Description
【0001】

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
The present invention relates to an exhaust emission control device for an internal combustion engine.
[0002]
[Prior art]
In recent years, removal of particulate matter (hereinafter referred to as “PM”) represented by soot, which is a suspended particulate matter contained in diesel engine exhaust, has become an important issue. For this reason, a technique of providing a particulate filter (hereinafter simply referred to as “filter”) for collecting PM in an exhaust system so that PM is not released into the atmosphere is known.
[0003]
This filter can prevent PM in the exhaust gas from being collected once and released into the atmosphere. However, when PM collected by the filter accumulates on the filter, the filter may be clogged. If this clogging occurs, the pressure of the exhaust gas upstream of the filter may increase, leading to a decrease in the output of the internal combustion engine and damage to the filter. In such a case, the PM deposited on the filter can be removed by igniting and burning. The removal of PM deposited on the filter in this way is called filter regeneration.
[0004]
[Problems to be solved by the invention]
By the way, PM may be generated not only in a diesel engine but also in a gasoline engine. In particular, in a direct injection gasoline engine in a cylinder, when stratified lean combustion, that is, when a small amount of fuel is stratified and burned in the combustion chamber, the fuel near the spark plug is excessively concentrated and smoke is likely to be generated. Appropriate removal of PM associated with smoke is desired. Because gasoline engines and diesel engines have different fuels and the engine operating conditions associated therewith, it is necessary to consider PM removal independently for gasoline engines.
[0005]
That is, the regeneration of the filter can be performed by oxidizing PM in an oxygen-excess atmosphere. However, in a gasoline engine operated near the stoichiometric air-fuel ratio, the oxygen concentration in the exhaust gas is low and the ability to oxidize PM is low. Since it is low, it is difficult to regenerate the filter. To deal with such problems, for example, it is conceivable to increase the oxygen concentration during filter regeneration and operate the engine. However, in such an oxygen-excess atmosphere, the purification rate of nitrogen oxides (NOx) decreases. End up.
[0006]
The present invention has been made in view of the above-described problems, and in a stoichiometric gasoline engine that enables operation near the stoichiometric air-fuel ratio, a technique that can remove particulate matter collected by a filter. The purpose is to provide.
[0007]
[Means for Solving the Problems]
In order to achieve the above object, the exhaust gas purification apparatus for an internal combustion engine of the present invention employs the following means. That is, a filter capable of temporarily collecting particulate matter generated by combustion of gasoline in the combustion chamber, a catalyst having an oxidation function for oxidizing and removing particulate matter collected by the filter, and an internal combustion engine Fuel supply means for supplying fuel to the engine, fuel supply stop means for stopping fuel supply when the vehicle decelerates, and when fuel supply is stopped by the fuel supply stop means Oxygen concentration in exhaust gas passing through the filter Increase Exhaust oxygen concentration And increasing means.
[0008]
In the stoichiometric gasoline engine (port injection type stoichiometric engine or in-cylinder injection type stoichiometric engine) that enables operation near the stoichiometric air-fuel ratio, the greatest feature of the present invention is when fuel supply is stopped during vehicle deceleration. In Oxygen concentration in the exhaust gas passing through the filter Is to promote the oxidation of the particulate matter collected by the filter.
[0009]
In the exhaust gas purification apparatus for an internal combustion engine configured as described above, particulate matter in the exhaust gas is collected by the filter. Particulate matter collected by the filter is oxidized and removed if the catalyst having an oxidation function is at or above the activation temperature, but the amount of particulate matter discharged from the internal combustion engine is below the activation temperature. If the catalyst has a large oxidation function and cannot be oxidized sufficiently, the particulate matter gradually accumulates on the filter and causes clogging, and thus needs to be removed. Here, when the internal combustion engine is operated near the stoichiometric air-fuel ratio, it is difficult to oxidize and remove the particulate matter because the oxygen concentration in the exhaust gas is low. By the way, when the vehicle is decelerated, the supply of fuel is stopped, the oxygen concentration in the exhaust gas becomes high, and the particulate matter collected by the filter is oxidized. At that time Exhaust oxygen concentration Increase means Oxygen concentration in the exhaust gas passing through the filter Is increased, more oxygen can be supplied to the filter, and clogging of the filter can be suppressed.
[0010]
In the present invention, the catalyst having the oxidation function can be supported on the filter. In this way, space can be saved.
[0011]
