Description
この発明は、例えばインクジェット方式による印刷などによって金属光沢を有する印刷面を形成することが可能な、新規なインク組成物に関するものである。 The present invention relates to a novel ink composition capable of forming a printing surface having a metallic luster by, for example, printing by an inkjet method.
近年、パーソナルコンピュータの出力印刷から、例えば商業広告などの、大型印刷物の印刷までの幅広い分野で、いわゆるインクジェット方式による印刷が利用されている。インクジェット方式の印刷では、紙等の被印刷体の上に、色の3原色であるシアン、マゼンタ、イエローの3色、あるいはこの3色を基本とする4色以上の多色のインク組成物を用いてインクパターンを印刷して、各色の混色によってフルカラー画像などを表現している。 In recent years, so-called inkjet printing has been used in a wide range of fields from output printing of personal computers to printing of large prints such as commercial advertisements. In ink-jet printing, a three-color ink composition of three primary colors, cyan, magenta, and yellow, or a multi-color ink composition of four or more colors based on these three colors is formed on a substrate such as paper. Ink patterns are used to print a full color image or the like by mixing colors.
For example, in Patent Document 1, a metal vapor deposition film laminated on a resin film is finely pulverized by stretching the resin film to produce flaky metal particles, which are dispersed in a dispersion medium as a colorant. Ink compositions are disclosed. Patent Document 2 discloses an ink composition in which particles having a multilayer structure produced by pulverizing a laminate of two or more layers of a metal vapor deposition film and a resin layer by the same method are dispersed in a dispersion medium as a colorant. Things are disclosed. Further, Patent Document 3 discloses an ink composition in which one of the above metal particles is encapsulated in a microcapsule and dispersed in a dispersion medium as a colorant.
However, the flaky metal particles used in the ink composition of Patent Document 1 have a large thickness of about 0.08 to 0.12 μm and a maximum length of about 0.8 to 2 μm at the example level. Moreover, as can be seen from the above production method, it is flat and irregular, and the shape and size are not uniform among the particles.
Further, the particles having a multilayer structure used in the ink composition of Patent Document 2 have a thickness of about 0.75 to 1.1 μm and a maximum length of about 3.8 to 4.0 μm at an example level. It is flat and irregular, and the shape and size are not uniform among the particles. Furthermore, the microcapsule used in the ink composition of Patent Document 3 is a larger particle having a diameter of about 5 to 70 μm.
For this reason, all of these particles have insufficient dispersion stability with respect to aqueous dispersion media such as water, which are frequently used in ink compositions of ink jet printers especially for personal computers. May cause problems such as separation and sedimentation before use by other users.
In recent years, the printing quality of inkjet printing has been rapidly increasing, and in order to achieve high image quality, it is necessary to make the ink composition droplets ejected from the printer head as small as possible. The diameter tends to be miniaturized. However, the above-mentioned large, flat, irregular shape, and particles with irregular shapes and sizes between the particles cannot sufficiently cope with such miniaturization and are likely to cause clogging of the head. There is also a problem.
Further, even when printing is performed using a conventional ink composition containing large-sized particles as described above, the printed surface has a noticeable granularity of individual particles, such as a metal lump or metal foil, There is also a problem that it is difficult to express a smooth, good metallic luster such as the surface of the metal film.
Therefore, the inventor examined the use of metal colloid as a colorant for expressing metallic luster. For example, water-based metal colloids reduce and deposit metal in an aqueous solution by mixing an aqueous solution containing metal ions and a reducing agent, or spraying an aqueous solution containing metal ions and contacting with a hydrogen flame. Manufactured.
The metal particles contained in the metal colloid have a uniform particle size because the above reduction reaction proceeds uniformly in the system, and the particle size distribution is sharp. In addition, the metal particles contained in the metal colloid have a substantially spherical shape. Moreover, by adjusting the reaction conditions, the particle size of the metal particles can be made smaller than the conventional one. In addition, the metal particles contained in the metal colloid are precipitated and produced by the reduction reaction in water as described above, and the surface thereof has hydrophilicity, so that the dispersion stability with respect to an aqueous dispersion medium such as water is also improved. Are better.
