上記図5及び図6のように構成する車両用内装材においては、その下側内装材に棚部102とともに、ボックス型の灰皿収容部105を一体に形成しているために、たとえば上下金型からなる成形金型を用いてプレスモールド成形により下側内装材を成形する場合、灰皿収容部105がボックス型形状を呈しているためにアンダーカット成形となってしまい、成形金型にスライド型を用いざるを得ず、成形コストの上昇のひとつの要因を成していた。