The present invention further includes an intake passage that is connected to the internal combustion engine and introduces intake air into the internal combustion engine, and an intake throttle valve that varies a flow area through which the intake air flows. Exhaust oxygen concentration The increasing means controls the intake throttle valve in the valve opening direction to increase the intake air amount. Increasing the oxygen concentration in the exhaust gas passing through the filter with Can do.
[0012]
In the exhaust gas purification apparatus for an internal combustion engine configured as described above, the intake throttle valve is fully opened during vehicle deceleration to increase the intake air amount. Therefore, it becomes possible to oxidize and remove the particulate matter collected by the filter due to an increase in the oxygen concentration in the exhaust gas.
[0013]
The present invention further comprises an intake valve, an exhaust valve, and an intake / exhaust valve opening amount adjusting means for adjusting an opening amount of the intake valve and the exhaust valve, Exhaust oxygen concentration The increase means increases the intake air amount by increasing the opening amount of the intake valve and the exhaust valve. Increasing the oxygen concentration in the exhaust gas passing through the filter with Can do.
[0014]
In the exhaust gas purification apparatus for an internal combustion engine configured as described above, the opening amount of the intake / exhaust valve is increased during vehicle deceleration to increase the intake air amount. Therefore, it becomes possible to oxidize and remove the particulate matter collected by the filter due to an increase in the oxygen concentration in the exhaust gas.
[0015]
In the present invention, further comprising a collection amount estimation means for estimating the amount of particulate matter collected by the filter, Exhaust oxygen concentration By increasing means Oxygen concentration in exhaust gas passing through the filter May be performed when the trapped amount of the particulate matter estimated by the trapped amount estimating means becomes a predetermined value or more.
[0016]
In the exhaust gas purification apparatus for an internal combustion engine configured as described above, when the vehicle is being decelerated and the trapped amount of the particulate matter estimated by the trapped amount estimating means becomes a predetermined value or more, Oxygen concentration in the exhaust gas passing through the filter Increase. In this way, it is possible to remove the particulate matter only when it is necessary to remove the particulate matter.
[0017]
The present invention further comprises a catalyst temperature detecting means for detecting the temperature of the catalyst, Exhaust oxygen concentration By quantity increase means Oxygen concentration in the exhaust gas passing through the filter This increase may be performed when the temperature of the catalyst is equal to or higher than the activation temperature and is equal to or lower than a temperature at which the catalyst is not thermally deteriorated even if the temperature of the catalyst is increased due to an increase in the intake air amount.
[0018]
In the exhaust gas purification apparatus for an internal combustion engine thus configured, when the vehicle is being decelerated and the catalyst temperature detected by the catalyst temperature detection means is within a predetermined range, Oxygen concentration in the exhaust gas passing through the filter Increase. In this way, the particulate matter can be removed only when the particulate matter can be effectively removed.
[0019]
The present invention further comprises an operation period calculating means for calculating a period until the fuel supply is stopped by the fuel supply stopping means, Exhaust oxygen concentration Increased by increasing means Oxygen concentration in the exhaust gas passing through the filter Can be increased as the operation period calculated by the operation period calculation means is longer.
[0020]
In the exhaust gas purification apparatus for an internal combustion engine configured as described above, when fuel is supplied and the engine is operated, particulate matter is discharged accordingly. Therefore, the longer the engine operation period, the greater the amount of particulate matter collected by the filter. Oxygen concentration in the exhaust gas passing through the filter By increasing the amount of oxygen, it becomes possible to supply oxygen in accordance with the amount of particulate matter collected by the filter.
[0021]
In the present invention, the above Exhaust oxygen concentration By increasing means Oxygen concentration in the exhaust gas passing through the filter Means may be provided for decelerating the vehicle when is increased.
[0022]
In the exhaust gas purification apparatus for an internal combustion engine thus configured, the intake air amount is increased during vehicle deceleration. If , Pump loss is reduced. By compensating for this loss, the vehicle can be decelerated.
[0023]
DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION
Hereinafter, specific embodiments of an exhaust emission control device for an internal combustion engine according to the present invention will be described with reference to the drawings. Here, a case where the exhaust gas purification apparatus for an internal combustion engine according to the present invention is applied to an in-cylinder direct injection gasoline engine for driving a vehicle that is operated near the stoichiometric air-fuel ratio will be described as an example.

