【0001】

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
The present invention relates to an improvement in an electric power steering apparatus.
[0002]
[Prior art]
In recent years, in order to reduce the steering force of the steering wheel to give a comfortable steering feeling, an electric power steering device has been frequently used and has also been adopted for large vehicles. However, when the electric power steering device is adopted in a large vehicle, the auxiliary torque by the electric motor increases. For this reason, a large electric motor is required. There is a limit to disposing a large electric motor in a narrow space of a vehicle. In addition, it is necessary to use a large-capacity motor drive circuit, which increases the cost.
As a technique for improving such a point, an electric power steering apparatus has been developed in which one large electric motor is changed to two small electric motors (see, for example, Patent Document 1).

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION Accordingly, an object of the present invention is to provide an electric power steering apparatus including two electric motors, and easily adjust the two pinion shafts to the theoretical pinion shaft center while suppressing the management man-hours. An object of the present invention is to provide a technique capable of improving the meshing state of the mechanism.
[0011]
[Means for Solving the Problems]
In order to achieve the above object, a first aspect of the present invention is directed to a rack shaft coupled to a steering wheel, a first pinion shaft coupled to the rack shaft via a first rack and pinion mechanism, and an auxiliary torque coupled to the first pinion shaft. A first electric motor connected to add a second shaft, a second pinion shaft connected to the rack shaft via a second rack and pinion mechanism, and a second electric motor connected to the second pinion shaft to add auxiliary torque. And an electric power steering apparatus comprising a rack shaft, first and second rack and pinion mechanisms, and a housing that houses the first and second pinion shafts,
The housing is divided into two in the longitudinal direction of the rack shaft, and the two-divided housing is divided into the first rack and pinion mechanism and the first housing portion on the side storing the first pinion shaft, and the second rack and pinion. The mechanism and the second housing part on the side where the second pinion shaft is accommodated, and the first housing part and the second housing part, Around the rack axis It is characterized by being coupled so as to be relatively adjustable in angle.
[0012]
A first housing part and a second housing part, Around the rack axis Even if one or both of the actual centers of the first and second pinion shafts are deviated from the theoretical pinion shaft center, the angle adjustment is relatively possible. , Around the rack axis By relatively rotating the first housing part and the second housing part, the angle can be relatively adjusted.
[0013]
As a result, the first and second pinion shafts can be easily matched with the theoretical pinion shaft centers, and the meshing state of the first and second rack and pinion mechanisms can be made better. Therefore, in order to increase the meshing state of each rack and pinion mechanism, it is not necessary to significantly increase the processing accuracy and assembly accuracy of the first and second pinion shafts, the first and second rack and pinion mechanisms, and the housing.
[0014]
As described above, it is possible to easily match the two pinion shafts with the theoretical pinion shaft center while suppressing the processing man-hours and the management man-hours, thereby making the meshing state of each rack and pinion mechanism better.
