BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
The present invention is an apparatus used to mount an electronic component such as a semiconductor chip on a circuit board, a coating apparatus for applying cream solder, which is a liquid material, according to a pre-formed circuit pattern, and the cream solder, etc. The present invention relates to an improvement in an electronic component mounting apparatus for positioning and mounting an electronic component along a circuit pattern to which is applied.
[0002]
[Prior art]
A conventional coating apparatus is configured as shown in FIG. 8. In this apparatus, an adhesive such as cream solder is applied on a preset pattern prior to the mounting of a chip component or the like on a printed wiring board. .

[0013]
[Problems to be solved by the invention]
As described above, in the conventional coating apparatus, when the nozzle is attached to the syringe, the nozzle is not attached straight to the substrate surface in the vertical direction, but forms a certain inclination angle α with respect to the vertical direction, and is eccentric. In some cases, it was attached.
[0014]
By the way, in the coating device, the controller controls the XYZ moving mechanism on the assumption that the nozzle is correctly attached to the syringe in the vertical direction. Therefore, if the nozzle is already attached with a certain inclination angle α from the vertical direction to the substrate surface and is eccentric by ΔL at the tip, even if an apparently constant clearance H is obtained, the application pattern This results in a displacement from the position, that is, a displacement ΔL in the lateral direction.
[0015]
In recent years, circuit patterns on a substrate have been miniaturized, and further improvements in coating accuracy and mounting accuracy have been required in terms of product yield and reliability.
[0016]
Therefore, as described above, not only the height position of the nozzle tip with respect to the substrate surface but also a positional deviation from the vertical direction causes a deviation with respect to the coating pattern and the component mounting pattern, which significantly reduces the coating accuracy and mounting accuracy. It was.
[0017]
Of course, the worker can visually check the inclination of the nozzle and rework it so that it is installed more correctly, but the work is not only complicated, but it can also be confirmed by visual inspection of the worker. Adjustment has an upper limit of accuracy, and improvement has been demanded.
[0018]
The misalignment of the nozzle tip is caused when the nozzle is installed, but in addition to the new replacement of the nozzle, a plurality of nozzles are mounted on the head in advance, and the application is configured to be switched by rotation. The same applies to the apparatus or the electronic component mounting apparatus.
[0019]
Therefore, an object of the present invention is to provide a high-precision coating apparatus and electronic component mounting apparatus that are not affected by the eccentricity or displacement of the nozzle tip position due to so-called nozzle replacement or nozzle switching.
[0020]
[Means for Solving the Problems]
A first invention is a coating apparatus that applies a liquid material such as an adhesive to a substrate surface according to a coating pattern, and is attached to a syringe that stores the liquid material and discharges the liquid material toward the substrate surface; A position detector that images the nozzle from the lateral direction and detects from the imaging screen the height position of the nozzle tip and the amount of positional deviation between the vertical line from the nozzle mounting position to the substrate surface and the nozzle tip position. And a controller for correcting the position of the syringe based on the height position of the nozzle tip from the position detector and the positional deviation amount, and the controller controls the rotation of the syringe. The position detector picks up two picked-up images from different angles, and the distance from the reference height position of the image center to the nozzle tip from the two image patterns of the picked-up nozzles Determined, along with obtaining a substrate surface and the height of the nozzle to the tip from this distance, from the positional deviation amount with respect to the vertical direction in the nozzle tip is obtained by calculating the eccentricity distance from the vertical direction of the nozzle tip, characterized in that .
[0021]
As described above, the coating apparatus of the present invention corrects the position of the syringe based on the height position of the nozzle tip and the amount of displacement, and thus follows the coating pattern with high accuracy regardless of the eccentricity of the nozzle tip. A liquid material can be applied.
[0022]
According to a second aspect of the present invention, there is provided an electronic component mounting apparatus for mounting a chip component or the like on a substrate, a transfer nozzle that is attached to the mounting head and sucks and transfers the electronic component mounted on the substrate surface, and the transfer nozzle is disposed horizontally. A position detector that picks up an image from the direction and detects a positional deviation amount between a vertical position from the transfer nozzle mounting position and a vertical line to the substrate surface and the transfer nozzle tip position from the image pickup screen. A controller for correcting the position of the mounting head based on the height position of the tip of the transfer nozzle from the position detector and the positional deviation amount, and the controller controls the rotation of the mounting head. Then, the picked-up images of the two images are taken with respect to the position detector from different angles, and from the two image patterns of the picked-up transfer nozzles, the transfer nozzle tip from the reference height position at the center of the image From this distance, the height from the substrate surface to the tip of the transfer nozzle is obtained, and the eccentric distance from the vertical direction of the transfer nozzle tip is calculated from the amount of misalignment with respect to the vertical direction at the tip of the transfer nozzle. It is characterized by seeking .
[0023]
As described above, the electronic component mounting apparatus according to the present invention corrects the position of the mounting head based on the height position and displacement amount of the transfer nozzle tip, so that the electronic component can be designated regardless of the eccentricity of the transfer nozzle tip. It can be mounted with high accuracy and stable orientation with respect to the position.
