Description
【0001】

[Technical field to which the invention belongs]
The present invention relates to a paper discharge tray of an image forming apparatus.
[0002]
[Prior art]
2. Description of the Related Art Conventionally, there is a printing apparatus as one of image forming apparatuses that transfer contents corresponding to a document image onto a sheet, and the printing apparatuses include a stencil printing apparatus and an offset printing apparatus.
A case where image formation is performed using a stencil printing device among the printing devices will be described as follows.
In this printing apparatus, a stencil master punched in accordance with a document image by punching processing corresponding to plate making processing is mounted on a plate cylinder provided with an ink transmission structure, and is supplied from an ink supply mechanism installed in the plate cylinder. Printing is performed by transferring the image by leaching the ink and transferring the ink to a printing paper pressed against the plate cylinder.
Such a printing apparatus has an advantage that economical image transfer can be performed because printing can be executed only by using one kind of stencil master when a large amount of printing is continuously performed.
[0003]
By the way, the paper on which the image is transferred (in this case, the printing paper printed by the printing apparatus corresponds to the printing paper will be described below) is transferred from the printing apparatus after the transfer of the print image is completed. The paper is discharged and stored in a paper discharge unit such as a paper discharge tray attached to the printing device, but the behavior until it is placed on the paper discharge unit becomes unstable, and the direction of the edges becomes inconsistent. was there.
The reason for this is that the amount of water absorption differs between the printing surface and non-printing surface of the printing paper.
Usually, printing paper is conveyed in a state in which the longitudinal direction is referred to as a vertical eye along the conveying direction. Such a conveyance mode is advantageous for high-speed continuous printing because of high bending rigidity in the conveyance direction and good conveyance properties.
[0004]
However, when moisture is contained in the printing paper, the fibers on the printing surface, which is the side where moisture penetrates, swells and extends. For this reason, the printed printing paper has an arched shape in which the printing surface extends and the center in the width direction is located above both ends to form a convex shape.
The reason for the penetration of moisture is the use of moisture or dampening water in the ink used for printing. In the case of stencil printing, since 50 to 70% of the ink components are moisture, the moisture is transferred to the printing surface of the printing paper, and in the case of offset printing, the dampening supplied to the surface of the plate. When water is transferred to the printing surface of the printing paper, the printing surface of the printing paper tends to swell due to moisture absorption.
Printing paper having such a shape makes it easy to entrain air on the back side of the printing surface while falling toward the stacking position of the paper discharge tray, which not only causes air turbulence but also increases air resistance. It becomes impossible to fall smoothly.
[0005]
For the above reasons, the behavior until it is placed on the paper discharge tray becomes unstable and the direction of the edges often becomes inconsistent.
If the edges of the printing paper become inconsistent, pre-processing is required to realign the edges when performing double-sided printing or overprinting in recent years, and workability in general printing processing is poor. Become.
[0006]
Accordingly, a paper discharge stand for correcting the edges of the printing paper having such an arch shape so that the edges in the direction perpendicular to the paper discharge direction (hereinafter sometimes referred to as the conveyance direction) can be aligned. (For example, Japanese Patent Application No. 7-116080 and Japanese Patent Application Laid-Open No. 9-30714 related to the prior application of the present applicant).
[0007]
In the above publication, a side fence provided at a position facing a width direction side edge that is one of the edges of the printing paper on the paper discharge table, the upper side of the side fence is arranged below the guide surface of the printing paper side edge. A configuration is disclosed in which an inclined surface is provided that protrudes toward the bottom in the width direction of the printing paper and has an angle that causes both side edges of the printing paper to warp upward. According to this configuration, after printing, the printing paper can be corrected to a downward convex shape by causing both ends of the printing paper that has fallen in a state of absorbing the moisture and deformed upward to warp upward. By holding the shape, the shape of the printing paper that falls next can be made to follow the shape of the printing paper that has fallen in advance, and the unevenness in the width direction of the stacked printing paper is eliminated. The edge alignment is improved.
[0008]
[Problems to be solved by the invention]
However, the above configuration has the following problems.
If the edge alignment can be performed on a very small size printing paper such as a postcard among the printing paper, the edge alignment of a printing paper having a size larger than that size cannot be performed accurately.
