【発明の属する技術分野】
本発明は、LED及びスイッチが実装されたLED基板と、該スイッチの押下に応じてLEDの点灯制御をための制御基板とが、配線により接続されたLED制御装置、及びこのLED制御装置を備えた画像形成装置の技術分野に属するものである。

【従来の技術】
従来のプリンタ等の画像形成装置においては、LED及びスイッチ等を備えたパネル基板と、ASIC及びメモリ等を備えた印字制御部の基板とがハーネスにより接続された構成となっている。

このような構成において、パネル基板上のスイッチが押下されると、この押下を示す信号がハーネスを介して印字制御部の基板上のASICに入力される。そして、ASICはこの入力に対応してLEDを点灯すべく信号を出力し、この信号はハーネスを介してパネル基板上のLEDに供給され、所定のLEDが点灯することになる。

【発明が解決しようとする課題】
しかしながら、従来は、印字制御部の基板上のASICにおけるスイッチ用の入力端子は、論理がローアクティブに設定されていたため、当該ASICにおけるスイッチ用の入力端子とスイッチ押下検出用の端子との接続線、及びスイッチの他方の端子とアースとの接続線の2本の接続線が必要になっていた。

その結果、前記ハーネスは、LEDのアノードに供給する電源供給線と、LEDのカソードに接続される信号線と、スイッチの一方に端子に接続される押下検出用の線と、スイッチの他方の端子に接続されるアース線とから構成する必要があり、ハーネスの配線がスイッチに必要な分だけ増えてしまうという問題があった。

本発明は、以上のような問題を解決し、LED基板と制御基板とがハーネスで接続される場合に、ハーネスの配線を簡単な構成で減少させることのできるLED制御装置及び画像形成装置を提供することを課題としている。

【課題を解決するための手段】
請求項1記載のLED制御装置は、前記課題を解決するために、LED及びスイッチ手段が備えられたLED基板と、前記LED基板とは別に設けられ、前記LEDの点灯制御を行う制御手段が備えられた制御基板と、前記LED基板と前記制御基板とを接続する配線手段と、を備えたLED制御装置であって、前記LEDは、アノード側が電源端子に接続されると共に、カソード側が前記配線手段を介して前記制御手段の出力端子に接続されており、前記スイッチ手段は、一端が前記LEDと共通の電源端子に接続されると共に、他端が前記配線手段を介して前記制御手段の入力端子に接続されており、前記入力端子は、前記制御基板側で抵抗を介して接地されていることを特徴とする。

請求項1記載のLED制御装置によれば、前記スイッチ手段の一端が、前記LEDと共通の電源端子に接続されており、前記スイッチ手段の他端が、前記配線手段を介して前記制御手段の入力端子に接続されているので、前記配線手段は、前記スイッチ手段の前記一端側と前記制御手段の入力端子とを接続する線のみを備えていれば良く、前記スイッチ手段の前記他端側と前記制御手段の入力端子とを接続する線を備える必要がないので、接続線の本数の減少が図られる。このような配線手段を用いて前記LED基板と前記制御基板とを接続した場合には、スイッチ手段が開状態の時には、前記制御手段の入力端子が前記制御基板側で抵抗を介して接地されているので、低電圧(Low)が入力される。また、スイッチ手段が閉状態の時には、前記電源端子から供給される電源が前記抵抗に印加され、前記抵抗において電圧降下が生じる。従って、前記制御手段の入力端子には高電圧(High)が入力される。このように、前記制御手段の入力端子の論理を従来とは逆に設定することにより、前記配線手段における接続線の本数の減少が図られる。

以下、本発明の好適な実施の形態を添付図面に基づいて説明する。以下の説明は、画像形成装置の一例としてプリンタに本発明を適用した場合の実施形態である。まず、本実施形態におけるプリンタの概要について説明する。

図1は、本発明を適用した画像形成装置としてのレーザビームプリンタ1の概略構成を示す断面図である。図1において、レーザビームプリンタ1は、本体ケース2の底部に、図示しない用紙を給紙するフィーダユニットを備えている。フィーダユニットは、図示しないバネによって押圧される用紙押圧板10と、給紙ローラ11と、摩擦分離部材14とを備え、用紙押圧板10により用紙を給紙ローラ11に押圧し、給紙ローラ11の回転により給紙ローラ11と摩擦分離部材14との間で最上位の用紙を分離して所定のタイミングで用紙の供給を行う。

以上のような本実施形態のレーザビームプリンタ1において、感光ドラム20の表面が帯電器30により一様に帯電され、レーザスキャナユニット40から画像情報に従って変調されたレーザ光Lが照射されると、感光ドラム20の表面には静電潜像が形成される。この静電潜像は、現像器カートリッジ50によってトナーで可視像化され、感光ドラム20上に形成された可視像は感光ドラム20によって転写位置へと搬送される。転写位置においては、給紙ローラ11及びレジストローラ12及び13を介して用紙が供給され、前記可視像は転写ローラ21によって印加される転写バイアスにより、用紙に転写される。なお、転写後に感光ドラム20上に残ったトナーは、現像ローラ59によって現像室57に回収される。

次に、用紙は定着ユニット70に搬送され、定着ユニット70の加熱用ローラ71と押圧ローラ72によって挟持搬送され、用紙上の可視像は加圧及び加熱され、用紙上に定着される。そして、用紙は一対の搬送ローラ73及び排紙ローラ74によりレーザビームプリンタ1上部の排紙トレイ75に排出され、画像形成動作が終了する。

以上のような制御部は、各部毎にプリント基板上に回路素子等を実装することにより構成され、図3に示すようにプリンタ1の下部に設けられた基板取付部150に取り付けられる。例えば、印字制御部96の基板は、この基板取付部150の前方側に取り付けられる。但し、この印字制御部96の基板と接続されるパネル部100の基板は、図3に示すように、プリンタ1の前面部に取り付けられる。これらの印字制御部96の基板とパネル部100の基板との接続は以下に説明するハーネスにより行われる。

請求項1記載のLED制御装置によれば、スイッチ手段の一端をLEDと共通の電源端子に接続させると共に、他端を配線手段を介して制御手段の入力端子に接続させ、前記入力端子を、制御基板側で抵抗を介して接地させたので、配線手段は、スイッチ手段の前記一端側と制御手段の入力端子とを接続する線のみを備えていれば良く、スイッチ手段の前記他端側と制御手段の入力端子とを接続する線を備える必要がないので、接続線の本数を減少することができる。このように、制御手段の入力端子の論理を従来とは逆に設定することにより、配線手段における接続線の本数の減少し、コストの低減を図ることができる。