As the metal colloid, those containing various metal particles matched to the metallic luster color to be expressed can be used. In particular, since silver particles have a brighter color tone than other metal particles, a metal colloid containing silver particles, that is, an ink composition using silver colloid as a colorant, expresses a metallic luster. Suitable for However, a printed surface formed using an ink composition containing silver colloid has a problem that it has a good metallic luster just after printing, but discolors in a relatively short period of time.
この発明の目的は、着色剤として変色しやすい銀コロイドを用いているにもかかわらず、印刷面が比較的短期間で変色してしまうのを防止して、当該印刷面に、これまでよりも長期間にわたって良好な金属光沢を維持させることができる新規なインク組成物を提供することにある。 The object of the present invention is to prevent the printed surface from being discolored in a relatively short period of time despite the use of a silver colloid that is easily discolored as a colorant. An object of the present invention is to provide a novel ink composition capable of maintaining a good metallic luster over a long period of time.
First aspect of the present invention, a silver colloid, viewed contains a tarnish inhibitor for preventing discoloration of silver, as the discoloration preventing agent, a water system characterized by using a 2-mercaptobenzothiazole or a salt thereof Ink composition.
Invention of Claim 2 contains a silver colloid and the discoloration prevention agent which prevents discoloration of silver, 2-mercaptobenzothiazole and its salt, 2-heptadecylimidazole, thionalide, and an alkyl group as said discoloration prevention agent An organic solvent-based ink composition using at least one compound selected from the group consisting of alkyl mercaptans having 12 to 20 carbon atoms.
A third aspect of the present invention is the ink composition according to the first or second aspect , wherein a silver colloid having a median diameter of 0.04 μm or less by a laser diffraction scattering method is used .
The printing surface formed by the ink composition using silver colloid as a colorant changes color in a short period of time because silver particles react with sulfur gas in the air (sulfur gas), This is because a black silver sulfide film is produced. On the other hand, when the anti-discoloring agent is contained in the ink composition as described in claim 1, the function of the anti-discoloring agent causes the progress of the sulfurization reaction on the surface of the silver particles after printing, The formation of the accompanying silver sulfide film can be suppressed.
このため請求項1および2記載の発明のインク組成物によれば、着色剤として変色しやすい銀コロイドを用いているにもかかわらず、印刷面が比較的短期間で変色してしまうのを防止して、当該印刷面に、これまでよりも長期間にわたって良好な金属光沢を維持させることが可能となる。また多くの変色防止剤は銀粒子の結着剤的な機能もするため、銀粒子の、被印刷体への定着性を向上することもできる。 For this reason, according to the ink composition of the first and second aspects of the present invention, it is possible to prevent the printed surface from being discolored in a relatively short period of time despite the use of a silver colloid that is easily discolored as a colorant. As a result, it is possible to maintain a good metallic luster on the printed surface for a longer period than before. In addition, since many anti-discoloring agents also function as a binder for silver particles, the fixability of silver particles to a printing medium can be improved.
According to the invention described in claim 3 , since the silver colloid contains a very small silver particle having a median diameter d50 by the laser diffraction scattering method of 0.04 μm or less, the discoloration preventing function by the discoloration preventing agent is used. Can be made more effective. In addition, the fixability of silver particles to a printing medium can be improved.
For example, when the ink composition is printed on the surface of a porous substrate such as paper, the following is considered. That is, silver particles having a median diameter d50 larger than the above range are present on the surface of the printed substrate in a slightly floating state without being completely submerged in a large number of holes existing on the surface. Therefore, there is a possibility that the fixing property to the printing medium is insufficient. In addition, since many of the other components including the anti-discoloring agent are absorbed in the above-described pores, a wide range of the surface of the silver particles, particularly the upper surface side of printing, is exposed without being covered with the anti-discoloring agent. As a result, the color may be easily changed.