10 and 11 are diagrams for explaining the above-described problem. As shown in FIG. 10, since the postcard has a width (L1) of about 90 mm, the distance between the opposing surfaces of the side fences P1 and P2 is as follows. It is necessary to correspond to the width of the interval. For this reason, when the side fences P1 and P2 are made to correspond to the postcard size and the corresponding interval is narrowed, the inclined surfaces P3 and P4 must be prevented from interfering with each other. Therefore, the lengths of the inclined surfaces P3 and P4 are also reduced. Naturally shortens. Specifically, the lengths of the inclined surfaces P3 and P4 correspond to about half the length of the postcard (45 mm).
[0009]
In contrast, when the inclined surfaces P3 and P4 having a length corresponding to the postcard are applied to A3 size or B4 size printing paper, the corresponding range of the inclined surfaces P3 and P4 with respect to the width of the printing paper as shown in FIG. Becomes too narrow, and only the widthwise ends of the printing paper are lifted. For this reason, the whole width direction of printing paper cannot be made into a large downward convex shape.
Therefore, in the process in which printing continues and printing paper is sequentially stacked on the paper discharge tray D, even if the central portion in the width direction of the printing paper is substantially flat as indicated by reference numeral S1 at the beginning. Although the printing paper has a downward convex shape in the entire width direction, the larger the number of stacked sheets, the less the effect of the inclined surface as the subsequent printing paper becomes, so the entire width direction should be kept largely downward. Can not be. For this reason, the central portion in the width direction, which was in a substantially flat state, can no longer correct upward convex deformation due to moisture absorption after printing, and is loaded in a deformed W shape as indicated by reference numerals S2 and S3. It will become like.
If such a state is continued, the printing paper falling one after another has less effect of following the shape of the printing paper that has been dropped first, that is, the downward convex shape by the inclined surfaces P3 and P4, As a result, the edges between the stacked printing sheets tend to be uneven. In addition, when the side fence is pushed by the printing paper whose edges are not aligned, the side fence is inclined outward and the edge alignment of the printing paper is increasingly deteriorated.
The printing paper loaded in the state of being deformed into the W shape described above has a problem that the deformation curvature to the downward convex shape is small, and the deformation of the shape remains slightly even after drying.
[0010]
In order to cope with the above-described problems, it is desirable to increase the length of the inclined surfaces P3 and P4 and hold the printing papers after printing in a large downward convex shape. It is difficult to correct the posture of a small-sized printing paper, and it is difficult to align the edges of such a small-sized printing paper.
[0011]
The object of the present invention is to keep the shape of paper such as printing paper used for image formation in a downward convex shape after image formation such as printing, regardless of the size, in view of the problems with the conventional paper discharge tray. An object of the present invention is to provide a sheet discharge table of an image forming apparatus having a configuration capable of surely aligning edges of sheets to be stacked and preventing deformation after drying.

【The invention's effect】
As is clear from the above embodiments, according to the first aspect of the present invention, since the concave portion and the convex portion formed on the inclined surface of the side fence can enter each other, The distance between the opposing surfaces of the side fences can be shortened by a dimension that allows the concave and convex parts to enter each other, thereby causing the both ends of the small size paper, such as a postcard size, to bend upward in the width direction. It can be held in a downward convex shape. In addition, the positional relationship in which the concave portion and the convex portion do not enter each other makes it possible to hold the paper in a downward convex shape within a large range for a large size paper such as B4 and A3. This makes it possible to hold the loaded paper in a downwardly convex shape by curling up both ends in the width direction of the paper regardless of the size, so that the edges of the paper, including printing paper, can be easily aligned. It is possible to prevent the edge alignment from deteriorating and to prevent deformation after drying.
[0036]
According to the second aspect of the present invention, since the leading end side of the inclined surface is foldable as a configuration for causing both ends in the width direction of the sheet to bend upward regardless of the size, the inclined surface can be easily folded. The overhanging state can be changed, so that the paper can be held in a downward convex shape regardless of the paper size, and deterioration of edge alignment in the paper width direction and deformation after drying can be prevented. become.
[0037]
According to the third aspect of the present invention, the leading end side of the inclined surface that holds both ends in the width direction of the sheet by curving upward regardless of the size can advance and retreat along the sheet width direction. The overhanging position can be easily set and released according to the movement of the side fence. As a result, the paper can be held in a downward convex shape regardless of the size of the paper, and the alignment of the edges in the width direction of the paper can be prevented from deteriorating, and deformation after drying can be prevented. Become. In addition, by urging the advancing / retracting movable part with an elastic body, there is no need for a special operation procedure of the inclined plate for causing the edge in the width direction of the paper to warp upward for each size. It becomes possible to improve.
