Description
Claims (16)
- 内燃機関の燃料システムにおいて使用するための燃料インジェクタ(10)であって、
高圧燃料の供給通路(24)と、
前記インジェクタ(10)からの燃料給送を制御するためにニードル弁座部(28)に係合可能であるニードル弁(26)を含み、該ニードル弁に関連した面が制御チャンバ(42)内の燃料圧力にさらされている、噴射ノズル(25)と、
前記供給通路(24)及び前記制御チャンバ(42)の間に連通をもたらす第1の制限された流路(44,44a)と、
前記制御チャンバ(42)内の燃料圧力を制御するための制御弁(48)と、
高圧燃料が前記供給通路(24)及び前記制御チャンバ(42)の間に流れるのを許容するよう、前記制御弁(48)の制御を受けて前記供給通路(24)及び前記制御チャンバ(42)の間に連通をもたらす追加流動手段(47,46)と、を備え、
前記追加流動手段(47,46)は第2の制限された流路(46,46a)を含み、前記制御弁は、燃料が前記第2の制限された流路(46,46a)を通り(i)前記制御チャンバ(42)及び低圧ドレン(18)の間に流れるか、或いは(ii)前記供給通路(24)及び前記制御チャンバ(42)の間に流れるかを制御するよう作動可能であり、
前記制御弁(48)は、第1及び第2の弁座部(70,74)のそれぞれ1つと係合するための第1及び第2の着座面(68,72)を画成する制御弁部材(52)を有しており、前記制御弁(48)は、前記供給通路(24)が前記追加流動手段(47,46)を介して前記制御チャンバ(42)と連通する第1作動位置を有しており、該第1作動位置においては、前記第2の制限された流路(46,46a)を介する前記制御チャンバ(42)及び前記低圧ドレン(18)間の連通が阻止され、
前記ニードル弁(26)が前記ニードル弁座部(28)から離れて所定距離移動すると、前記第2の制限された流路(46,46a)を介する前記制御チャンバ(42)及び前記低圧ドレン間の連通を断つための手段(26a,58)を更に備えており、それにより噴射中の前記制御チャンバ(42)及び前記低圧ドレン(28)間の加圧燃料の損失を制限する燃料インジェクタ。 - 前記第1の制限された流路(44,44a)を介する前記制御チャンバ(42)及び前記供給通路(24)の間の連通は連続的である、請求項1に記載の燃料インジェクタ。
- 前記制御弁(48)は、前記制御チャンバ(42)が前記第2の制限された流路(46,46a)を介して前記低圧ドレン(18)と連通する第2作動位置を有しており、該第2作動位置においては、前記追加流動手段(47,46)を介する前記供給通路(24)及び前記制御チャンバ(42)の間の連通が阻止されている、請求項1又は2に記載の燃料インジェクタ。
- 前記制御弁部材(52)は、前記第2の制限された流路(46,46a)が前記低圧ドレン(18)と連通するときに燃料が流れる穿孔(76)を備えている、請求項3に記載の燃料インジェクタ。
- 前記第1及び第2の着座面(68,72)のうちの少なくとも一方は切頭円錐形のものである、請求項1〜4のいずれか1項に記載の燃料インジェクタ。
- 前記第1の着座面(68)は、切頭円錐形のものであり、前記第2の着座面(72)は、前記制御弁部材(52)の端面により画定されている、請求項5に記載の燃料インジェクタ。
- 前記所定距離は前記ニードル弁(26)の最大リフトである、請求項1〜6のいずれか1項に記載の燃料インジェクタ。
- 前記第2の制限された流路(46,46a)は、前記制御チャンバ(42)と連通する入口ポート(58)を画成しており、前記ニードル弁(26)は、前記ニードル弁座部(28)から離れて、前記ニードル弁(26)に関連した更なる面が前記入口ポート(58)を覆う位置へと移動可能である、請求項1〜7のいずれか1項に記載の燃料インジェクタ。
- 前記ニードル弁(26)は、前記入口ポート(58)を覆うための前記ニードル弁(26)の前記更なる面を画成する関連の末端片(26a)を有している、請求項8に記載の燃料インジェクタ。
- 前記末端片(26a)は前記ニードル弁(26)の一体部分を形成している、請求項9に記載の燃料インジェクタ。
- 前記制御弁(48)は電磁アクチュエータ(54)を含んでいる、請求項1〜10のいずれか1項に記載の燃料インジェクタ。
- 前記制御弁(48)は圧電アクチュエータ(54)を含んでいる、請求項1〜10のいずれか1項に記載の燃料インジェクタ。
- 前記ニードル弁(26)に関連した前記面は、前記ニードル弁(26)自体により画成されるか、或いは前記ニードル弁(26)に結合されたピストンにより画成されている、請求項1〜12のいずれか1項に記載の燃料インジェクタ。
- 前記噴射ノズル(25)及び前記制御弁(48)は共通のインジェクタユニット(10)内に形成されている、請求項1〜13のいずれか1項に記載の燃料インジェクタ。
- 請求項1〜14のいずれか1項に記載の複数の燃料インジェクタと、該複数のインジェクタに燃料を供給するための共通の高圧燃料源とを含むコモンレール式燃料システム。
- 請求項1〜14のいずれか1項に記載の複数の燃料インジェクタと、該複数のインジェクタの各々のための専用高圧ポンプ手段とを含み、該専用高圧ポンプ手段の各々は、関連のインジェクタの前記インジェクタ供給通路(24)に加圧燃料を供給するよう配置されている、燃料噴射システム。