これに対し、メジアン径d50が上記の範囲を満足する微細な銀粒子は、印刷された被印刷体の表面において、当該表面に存在する多数の孔内に、上記の場合よりも沈み気味の状態で存在させることができるため、被印刷体に対する定着性を向上することができる。また、この状態においては銀粒子の表面を、上記の場合に比べてより広い範囲にわたって、変色防止剤によって覆うことができるため、その変色をより効果的に防止することもできる。 On the other hand, fine silver particles having a median diameter d 50 satisfying the above range are more likely to sink than in the above case in the large number of holes existing on the surface of the printed substrate. Since it can exist in a state, the fixing property to the printing medium can be improved. In this state, since the surface of the silver particles can be covered with the discoloration inhibitor over a wider range than in the above case, the discoloration can be more effectively prevented.
On the other hand, the case where the ink composition is printed on the surface of a non-porous substrate such as a plastic film is as follows. In other words, silver particles having a median diameter d 50 larger than the above range are present on the surface of the printed material in a state of largely protruding from the surface. In addition, a binder resin is usually added to the ink composition suitable for printing on a non-porous substrate, and silver particles are bound and fixed on the surface of the substrate by the binder resin. While the film is formed, the silver particles larger median size d 50 as described above, and protrudes significantly from such coatings. For this reason, in any of these cases, the fixability of the silver particles to the printing medium may be insufficient.
Further, many of the other components including the discoloration preventing agent exist only near the surface of the printing medium. The same applies to the coating. For this reason, the wide range of the surface of the silver particles, particularly the upper surface side of the printing, is exposed without being covered with the anti-discoloring agent, and there is a possibility that the discoloration is likely to occur.
On the other hand, fine silver particles having a median diameter d 50 satisfying the above range can reduce the amount of protrusion from the surface of the printed material to be smaller than that in the above case. When a film is formed on the surface of the printed body, most of the silver particles can be covered with the film. For this reason, the fixability with respect to a to-be-printed body can be improved. In this state, since the surface of the silver particles can be covered with the discoloration inhibitor over a wider range than in the above case, the discoloration can be more effectively prevented.
As described above, the ink composition of the present invention comprises silver colloid and a discoloration preventing agent for preventing discoloration of silver. As the ink composition, for example, in an ink jet printer for a personal computer, an aqueous ink composition using an aqueous dispersion medium such as water, which is suitable for printing on a porous material such as paper, is used. And an organic solvent-based ink composition using an organic solvent as a dispersion medium suitable for printing on non-porous printed materials such as plastic, glass, metal, etc. This invention can be applied to any of these systems.
<Silver colloid>
As the silver colloid, a colloidal dispersion of fine silver particles in a dispersion medium can be used. The particle diameter of the silver particles is preferably 0.04 μm or less as expressed by the median diameter d 50 by the laser diffraction scattering method as described above. The reason for this is as described above. In addition, in consideration of further improving the discoloration preventing function by the discoloration preventing agent and further improving the fixability of the silver particles to the printing medium, the median diameter d 50 of the silver particles is particularly within the above range. More preferably, it is 0.03 μm or less. The lower limit of the median size d 50 of the silver particles is not particularly limited, the art can be used to those manufacturable minimum range.
A water-based silver colloid suitable for a water-based ink composition is produced by reducing an aqueous solution containing silver ions, for example, a silver nitrate aqueous solution, and precipitating silver particles in the aqueous solution as described above. For example, when a silver nitrate aqueous solution is added to a mixed solution of an iron (II) sulfate aqueous solution and a citric acid aqueous solution, a deep blue precipitate is obtained. Therefore, after separating this precipitate, washing with distilled water, and pouring distilled water, an aqueous silver colloid with good dispersion stability of silver particles can be produced.
また水系の銀コロイドは、例えば特開平7−173511号公報に記載の、銀イオンを含む水溶液を噴霧して、水素炎と接触させて還元、析出させる方法によって製造することもできる。
これらの製造方法によって銀コロイドを製造するに際して、還元反応の前後の、任意の時点で水溶液に界面活性剤や親水性保護コロイドを加えると、銀粒子の分散安定性をさらに向上できる。
An aqueous silver colloid can also be produced by, for example, a method described in JP-A-7-173511, in which an aqueous solution containing silver ions is sprayed and brought into contact with a hydrogen flame to reduce and precipitate.