Therefore, the amount of nitrogen oxide (NOx) generated is suppressed.

On the other hand, for example, it is conceivable to operate at a lean air-fuel ratio only when it is necessary to remove PM. However, when operating at such an air-fuel ratio, the NOx treatment capacity of the catalyst is lowered and released into the atmosphere. There is a risk that the amount of NOx produced will increase.
[0051]
Therefore, in the present embodiment, the amount of intake air is increased when the fuel supply is stopped while the vehicle is decelerating to increase the PM oxidation capacity. Here, in general, during the deceleration of the vehicle, the supply of fuel is stopped in order to improve fuel consumption. At this time, since combustion is not performed in the engine, even if the intake air amount is increased, the influence on the engine operating state is small. Therefore, it is possible to control the engine in a state suitable for increasing the intake air amount.
[0052]
As described above, the means for increasing the intake air amount includes, for example, controlling the intake throttle valve in the valve opening direction, controlling the EGR valve in the valve closing direction, controlling the swirl control valve 11 in the valve opening direction, It is conceivable to increase the valve opening amount of the

[0059]
Here, in the exhaust gas purification apparatus for a conventional internal combustion engine, it is difficult to oxidize PM collected by the filter when it is operated near the theoretical air-fuel ratio.
[0060]
In this regard, in the present embodiment, since the intake air amount is increased when the fuel supply is stopped during vehicle deceleration, it is possible to oxidize and remove the PM accumulated on the filter with almost no influence on the combustion state in the engine. Become.
[0061]
As described above, in the exhaust gas purification apparatus for an internal combustion engine according to this embodiment, the intake air amount (fresh air amount) can be increased during vehicle deceleration. However, if the intake resistance is reduced during vehicle deceleration, the pump loss is reduced and the vehicle's feeling of deceleration is reduced. Therefore, in the present embodiment, the intake air amount increase control is performed within a range in which an acceptable deceleration feeling can be obtained.
[0062]
FIG. 3 is a diagram showing the relationship between the intake air amount increase amount, the pump loss, and the feeling of deceleration. Here, there is a correlation between the feeling of deceleration and the pump loss. The intake air amount increasing means reflected amount is an increase amount of intake air due to control of the intake throttle valve in the valve opening direction.
[0063]
In the figure, a line a indicates an allowable deceleration feeling threshold, and a line b indicates an allowable increase amount of the intake air amount. The threshold value of the deceleration feeling indicated by the line a can be obtained by experiments or the like. Moreover, if the deceleration threshold (line a) can be obtained, the line b in FIG. 3 is obtained. If the amount of intake air is increased within a range smaller than the line b (in the range on the left side of the line b in FIG. 3), an acceptable deceleration feeling can be obtained.
[0064]
FIG. 4 is a flowchart showing a flow for increasing the intake air amount within a range in which an allowable deceleration feeling is obtained.
[0065]
In step S101, it is determined whether the vehicle is decelerating and a fuel stop condition is satisfied. Here, when it is detected that the accelerator is not stepped on based on an output signal of an accelerator opening sensor (not shown), it can be determined that the vehicle is decelerating. Further, it may be detected that the vehicle is decelerating from an output signal of a speed sensor (not shown) that detects the vehicle speed.
[0066]
If an affirmative determination is made in step S101, the process proceeds to step S102. On the other hand, if a negative determination is made, this routine is once ended.
[0067]
In step S102, the fuel supply is stopped. The
[0068]
In step S103, it is determined whether or not the feeling of deceleration is within an allowable range. That is, as shown in FIG. 3, it is determined whether or not the increase in the intake air amount by the intake air amount increasing means is equal to or less than a threshold value. Here, for example, it is determined by whether or not the opening amount of the intake throttle valve, the opening amount of the EGR valve, the opening amount of the swirl control valve 11, the lift amount of the intake and exhaust valves, etc. are within a predetermined range. . Values that serve as these determination conditions are obtained in advance by experiments or the like and stored in the
[0069]
If an affirmative determination is made in step S103, the process proceeds to step S104. On the other hand, if a negative determination is made, this routine is temporarily terminated.
