本発明はロールネック部の回転シール機構に係り、熱間圧延機などにおける圧延ロール軸受部のように高速回転し、また高温条件下において、その回転軸軸受部のシールを有効適切に達成し、しかもシール材の損耗変質を防止し潤滑油の漏洩を防止して耐用性を高め、交換整備などに無駄な工数、時間を必要とすることなく、前記特質性を充分に達成しようとするものである。

【従来の技術】
熱間圧延機などのような高温条件下で運転されるロール軸受部にはその回転を円滑ならしめるための潤滑油が不可欠であることは固より、また水のような冷却液が常に供給され、しかも高速運転に伴う酸化物、金属粉塵ないし細片などが多く、そうした固形分の衝突附着や間隙部への進入附着が繰返される条件下にあることは明白である。従ってこのような条件下においてその軸受部に対する防塵ないしシール機構については従来から種々の検討、提案が重ねられている。

即ち、斯様な目的で通称モーゴイル軸受は従来から種々に実用化され、鉄鋼便覧などにも紹介されていると共に例えば実公昭48−41479号公報、特開昭53−9959号公報、特開昭53−48157号公報などに仔細が発表され、近時公開されているものとしても、特公平2−11322号公報、特公平3−80565号公報、特公平4−51244号公報、実公昭60−25283号公報、実公平4−42003号公報、実公平5−4881号公報などがある。

【発明が解決しようとする課題】
上記したような従来の技術によるものはそれぞれの技術的効果を達成していることは当然であるとしても、前記したような高温条件下において必然的に冷却水と潤滑油が併用され、粉塵などの発生が著しい条件下でシール材の摩耗、固化焼割れ、そうした摩耗や熱などに原因した永久変形などが不可避で、好ましい耐用性を確保し、しかもその冷却水進入および潤滑油流出を的確に防止することのできるような技術は見当らない。

またこのような回転部体と固定部体との間において回転を可能ならしめるように採られた遊隙に対するシールとしてはそれら両部体間の僅かな振れに対しても有効に追従シールしなければならないこととなるが、高速回転条件下ではゴム質の如きである上記シール材の追従作用がその振動に対し有効に追随できないこととなって振れ量だけ開いた状態を示し、所謂口開き現象を生ずる。即ち基部に対し先端側に段部を形成して肉厚を大幅に減少したものでは先端部が浮上して口開き現象となり、一方先端部まで略等厚状態としたものにおいては高速回転による振れに対し的確に追従し難い不利がある。またシール面においては油分などを適切に貯え、しかもできるだけソフトタッチであることが好ましいことは上記したような耐用性や潤滑性などから当然であるが、上記したような追従性などの要求を確保した条件下においてこれらの各要求を満足し、好ましいシール作用を求めることは至難である。

【課題を解決するための手段】
本発明は上記したような従来技術における課題を解消することについて検討を重ね、前記したような熱間圧延機の如き高温高圧条件下で、しかも高速運転されることの明らかな作業状態においてソフトタッチを満足せしめつつ、好ましい冷却水の進入防止および潤滑油の流出防止とシール材の耐用性向上を的確に達成させることに成功したものであって、以下の如くである。

本発明は、ロール本体と軸部との間のネック部に装着される機構であって、弾性シール部体と、該弾性シール部体に対設されたリップ部に臨ませられる固定枠と、前記弾性シール部体の両側に対設されたインナーリング及びテーパースリーブとより成り、前記固定枠に設けられたリブ部の両側において前記固定枠に接合するように対設された上記リップ部の中間部ないし接合端部分を漸次薄肉化すると共に、その接合先端部に油溜り溝を形成し、前記固定枠のリブ部の両側に形成され、前記それぞれのリップ部が接合される前記固定枠の接合面は、前記固定枠の中間軸線に対し鈍角状の傾斜面とされ、前記弾性シール部体が前記固定枠に取り付けられる前の状態において、前記それぞれのリップ部における基端側中心軸線は、リップ部先端側に向かうに従ってた互いに接近する方向の内側に傾斜し、前記固定枠の中間軸線との成す角度が鋭角状であり、それぞれのリップ部先端側接合面は、前記リブ部の中心軸線に対し平行状とされたことを特徴とするものである。

【発明の実施の形態】

以上説明したような本発明によるときは熱間圧延機などの如き高速回転するロール軸受部を安定且つ有効に軸受け支承せしめると共に有効ななじみ性を確保したソフトタッチ状態を形成し、しかも潤滑油や冷却水に対するシール作用を大幅に向上し、また軸面の潤滑油を適宜に収容すると共にこれを軸面に補給して潤滑切れや過度の発熱を適切に抑制低減せしめ、それらの結果として耐用性の高い安定な軸受機構を提供し得るものであるから工業的に大きい効果をもった発明であることは明かである。