When silver colloid is produced by these production methods, the dispersion stability of silver particles can be further improved by adding a surfactant or a hydrophilic protective colloid to the aqueous solution at an arbitrary time before and after the reduction reaction.
The hydrophilic protective colloid such as gelatin, albumin, and Arabiago beam, among the high molecular weight pigment dispersant described in JP-A-11-80647, such as those corresponding to the aqueous dispersion medium such as water is preferred. Specific examples of such hydrophilic protective colloids include, for example, trade name Solsperse 20000, 27000, manufactured by Zeneca Corporation, trade name Disperbic 180, 184, 190, manufactured by Big Chemie, trade name polymer 451, manufactured by EFKA Chemical Co., Ltd. And FLOREN DOPA-17 manufactured by Co., Ltd.
また有機溶媒系のインク組成物に適した有機溶媒系の銀コロイドは、例えば上記の製造方法によって製造した水系の銀コロイドから銀粒子を分離して、インク組成物に用いる有機溶媒と同じ、または相溶性を有する有機溶媒中に分散させるなどの方法によって製造できる。その際にも、上述した親水性保護コロイドを添加することによって、銀粒子の、有機溶媒に対する分散安定性を維持しておくようにするのが好ましい。 Further, the organic solvent-based silver colloid suitable for the organic solvent-based ink composition is the same as the organic solvent used in the ink composition by separating silver particles from the aqueous silver colloid manufactured by the above-described manufacturing method, for example. It can be produced by a method such as dispersion in a compatible organic solvent. Also in that case, it is preferable to maintain the dispersion stability of the silver particles in the organic solvent by adding the above-mentioned hydrophilic protective colloid.
より詳しくは、水系の銀コロイドから水分を除去して銀粒子を分離する前の、当該銀コロイドを製造する工程の任意の時点で親水性保護コロイドを添加したのち、水分を除去することにより、銀粒子の表面を親水性保護コロイドで覆われた状態とする。そしてこの銀粒子を、インク組成物に用いるのと同じ、または相溶性を有する有機溶媒中に分散させることによって有機溶媒系の銀コロイドを製造することができる。 More specifically, after removing the water from the aqueous silver colloid and separating the silver particles, after adding the hydrophilic protective colloid at any point in the process of producing the silver colloid, by removing the water, The surface of the silver particles is covered with a hydrophilic protective colloid. An organic solvent-based silver colloid can be produced by dispersing the silver particles in an organic solvent having the same or compatibility as that used in the ink composition.
An organic solvent-based silver colloid can also be produced, for example, by the method described in JP-A-11-319538. That is, an aqueous phase composed of an aqueous solution containing silver ions and an organic solvent phase in which an organic solvent-soluble high-molecular weight pigment dispersant is added to an organic solvent immiscible with water as necessary are mixed and stirred. By adding a reducing agent, silver particles are transferred from the aqueous phase to the organic solvent phase simultaneously with precipitation, and then the aqueous phase is removed to produce an organic solvent-based silver colloid.
Furthermore, the organic solvent-based silver colloid is an organic solvent solution containing silver ions and, if necessary, an organic solvent-soluble high molecular weight pigment dispersant as described in JP-A-11-80647, for example. reduced to a possible production by Ru to precipitate silver particles in the solution.
Examples of the organic solvent-soluble high molecular weight pigment dispersant used in these methods include those soluble in the organic solvent to be used among the high molecular weight pigment dispersants corresponding to the aqueous dispersion media exemplified above. In addition, for example, trade names Solsperse 24000, 26000, and 28000 manufactured by Zeneca, trade names Disperbic 161, 162, 163, 170, and 182 manufactured by Big Chemie, and trade name polymer 401 manufactured by EFKA Chemical Co., Ltd., manufactured by Kyoeisha Chemical Co., Ltd. No. Floren DOPA-22, trade names of Ajinomoto Co., Inc., Ajisper PB711, PA111 and the like.