[0070]
In step S104, the intake air amount is increased. For example, the intake air amount is further increased by opening the intake throttle valve by a predetermined amount, closing the EGR valve by a predetermined amount, opening the swirl control valve 11 by a predetermined amount, or increasing the valve lift amount.
[0071]
In this way, by increasing the intake air amount in stages, the intake air amount can be increased without impairing the feeling of deceleration.
[0072]
In the present embodiment, the deceleration feeling may be determined using the vehicle deceleration rate obtained from the speed sensor.
[0073]
FIG. 5 is a time chart showing the time transition of the deceleration ratio, the intake air amount increasing means reflected value, the fuel stop signal, and the vehicle speed when the vehicle is decelerated. The intake air amount increasing means reflected value is a value indicating an increase amount of intake air due to control of the intake throttle valve in the valve opening direction or the like. The solid line in the figure shows the case where the control for increasing the feeling of deceleration is performed, and the broken line shows the case where the control for increasing the feeling of deceleration is not performed. A line a indicates an allowable threshold of deceleration feeling, and can be obtained in advance by an experiment or the like.
[0074]
Here, as the intake air amount increasing means reflection value increases, it takes time until the deceleration rate decreases and the vehicle speed decreases. Therefore, the feeling of deceleration decreases. When the deceleration rate is smaller than the line a, an acceptable deceleration feeling cannot be obtained. Therefore, in the present embodiment, the intake air amount is increased so that the deceleration ratio is equal to or greater than the threshold indicated by the line a and approaches the threshold. Therefore, for example, when the intake throttle valve is opened by a predetermined amount, the EGR valve is closed by a predetermined amount, the swirl control valve 11 is opened by a predetermined amount, or the valve lift amount is increased, the deceleration rate is higher than the line a. Increase the intake air volume step by step within the range of increase.
[0075]
In this way, it is possible to determine the feeling of deceleration by detecting the deceleration rate, and it is possible to increase the intake air amount to the maximum within the range where the allowable deceleration rate can be obtained.
[0076]
Further, in the present embodiment, the operation amount of the driver's brake pedal (not shown) is detected, and when the ratio of depressing the brake pedal is a predetermined ratio or more, the increase in the intake air amount may be stopped. .
[0077]
Here, FIG. 6 is a time chart showing the time transition of the brake pedal depression ratio, the intake air amount increasing means reflected value, the fuel stop signal, and the vehicle speed during deceleration of the vehicle. A line a indicates a threshold value of an allowable brake pedal depression rate, and can be obtained in advance by an experiment or the like. Here, if the intake air amount is increased during deceleration of the vehicle, the feeling of deceleration decreases, so the driver may step on the brake pedal more strongly. In the present embodiment, when the rate at which the brake pedal is depressed exceeds a predetermined value, the increase in the intake air amount is stopped and the vehicle deceleration is prioritized because the driver's request for deceleration is large. Can do.
[0078]
In this way, a feeling of deceleration can be determined by detecting the brake pedal depression ratio, and the intake air amount can be increased within an allowable range.

In the present embodiment, the amount of increase in the intake air amount may be changed based on the operation time until the fuel supply is stopped. In step S204, energy recovery is performed. The motor 31 functions as a generator while rotating in proportion to the axle 35 via the

In this way, by collecting the energy during deceleration, it is possible to increase the intake air amount without impairing the feeling of deceleration.
[0094]
In the present embodiment, in order to increase the feeling of deceleration of the vehicle when the intake air amount increases, for example, a brake assist mechanism that can obtain a braking force larger than usual with respect to the operation amount of the brake pedal may be provided. .

【The invention's effect】
In the exhaust gas purification apparatus for an internal combustion engine according to the present invention, in a gasoline engine operable near the stoichiometric air-fuel ratio, the amount of intake air can be increased during vehicle deceleration, and particulate matter collected by the filter can be removed. . At this time, since combustion is not performed in the internal combustion engine, particulate matter can be removed while preventing NOx emission.
