さらに、VOC(Volatile Organic Compounds:揮発性有機化合物)フリーフラックス等の塩素含有量の多いフラックスでは、その酸によりはんだ槽が浸食され腐食する。
【0003】

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
The present invention relates to a technique for realizing a solder bath having high erosion resistance against high-temperature molten solder, tin-rich molten solder, and corrosive flux.
[0002]
Even if a conventional solder bath made of stainless steel, which is considered to have high corrosion resistance, is used, the erosion due to erosion occurs when the temperature of the molten solder exceeds 300 ° C. Further, in the case of tin-rich solder, such as lead-free solder, similar erosion is likely to occur even at 300 ° C. or lower. Furthermore, in a flux having a high chlorine content such as a VOC (Volatile Organic Compounds) free flux, the solder bath is eroded and corroded by the acid.
[0003]
Corrosion and erosion caused by these significantly shorten the solder bath life. Therefore, an erosion resistant solder bath is required.
[0004]
[Prior art]
When performing flow-type soldering of printed wiring boards carrying electronic components, usually flux is applied to the soldered surface in advance (flux application process), and then this printed wiring board is soldered. Preheating is performed so that the temperature of the attaching portion is about 100 ° C. (preheating step), and then the molten solder is brought into contact with the surface to be soldered of the printed wiring board, thereby the surface to be soldered. Soldering is performed by supplying molten solder to the part to be soldered (soldering process). This is a standard soldering procedure for the so-called flow soldering method.
[0005]
In the soldering process, a molten solder jet wave normally accommodated in a solder bath is formed, and the soldered portion of the printed wiring board is brought into contact with the jet wave to perform soldering.
[0006]
A conventional solder bath will be described with reference to FIG.
[0007]

[Problems to be solved by the invention]
For soldering an electronic device used in a high-temperature environment, for example, soldering a printed wiring board, for example, high-temperature solder having a soldering temperature of 300 ° C. or higher is used.
[0012]
In addition, lead-free solder has been used because of the load that lead toxicity has on the environment and the human body, but tin-rich lead-free solder whose main component is tin is mainly used. Yes.
[0013]
Furthermore, VOC free flux not containing VOC has come to be used because VOC in the flux causes photochemical smog generation or has carcinogenicity. A typical example is a water-soluble flux having a high chlorine content.
[0014]
On the other hand, even if a stainless steel container, which has been considered to have strong corrosion resistance, is used, if the temperature of the molten solder exceeds 300 ° C., the solder bath is eroded by the molten solder and erosion occurs. Further, in the case of tin-rich solder such as lead-free solder, similar erosion is likely to occur even at 300 ° C. or lower. In particular, erosion proceeds remarkably in a tin-rich solder having a tin content of 85% by weight or more. This is because the nickel of the stainless steel is likely to elute into the molten solder tin. Furthermore, in a flux having a high chlorine content such as a VOC free flux, the solder bath is eroded by the acid.
[0015]
The same applies to the sheathed heater that heats the solder in the solder bath and holds it in a molten state. In other words, it is because stainless steel is usually used for the sheath of the sheathed heater.
[0016]
And erosion caused by these significantly shortens the life of the solder bath. Therefore, an erosion resistant solder bath is required.
[0017]
The object of the present invention is to perform soldering work stably and safely over a long period of time even when using high-temperature solder, tin-rich lead-free solder, and highly corrosive or erosive parts such as flux with high chlorine content. It is to realize a solder bath capable of performing the above.
[0024]
[Means for solving problems]
(1) A solder bath provided with a container for containing molten solder, wherein the container is made of a stainless material. On the other hand, the container is provided with a through-hole for providing a sheathed heater, and a clad material composed of a titanium layer and a stainless steel layer is used to have the titanium layer on one end side and the stainless steel layer on the other end side. The flanged tube is fitted into the through hole, and the vessel and the stainless steel layer of the flanged tube are welded and fixed to the inner surface of the vessel, and a sheath heater composed of a titanium sheath is attached to the flanged tube. The titanium layer of the flange pipe and the titanium sheath of the sheathed heater are welded and fixed.
[0025]
With this configuration, a sheathed heater made of a titanium sheath can be provided in a container made of stainless steel. Therefore, since the sheathed heater composed of a titanium sheath is used, it is possible to prevent the sheathed heater from being eroded at a higher temperature than the molten solder.
[0026]
As a result, although the temperature of the molten solder is not 300 ° C or higher, it is higher than the soldering temperature of tin-lead eutectic solder (about 245 ° C), and chlorine is also present in the flux applied to the work to be soldered. When it is not contained, erosion of the sheathed heater having a temperature higher than that of the molten solder can be suppressed. That is, it is possible to realize a solder bath corresponding to such individual solution problems at a low cost .
[0027]
(2) Further, in the configuration of (1), a ceramic layer is formed on the inner surface of a container made of stainless steel .
[0028]
As a result, it is possible to provide a sheathed heater with a titanium sheath in the container in which the ceramic layer is formed.
[0029]
As a result , the solder bath functions stably over a long period of time for highly erodible molten solder, that is, tin-rich solder with a tin content of 85% by weight or more, especially lead-free solder that does not contain lead. Will be able to. Further, a sheathed heater with a titanium sheath can be used, and the corrosion resistance against high-temperature solder can be improved.
[0030]

【The invention's effect】
As described above, according to the solder bath according to the present invention, when soldering is performed on the solder bath under highly erodible conditions, that is, the tin-lead eutectic solder that has been conventionally used conventionally is used. When using high-temperature molten solder that exceeds the operating temperature (usually about 245 ° C), or when using solder that has a high tin content exceeding 85% by weight, especially tin content When using lead-free solder with a high rate exceeding 85% by weight, a flux with a high chlorine content (for example, VOC-free flux such as water-soluble flux) is to be soldered on a printed wiring board or the like. In the case where soldering is performed by applying to the solder, it is possible to realize a solder bath having high erosion resistance and stably and safely performing its function over a long period of time.
[0060]
As a result, using lead-free solder and VOC-free flux with low environmental impact, it has become an indispensable infrastructure for daily life, especially to be able to stably perform soldering work for electronic devices such as printed wiring boards. Become. In addition, it is possible to perform the soldering operation with peace of mind by using a member having low environmental load and low toxicity to the human body.