The amount of silver colloid added to the ink composition is preferably adjusted so as to be 1 to 20% by weight in terms of the content of silver particles contained in the silver colloid with respect to the total amount of the ink composition. It is more preferable to adjust the content to ˜15% by weight. When the content ratio of the silver particles is less than the above range, there is a possibility that a printed surface having a good metallic luster cannot be formed. On the other hand, when the silver particle content exceeds the above range, the solid content concentration in the ink composition becomes too high, so that the ink ejection stability is particularly high when used in ink jet printing. There is a possibility that good printing cannot be performed due to the decrease.
In the ink composition, one or two or more kinds of metal colloids containing fine particles of other metals can be used in combination as long as good metallic luster due to silver particles is not impaired. As such other metal colloids, for example, fine metal particles made of various metals such as gold, ruthenium, rhodium, palladium, osmium, iridium, platinum, copper, aluminum, zinc, tin, nickel, cobalt, and iron are colloidal. Water-based or organic solvent-based ones dispersed in the above can be used. When a silver colloid is used in combination with one or more other metal colloids, the ink composition of each colloid is adjusted so that the total amount of metal particles contained in each colloid falls within the above range. What is necessary is just to adjust the addition amount with respect to.
<Discoloration inhibitor>
As the discoloration preventing agent, various conventionally known discoloration preventing agents capable of suppressing the silver sulfidation reaction described above can be used. Examples of the discoloration preventing agent include 2-mercaptobenzothiazole and salts thereof (sodium salt, zinc salt, cyclohexylamine salt, etc.), 2-heptadecylimidazole, thionalide (2-mercapto-N-2-naphthalenylacetamide). Examples thereof include alkyl mercaptans having about 12 to 20 carbon atoms in the alkyl group, such as octadecyl mercaptan [CH 3 (CH 2 ) 17 SH].
However, since most of the discoloration inhibitors are water-insoluble or hardly soluble, when the ink composition is water-based, it is preferable to use 2-mercaptobenzothiazole or a salt thereof having water solubility as described above. It is more preferable to use a salt of 2-mercaptobenzothiazole, particularly a sodium salt because of its excellent water solubility. On the other hand, when the ink composition is an organic solvent, any discoloration preventing agent can be used, but 2-mercaptobenzothiazole or octadecyl mercaptan is preferable in consideration of discoloration preventing performance.
The amount of the discoloration inhibitor added is preferably 0.02 to 2% by weight, more preferably 0.2 to 1.5% by weight, based on the total amount of the ink composition. When the addition amount is less than this range, the effect of preventing discoloration of silver particles and the effect of improving the fixability of silver particles by the discoloration preventing agent may not be sufficiently obtained. Conversely, if the addition amount exceeds this range, the viscosity of the ink increases and the ejection stability decreases, or the anti-discoloring agent tends to precipitate, resulting in a decrease in the storage stability of the ink composition. There is a risk of
〈分散媒〉
上記の両成分とともに水系のインク組成物を構成するための水性分散媒としては主として水が使用される他、水を主体とし、そこに必要に応じて、例えばインクの乾燥性、多孔質の被印刷体に対する浸透性、非多孔質の被印刷体に対する濡れ性等を調整するべく少量の、水溶性の有機溶媒を添加したものなどを用いることもできる。
<Dispersion medium>
As an aqueous dispersion medium for constituting a water-based ink composition together with the above-mentioned two components, water is mainly used, and water is mainly used, and if necessary, for example, ink drying property, porous covering A small amount of a water-soluble organic solvent added may be used to adjust the permeability to the printed body and the wettability to the non-porous substrate.
In addition, as the organic solvent for constituting the organic solvent-based ink composition, one arbitrary organic solvent having a function of improving the wettability with respect to the non-porous printed material such as plastic, glass, and metal described above is used. Or it is preferable to use 2 or more types.
