Description
【0001】

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
The present invention relates to an apparatus for automatically detecting overlapping of substrates in a mounting process of electronic components.
[0002]
[Prior art]
In a mounting line in which electronic components are mounted on a printed wiring board (substrate) and circuit connection is performed by solder or the like, a cream solder printer, a chip mounter, a reflow furnace, and other facilities are connected by a conveyor. Each device and conveyor are provided with a sensor for detecting the thickness of the printed wiring board and a stopper for stopping the printed wiring board.
[0003]
In such a configuration, the printed wiring board is automatically flowed to each device by the conveyor and processed. That is, the cream solder printer applies cream solder to a predetermined position on the printed wiring board that has been transported on the conveyor. The chip mounter mounts a predetermined electronic component at a predetermined position on the printed wiring board that has been transported on the conveyor after solder application. The reflow furnace melts and solidifies the cream solder on the printed wiring board that has been transported on the conveyor after the components are mounted, and connects the circuits.
[0004]
[Problems to be solved by the invention]
The above-described sensor does not always operate normally, and may become unstable due to uncertain factors such as the outer shape of the printed wiring board, the presence or absence of slits, the brightness and color of the surface, and warpage. Furthermore, when a variety of printed wiring boards having different external shapes are flowed by switching the product type, an artificial factor such as an adjustment of the conveyor width may be added and the operation may be further unstable.
[0005]
In particular, as the products themselves are becoming smaller, the thickness of the printed wiring board itself is becoming thinner, and the thickness of the printed wiring board varies from lot to lot. If the operation becomes unstable, the detection accuracy deteriorates, and the printed wiring boards may overlap frequently.
When such overlapping of the printed wiring boards is not detected by the sensor, it is discovered after the circuit connection process by the reflow furnace or in the worst case during the circuit inspection process by the circuit tester or the like.
[0006]
If an overlap of printed wiring boards is found after the circuit connection process is completed, the overlapping surfaces of the printed wiring boards will be soldered with patterns by cream solder printing, making it practically difficult to remove the overlapping printed wiring boards Therefore, the printed wiring board must be discarded. In addition, when an overlap of printed wiring boards is found during the circuit inspection process, since a mounting line is flowing until the discovery, a large amount of printed wiring boards must be discarded.
[0007]
The present invention has been made in view of the above-described circumstances, and an object thereof is to provide a substrate overlap detection device that can reliably detect substrate overlap regardless of the type of the substrate.
[0008]
[Means for Solving the Problems]
In the present invention, the above object is an apparatus for detecting an overlap of the substrate after mounting the electronic component on the substrate and before connecting the electronic component to the substrate, and contacting the surface of the substrate. This is achieved by providing a displacement means capable of adjusting the displacement magnification to be displaced, and a detection means for detecting the overlapping of the substrates by irradiating the displacement means with light and detecting the reflected light.
[0009]
According to the above configuration, since the displacement means is displaced in the thickness direction of the substrate due to contact with the substrate, and the detection means detects the displacement amount using light, the detected displacement amount is the true thickness of the substrate. If it is larger than that, it can be reliably determined that the substrates overlap. Further, since the displacement magnification of the displacing means can be changed, it is possible to accurately determine that the substrates are overlapping regardless of the type of the substrate.
[0010]

As described above, since the overlap of the printed wiring boards 1 can be detected before the circuit connection process such as solder regardless of the difference in thickness, color, etc., it is not necessary to discard the printed wiring boards 1 and increase the yield. Can be improved.
