【0042】
同様にして、次に送信する2番目に送信するPP(2)に続くN/2個のサンプルデータもについても、列方向に{PP(2),RR(1)}、{PP(2),RR(2)}、{PP(2),RR(3)}、…、{PP(2),RR(N/2)}のように格納する。

As a radar that satisfies such a requirement, there is a radar based on a frequency modulation interruption method (or FMICW method: Frequency Modulated Interrupted Wave) (hereinafter referred to as FMICW method).
[0003]
A conventional radar based on the FMICW method uses a continuous wave subjected to frequency modulation intermittently. In the radar apparatus according to this method, the up phase (modulation frequency rise period: a modulation section in which the frequency increases as time passes) and the down phase (modulation frequency fall period: a modulation section in which the frequency decreases as time passes). An external target is irradiated with a frequency-modulated signal wave consisting of Next, while receiving the transmission wave reflected by the external target as a reception signal, the beat signal is generated by obtaining the frequency difference between the reception signal and the local signal obtained by shifting the transmission wave from the original signal by the Doppler frequency. . Then, by processing this beat signal, the relative distance and relative speed of the external target are calculated (for example, Patent Document 1).

[0005]
[Problems to be solved by the invention]
In general, the beat signal of a radar device based on the FMICW method is expressed as a complex number as shown in the following equation.
[Expression 1]
[0006]
By the way, in the conventional FMICW radar device, the real part and the imaginary part of the complex number represented by the equations (1) and (2) are sampled simultaneously. Therefore, in order to perform the signal processing for the real part and the signal processing for the imaginary part, it is necessary to provide one system each of components such as a mixer, an A / D converter, a memory, and a range gate. As a result, the number of component parts increases, and there is a problem that it is difficult to reduce the size of the radar device in order to adapt it to a vehicle-mounted application.
[0007]
The present invention has been made to solve the above problems. That is, a single signal processing system is used for acquiring real part data of a beat signal in a predetermined time zone, and is used for obtaining imaginary part data of a beat signal in other time zones. As a result, a radar apparatus based on the FMICW method with a reduced number of parts is provided.
[0008]
[Means for Solving the Problems]
The radar apparatus according to the present invention includes a signal generation means for intermittently switching a continuous wave composed of an up phase and a down phase to a transmission signal for irradiating an external target and a local signal,
The transmission signal reflected by the external target is received as a reception signal, and a real part of the beat signal is generated in the first period from the reception signal and the local signal, and an imaginary part of the beat signal is generated in the second period. Beat signal generating means for generating a section;
Signal processing means for obtaining a relative distance and a relative speed of the external target based on the beat signal is provided.

[0029]
On the other hand, when T = 4 × τ + Δτ (where Δτ <2 × τ), the switch 9 and the switch 11 are connected to the I terminal and the Q terminal every time τ in the time period of 4 × τ to T. The time to connect alternately cannot be obtained. However, at

Next, the data I corresponding to the real part in the equations (5) and (6) u (T) and data Q corresponding to imaginary part u The characteristic of (t) will be described. As is clear from the equations (5) and (6), the data I corresponding to the real part u (T) and data Q corresponding to the imaginary part u The phase difference from (t) is 2πUτ. In practice, this phase difference 2πUτ is negligible and can be ignored.
[0031]
Specifically, for example, the modulation time T, the frequency sweep width B, and the transmission wavelength λ are set based on the formula (3) so that the range of the beat frequency U is about ± several tens kHz, and the switch If the
[0032]
Therefore, the data I corresponding to the real part of the beat signal u (T) and data Q corresponding to imaginary part u (T) may be regarded as matching the real part and the imaginary part of the conventional FMICW radar device represented by the equation (1).
[0033]
Therefore, the data I corresponding to the real part of the beat signal u (T) and data Q corresponding to imaginary part u Since (t) corresponds to the real part and the imaginary part of the equation (1), the beat signal generated by the
[0034]
Further, a frequency power spectrum is obtained for a beat signal generated by the mixer 12 by a technique such as fast Fourier transform, and a frequency having a power peak equal to or higher than a preset threshold is set to a beat frequency corresponding to the external target 8. As in the conventional FMICW radar device, correct sign information can also be obtained.
[0035]
Therefore, in the following explanation, I u (T) is simply referred to as real part or real part data, and similarly Q u (T) will be simply referred to as imaginary part or imaginary part data.
[0036]
Next, also in the down phase, the

I in the up phase u (T) and Q u Similarly to the phase difference 2πUτ with respect to (t), I d (T) and Q d The phase difference 2πDτ with respect to (t) is a very small value. Therefore I d (T) and Q d (T) can be regarded as coincident with the real part and the imaginary part of the beat signal of the radar device according to the conventional FMICW method given by the equation (2).
[0038]
Therefore, in the following explanation, I in the up phase u (T) and Q u Like (t), I d (T) is simply referred to as real part or real part data, and similarly Q d (T) will be simply referred to as imaginary part or imaginary part data.
[0039]
In this way, the switch 9 and the switch 11 are switched between the I terminal and the Q terminal every time τ that is half the

【The invention's effect】
The radar apparatus according to the present invention generates a real part of a beat signal from a received signal from an external target and a local signal in a predetermined period, and generates an imaginary part of the beat signal after the predetermined period elapses. Thus, the use of the beat signal generation means is switched. As a result, the real part and the imaginary part of the beat signal can be processed by the same part, and the number of parts can be reduced.