Examples of the organic solvent include monovalent alcohols such as methanol, ethanol, 1-propanol, isopropanol, s-butanol, and t-butanol; ethylene glycol monobutyl ether, ethylene glycol monobutyl ether acetate, diethylene glycol monoethyl ether, and the like. Ethylene glycol ethers and derivatives thereof; propylene glycol ethers and derivatives thereof such as propylene glycol monomethyl ether and propylene glycol monomethyl ether acetate; dihydric and trivalent alcohols such as propylene glycol, diethylene glycol and glycerol; benzene, toluene, Aromatic hydrocarbons such as xylene; n-paraffinic hydrocarbons; iso-paraffinic hydrocarbons; dimethyl sulfoxide N- methyl-2-pyrrolidone, may be mentioned methyl ethyl ketone, cyclohexanone, isophorone and the like.
As the organic solvent that may be added to water in the water-based ink composition, an organic solvent having excellent water solubility may be used. In addition to the above-mentioned components, the ink composition of the present invention may contain various conventionally known components such as a binder resin and a dispersant.
<Binder resin>
The binder resin is for fixing silver particles and the like on the surface of the printing medium. In the water-based ink composition, for example, cellulose resin, polyamide resin, polyvinylpyrrolidone, water-soluble acrylic resin, water-soluble oxazoline group-containing It is preferable to use a water-soluble binder resin such as a polymer.
また水を使用せず、有機溶媒を分散媒として使用する有機溶媒系のインク組成物においては、結着樹脂は水溶性のものには限定されず、分散媒として用いる有機溶媒に可溶である種々の樹脂を使用することができる。特に印刷面の金属光沢を向上することを考慮すると、塩化ビニル−酢酸ビニル共重合体や、そのビニルアルコール変性体、ヒドロキシアルキルアクリレート変性体などの1種または2種以上を、結着樹脂として用いるのが好ましい。 In addition, in an organic solvent-based ink composition that uses an organic solvent as a dispersion medium without using water, the binder resin is not limited to a water-soluble one, and is soluble in the organic solvent used as the dispersion medium. Various resins can be used. In consideration of improving the metallic luster of the printed surface in particular, one or more of vinyl chloride-vinyl acetate copolymer, its vinyl alcohol modified product, hydroxyalkyl acrylate modified product, etc. are used as the binder resin. Is preferred.
In view of improving the fixability of silver particles, the binder resin preferably has a weight average molecular weight Mw of 5,000 or more. However, if the molecular weight is too large, the binder resin tends to cause precipitation or precipitation, and the ejection of the ink composition may become unstable. In addition, when the ink composition is stored, there is a possibility that precipitation or precipitation is likely to occur. Therefore, the weight average molecular weight Mw of the binder resin is preferably 50,000 or less even within the above range, and more preferably about 10,000 to 40,000 in consideration of these characteristics .
The content ratio of the binder resin is preferably from 0.3 to 5.0% by weight, more preferably from 0.5 to 3.0% by weight, based on the total amount of the ink composition. If the content ratio is less than this range, the effect of improving the fixability of silver particles may be insufficient. In addition, if it exceeds this range, there is a possibility that good metallic luster cannot be imparted to the printed surface, and since the solid content concentration in the ink composition becomes too high, the ink is particularly used when used for ink jet printing. There is a possibility that good ejection cannot be performed due to a decrease in the ejection stability of the ink.
<Other additives>
Examples of other additives include surface tension adjusting agents, wetting agents, fungicides, and biocides.
As the surface tension adjusting agent, a nonionic surfactant is mainly used. The surface tension adjusting agent should be added as little as possible in order to prevent foaming of the ink composition and printing bleeding. Specifically, the content of the surface tension adjusting agent is 0.1% by weight with respect to the total amount of the ink composition. % Or less, particularly 0.05% by weight or less, preferably not added if possible. In order to adjust the wettability of the aqueous ink composition to the non-porous substrate, a surface tension adjusting agent such as a fluorine-based surfactant or a silicone-based surfactant may be added.
