image forming speed while satisfying the necessary minimum time that the conveyance is not interrupted when the thick paper is present on the curved surface of the roller is calculated, The paper feed timing can be controlled based on the calculation result.
[0059]
【The invention's effect】
As described above, according to the present invention, when an image is formed on a thick paper recording medium, which is expected to be overwhelmingly low in use frequency, a high torque is required for the motor on the curved surface of the conveying roller. Since the distance between the recording media has been increased so that the stop / restart operation is not required, the number of recording media that can be circulated in the machine is reduced and the productivity is reduced, but the torque applied to the motor is reduced. By suppressing it, a smaller motor can be adopted, temperature rise problems and size restrictions can be cleared, and cost reduction can be realized.
