DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION
As shown in FIG.
A structure in which a
An active matrix circuit (consisting of a thin film transistor indicated by 102) and a peripheral drive circuit (configured by a thin film transistor indicated by 103) are disposed on the surface of one of the

[0035]
A feature of this embodiment is that
[0036]
By doing in this way, stress can be relieved by the resin interlayer film made of polyimide, and the penetration of moisture from the outside of the panel can be prevented by the epoxy resin constituting the sealing material.
[0037]
Resin films made of polyimide denoted by 111, 109, and 106 are flexible and have a function of relieving stress applied from the outside. However, it is hygroscopic and hardly functions as a barrier that prevents moisture from entering.

On the other hand, the
[0039]
When the configuration shown in the present embodiment is employed, the effects of both can be obtained in synergy.
[0040]
In particular, by preventing the epoxy resin and polyimide from overlapping each other, the sealing property can be enhanced at that portion. That is, since the adhesion between the epoxy resin and the polyimide is poor, it is possible to enhance the sealing effect by the epoxy resin in a part such that the part does not overlap like the part indicated by 100. .
[0041]
By doing so, it is possible to obtain a function of sealing the liquid crystal inside the cell at a portion indicated by 100 and a structure in which impurities do not enter the liquid crystal layer from the outside.