The wetting agent is added to suppress ink drying and prevent ink clogging from occurring in the printer head. For example, a divalent or trivalent alcohol, 2-pyrrolidone or a derivative thereof. Etc. are preferable.
Examples of the divalent alcohol include 1,5-pentanediol, propylene glycol, and diethylene glycol. Examples of the trivalent alcohol include glycerin and trimethylolpropane. Furthermore, examples of 2-pyrrolidone and derivatives thereof include 2-pyrrolidone and N-methyl-2-pyrrolidone. 1 type (s) or 2 or more types can be used for a wetting agent. The content of the wetting agent is preferably 2 to 30% by weight with respect to the total amount of the ink composition. When two or more kinds of wetting agents are used in combination, the total amount is within the above range.
また、銀コロイド起源の銀粒子とともに、着色剤として、種々の染料や顔料などを併用することもできる。この場合は、例えば金を使わずに金の光沢を再現したり、実際にはない種々の色の金属光沢を表現したりすることができる。また、染料等の着色剤を主体とし、銀コロイド起源の銀粒子はそれよりも少量としてもよい。この場合は、金属箔などの表面を再現した金属光沢は得られないが、いわゆるメタリック塗装の状態を再現することが可能となる。 In addition to silver particles derived from silver colloid, various dyes and pigments can be used in combination as a colorant. In this case, for example, it is possible to reproduce the gloss of gold without using gold, or to express metal gloss of various colors that are not actually present. Further, a colorant such as a dye may be the main component, and silver particles originating from silver colloid may be used in a smaller amount. In this case, a metallic luster that reproduces the surface of a metal foil or the like cannot be obtained, but a so-called metallic coating state can be reproduced.
〈インク組成物の製造方法〉
この発明のインク組成物は、上記の各成分を所定の含有割合となるように配合することで製造される。その配合の手順などは特に限定されないが、特に2−メルカプトベンゾチアゾールやそのナトリウム塩などは塩基性物質であり、インク組成物自体を塩基性に保たないと一旦溶解したものが析出しやすくなって、その安定性が低下するおそれがある。
<Method for producing ink composition>
The ink composition of the present invention is produced by blending the above components so as to have a predetermined content ratio. The blending procedure is not particularly limited, but 2-mercaptobenzothiazole or its sodium salt is a basic substance. If the ink composition itself is not kept basic, once dissolved, it tends to precipitate. Therefore, the stability may be reduced.
This phenomenon occurs in both water-based and organic solvent-based ink compositions, but is more prominent in aqueous systems. Therefore, when a basic discoloration inhibitor such as 2-mercaptobenzothiazole or its sodium salt is used in the water-based ink composition, the ink composition is made acidic in order to improve the dispersion stability of the ink composition. It is preferable to always keep the ink composition basic by adding a basic substance before adding a component (eg, glycerin or Olphine E1010) that tends to displace.
As the basic substance, ammonia, organic amine, caustic alkali and the like are preferable. Among these, as the organic amine, for example, monoethanolamine, diethanolamine, triethanolamine, ethylmonoethanolamine, ethyldiethanolamine, monoisopropanolamine, diisopropanolamine, triisopropanolamine, mono-1-propanolamine, 2-amino-2 One or two or more of -methyl-1-methylpropanol and derivatives thereof can be mentioned, and 2-amino-2-methyl-1-methylpropanol is particularly preferable among them.
The ink composition of the present invention thus produced can be suitably used particularly for ink jet printing. As printers adopting the ink jet method, a so-called on-demand type ink jet printer such as a thermal ink jet method or a piezo method, or a so-called continuous type ink jet which forms ink droplets while circulating ink is used for printing. An ink jet printer can be mentioned. The ink composition of the present invention can also be used as various inks, for example, for markers and ballpoint pens.

A water-based ink composition was produced in the same manner as in Example 1 except that no discoloration inhibitor was added and the amount of ultrapure water was 53.1 parts by weight.
