【発明の属する技術分野】
本発明は、定在波型の超音波モータ、超音波モータ用ステータ、超音波モータ用ロータ及び超音波モータの製造方法に関するものである。

【従来の技術】
定在波型の超音波モータには、超音波振動の縦振動と捩り振動との組み合わせでロータを回転駆動する楕円軌跡を生成するものがある。図15は、そのような超音波モータであるランジュバン型振動子からなる超音波モータを示している。図15に示すように、この超音波モータのステータ100は、縦振動モードで振動する回転体状の一対の圧電素子101が円筒状の一対の金属ブロック102,103にて挟持されたランジュバン振動子を備えている。両金属ブロック102,103による各圧電素子101の挟持は、それぞれの中心を貫通する図示しないボルトにて行われている。一方、ロータ104は前記ボルトと一体で同軸に設けられた支持軸にて、ステータ100の上面に摺接する状態で回動可能に支持されている。

この超音波モータでは、縦振動の捩り振動への変換が、外周部に複数のスリット105が設けられたステータ100の一部により行われている。このスリット105は全て同一形状に形成され、外周部において周方向に等角度間隔で設けられている。各スリット105は、ステータ100の周面からある程度深い位置まで形成されている。

このようなスリット105をステータ100の外周部に形成するには、従来、エンドミルやメタルソーを用いて切削加工していた。

【発明が解決しようとする課題】
ところが、金属にて円筒状に形成されたステータ100の外周面にエンドミル、メタルソーにより複数のスリットを切削加工すると、その加工時間が長くかかり生産性が低い問題があった。

本発明は、上記問題点を解決するためになされたものであって、その目的は、スリットを備え縦振動を捩り振動に変換もしくは捩り振動を縦振動に変換する振動変換部を有する超音波モータ、超音波モータ用ステータ及びロータにおいて、スリットの切削加工なしで容易に振動変換部を形成することができるようにすることにある。

【課題を解決するための手段】
上記問題点を解決するため、請求項1に記載の発明は、圧電素子を備え、該圧電素子により超音波の縦振動もしくは捩り振動が励起される弾性振動励起部と、スリットが形成され、該スリットの作用により前記弾性振動励起部に励起された前記縦振動を捩り振動に変換、もしくは、前記捩り振動を縦振動に変換する振動変換部と、前記弾性振動励起部にて励起された超音波振動と、前記振動変換部にて変換された超音波振動との合成により生成される楕円振動により回転駆動される回転部とを備えた超音波モータにおいて、前記振動変換部は、ほぼ円板状に形成されるとともに、ほぼ径方向に延びるように形成される貫通部が形成された素板を中心軸方向に複数個積層して形成され、前記スリットは、積層された各素板の貫通部にて形成された。

【発明の実施の形態】
(第1の実施の形態)
以下、本発明を具体化した第1の実施の形態を図1〜図3に従って説明する。

図1は超音波モータ1を示す摸式斜視図であり、図2は同じく分解斜視図である。図1に示すように、超音波モータ1は、弾性振動励起部としてのステータ2及び回転部としてのロータ3を備えている。ステータ2は、第1振動励起部としての第1ブロック4、第2振動励起部としての第2ブロック5、第1圧電素子6、第2圧電素子7、第1電極8及び第2電極9を備えている。尚、本実施の形態では、第1圧電素子6及び第2圧電素子7にて圧電素子が構成されている。

第1ブロック4は、ほぼ円筒状の回転体に形成されている。第1ブロック4は、下側ブロック10と、振動変換部としての上側ブロック11を備えている。図2に示すように、下側ブロック10は導電性金属(本実施の形態ではアルミニウム合金)にて円筒状に形成され、中心軸方向に貫通する貫通孔12を備えている。下側ブロック10の外周面においてその上側周縁には、モータ固定用のフランジ部13が設けられている。

詳述すると、連結軸24は、図2に示すように、第2ブロック5、カラー30(第2圧電素子7、第2電極9、第1圧電素子6、第1電極8)及び第1ブロック4に嵌挿される嵌挿軸部25と、その嵌挿軸部25の上端に径を太くして形成される大径部26と、その大径部26の上端から径を細くして軸方向に延びる支持軸部27と、その支持軸部27の先端に形成される先端雄ねじ部28とを備えている。そして、嵌挿軸部25を第2ブロック5の上側から嵌挿して、大径部26の下面を第2ブロック5の収容凹部5aの上面に当接させる。そして、図3に示すように、第1ブロック4(下側ブロック10)の下面に形成された収容凹部29に突出した該嵌挿軸部25の下端を潰してかしめることにより、第2ブロック5、第2圧電素子7、第2電極9、第1圧電素子6、第1電極8及び第1ブロック4を連結している。

第2ブロック5の上側には、ロータ3が設けられている。ロータ3は金属(本実施の形態ではステンレス鋼)にて円柱状に形成されている。ロータ3の中心軸方向の中央部には、その下面に開口する挿通孔32と、該挿通孔32よりも大径の軸受孔33と、該軸受孔33よりも大径に形成されロータ3の上面に開口する収容穴34とがこの順で同一中心軸上に形成されている。軸受孔33には軸受35が支持されている。

次に、以上のように構成された超音波モータ及び超音波モータ用ステータの作用について説明する。
第1電極8及び第2電極9に高周波交流電圧が供給されると、第1圧電素子6及び第2圧電素子7には極性が逆の高周波交流電圧が印加される。すると、第1圧電素子6及び第2圧電素子7とは分極方向が逆であるため、両圧電素子6,7は同じ状態の縦振動モードで振動する。言い換えると、第1圧電素子6が伸びるときには第2圧電素子7も伸び、第1圧電素子6が縮むときには第2圧電素子7も縮む。その結果、ステータ2には圧電素子が1個であるときよりも振幅の大きな縦振動が励起される。

第1ブロック4に励起された縦振動の一部は、各スリット15の作用により捩り振動に変換される。その結果、第2ブロック5のロータ3との摺接面に縦振動と捩り振動とが合成された楕円振動が発生し、この楕円振動によりロータ3が一方に回転駆動される。

以上詳述したように、本実施の形態の超音波モータ及び超音波モータ用ステータによれば、以下の効果を得ることができる。
(a) 振動変換部(上側ブロック11)を円板状に形成された素板14を積層して形成し、各素板14に設けた切り欠き部17にて該振動変換部の外周部にスリット15を形成した。従って、円柱状の金属材に対してエンドミル、メタルソー等でスリットの切削加工を行うことなく容易にスリット15を備えた振動変換部を形成することができる。

(b) 振動変換部を、弾性振動励起部(ステータ2)に設けた。従って、縦振動の一部が振動変換部に直接励起されるため、振動変換部に縦振動が直接励起されない場合に比較して捩り振動が高い効率で生成される。その結果、楕円振動を高い効率で生成することができ、超音波モータ1の高い効率を得ることができる。

但し、図5に示すように、上側ブロック65の最上部に設けられる素板77だけは、他の素板74に設けられている凸状嵌合部74の代わりに、その凸状嵌合部74に対応する位置にも嵌合孔75が形成されている。これは、形成された上側ブロック65の上面に、凸状嵌合部74を突出させないためである。尚、下側ブロック64と上側ブロック65とは、下側ブロック64の最上段の素板67の各凸状嵌合部68が上側ブロック65の最下段の素板71の各嵌合孔75に圧入嵌合することにより接合されている。
