【0001】

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
The present invention relates to a dosimeter holder that houses a dosimeter element that generates fluorescence corresponding to a radiation exposure dose, and is installed on a measurement object.
[0002]
[Prior art]
When installing and operating facilities such as nuclear reactors, accelerators, X-ray generators, radioisotopes, etc., it is necessary to make every effort to manage radiation in order to protect the living body from radiation. In particular, workers working in various facilities as described above and users of the facility must manage the radiation exposure dose to be within a predetermined allowable range. Dosimeters are used for such radiation management. This dosimeter is installed at a predetermined number of locations within the facility, or carried by workers and users to regularly read the exposure doses of workers and users, thereby managing the doses of workers and users. It is something that can be done.
[0003]
One of such widely used dosimeters is a fluorescent glass dosimeter. In general, as a fluorescent glass dosimeter, a glass element made of phosphate glass containing silver ions is used. This glass element generates a phenomenon (radioluminescence: RPL) that emits fluorescence when excited by ultraviolet rays having a wavelength of 300 to 400 nm after being irradiated with radiation and activated. Since the fluorescence intensity at this time is proportional to the radiation exposure dose received by the glass element, the radiation exposure dose can be measured by detecting the fluorescence intensity. In particular, such a fluorescent glass dosimeter is characterized in that the generated RPL center can be read repeatedly without disappearing even by a reading operation.
[0004]
In measurement of such a fluorescent glass dosimeter, the light projected from the ultraviolet excitation light source is passed through an optical filter to selectively extract ultraviolet rays having a predetermined wavelength and then enter one surface of the fluorescent glass element. At this time, the fluorescence emitted from the fluorescent glass dosimeter is passed through an optical filter to selectively pass light in a predetermined wavelength range, and then photoelectrically converted by a photomultiplier tube to an electric level at a level substantially proportional to the fluorescence intensity. A signal is obtained, and the fluorescence intensity and thus the radiation exposure dose is measured from the level of the electric signal.
[0005]
By the way, in recent years, small fluorescent glass dosimeters have been used for dose evaluation in radiotherapy and diagnosis, dose measurement in animal experiments, fine dose distribution measurement, various experiments, and the like. Such a small fluorescent glass dosimeter is usually installed on a measurement object in a state where the fluorescent glass element is housed in a dosimeter holder. Such a dosimeter holder is generally a cylindrical container with a cap, on which the same holder ID as the identification ID attached to the fluorescent glass element is displayed.
[0006]
[Problems to be solved by the invention]
When the fluorescent glass dosimeter is housed in the dosimeter holder as described above and placed on the measurement object and irradiated with radiation locally, for example, when irradiating with a spot having a diameter of about 1 mm, the internal fluorescent glass It is necessary that the radiation irradiation range of the element matches the fluorescence reading range by the fluorescence reading device.
[0007]
However, in the conventional dosimeter holder, the center position of the fluorescence reading range of the fluorescent glass element housed in the holder was not able to be confirmed from the outside. Then, it was not known whether the radiation irradiation range and the fluorescence reading range could be matched. Further, since the fluorescence reading range of the fluorescent glass element housed inside the dosimeter holder is unknown, the irradiation position of the radiation by the experimental lamp or the like cannot be accurately adjusted to the fluorescence reading range. Therefore, there is a case where the radiation irradiation range and the fluorescence reading range are deviated so that the accurate radiation irradiation amount cannot be measured.
[0008]
The present invention has been proposed in order to solve the above-described problems of the prior art, and the object thereof is to make the irradiation position of radiation coincide with the fluorescence reading position of the dosimeter element housed inside. It is an object of the present invention to provide a dosimeter holder that can be easily and accurately installed on a measurement object.

[0021]
Here, for example, as shown in FIG. 6, even when the irradiation range Y of the radiation to the fluorescent glass element X is narrower than the fluorescence reading range Z, the entire irradiation range Y of the radiation is not in the fluorescence reading range Z. Alternatively, as shown in FIG. 7, even if the irradiation range Y of the radiation to the fluorescent glass element X is wider than the fluorescence reading range Z, if a part of the irradiation range Y is not within the fluorescence reading range Z, actual radiation irradiation is performed. The fluorescence reading amount becomes smaller than the amount.
However, when the fluorescent glass element X is housed and used in the dosimeter holder of the present embodiment, the fluorescence of the dosimeter holder, and hence the fluorescent glass element X, is based on the mark formed on the outer surface of the dosimeter holder. The reading range Z can be accurately set so as to coincide with the irradiation range Y of the radiation to the measurement object.

Moreover, as shown to FIG. 8 (A)-(D), various things can be comprised for the outer diameter and length of a dosimeter holder according to the fluorescent glass element X to be used. Such various dosimeter holders have different reading positions in the fluorescent glass elements to be accommodated, but based on the marks of the

The shape and material of the dosimeter holder are not limited to those shown in the above embodiment, and various types can be configured in consideration of the shape, desired strength, weight, etc. of the fluorescent glass element. . Further, the fluorescence reading device to be used is not limited to the one exemplified in the above embodiment.
[0027]
Furthermore, the dosimeter holder of the present invention is also applicable to a thermoluminescence dosimeter (TLD). This is because free electrons and holes are generated when radiation is applied to a solid crystal produced by mixing specific impurities, and when heated, the electrons are released from the capture center and recombined with the holes to emit light. The thermoluminescence phenomenon is used. Since the amount of light emitted by thermoluminescence and the absorbed energy of radiation have a proportional relationship within a certain dose range, the amount of light emitted during heating and heating is measured from the solid crystal after radiation exposure. The radiation dose can be determined. Such a solid crystal is stored in the dosimeter holder according to the present invention, placed on a measurement object, exposed to radiation, and then read by a fluorescence reader, thereby obtaining the same effect as described above. .
[0028]
【The invention's effect】
As explained above, according to the present invention, the radiation reading position of the dosimeter element housed inside can be easily and accurately placed on the measurement object so that the radiation irradiation position can be matched. A dosimeter holder can be provided.