上記各実施例、比較例で製造したインク組成物を市販のピエゾ方式のインクジェットプリンタに使用して、多孔質の被印刷体としてのインクジェット用フォト光沢紙〔コニカミノルタフォトイメージング(株)製のQP〕上にベタ印刷を行った。
耐変色性評価
上記ベタ印刷した印刷面を常温にて1週間、放置したのち目視にて観察して、下記の基準で変色の有無を評価した。
Using the ink composition produced in each of the above Examples and Comparative Examples in a commercially available piezo ink jet printer, a photo gloss paper for ink jet as a porous substrate (QP manufactured by Konica Minolta Photo Imaging Co., Ltd.) ] Solid printing was performed on the top.
Evaluation of discoloration resistance The solid printed surface was allowed to stand at room temperature for 1 week and then visually observed to evaluate the presence or absence of discoloration according to the following criteria.
(Double-circle): It had the beautiful metallic luster as it was immediately after printing.
○: Slight discoloration was observed, but there was no problem with metallic luster.
(Triangle | delta): Although discoloration was conspicuous from said ((circle)), it was in the tolerance | permissible_range.
X: The color was remarkably changed and the metallic luster was lost.
Fixability evaluation The printed surface immediately after printing was visually observed using an eraser (trade name MONO manufactured by Dragonfly Pencil Co., Ltd.) while being continuously rubbed three times while applying a load of 200 gf (1.96 N). And the fixability of silver particles was evaluated according to the following criteria.
◎:3回擦過しても印刷面に変化は見られなかった。
○:3回擦過すると印刷面に若干の変化が見られたが、ほぼ問題ないレベルであった。
△:3回擦過すると印刷面に変化が見られたが、1回擦過しただけではほぼ問題ないレベルであった。
×:1回擦過しただけで印刷面が著しく変化した。
A: No change was observed on the printed surface even after rubbing three times.
○: After rubbing three times, a slight change was observed on the printed surface, but the level was almost satisfactory.
Δ: Change was observed on the printed surface after rubbing three times, but it was at a level that would not cause any problem if it was rubbed once.
X: The printed surface changed significantly only by rubbing once.
結果を表1に示す。 The results are shown in Table 1.
From the table, the printing surface formed using the ink composition of Comparative Example 1 in which no discoloration preventing agent was blended was poor in fixing of silver particles on the porous printing material, and peeled only by rubbing once. As a result, the printed surface was remarkably changed, and the color fastness was insufficient, and the color was lost when left for one week, and the metallic luster was lost. On the other hand, the printing surfaces formed using the ink compositions of Examples 1 to 5 blended with the anti-discoloring agent have better fixability of silver particles than the above Comparative Example 1 and are less likely to discolor. I understood.
また、実施例1、2の結果より、2−メルカプトベンゾチアゾールよりもそのナトリウム塩の方が水溶性に優れ、インク組成物中により多く配合できるため、印刷面の変色を防止する効果を向上できることがわかった。さらに実施例1、3、4、5の結果より、銀コロイド中の銀粒子のメジアン径d50を小さくするほど、変色を防止する効果や被印刷体に対する定着性を向上できることがわかった。 In addition, from the results of Examples 1 and 2, the sodium salt is superior in water solubility to 2-mercaptobenzothiazole and can be blended more in the ink composition, so that the effect of preventing discoloration of the printing surface can be improved. I understood. Further from the results of Examples 1, 3, 4, 5, the smaller the median size d 50 of the silver particles in the silver colloid was found to be improved fixability relative effect and the printing material to prevent discoloration.
Example 6
As the silver colloid, an ethylene glycol monobutyl ether acetate-based silver colloid E (median diameter d 50 measured by using a laser diffraction scattering type particle size measuring apparatus [Microtrac UPA manufactured by Nikkiso Co., Ltd.] is 0.0172 μm. Silver particle concentration 30 wt%) was used. Moreover, 2-mercaptobenzothiazole was used as a discoloration preventing agent. The silver colloid and the color change inhibitor and the following components were blended, stirred and mixed, and then filtered using a 0.8 μm membrane filter to produce an organic solvent-based ink composition. The content ratio of the silver particles with respect to the total amount of the ink composition was 3.0% by weight.
