Description
【0001】

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
The present invention relates to a pneumatic tire having a block in which a sipe is formed on a tread.
[0002]
[Prior art]
A general snow tire generally has a block pattern in which a plurality of sipes are arranged substantially in parallel in a configuration in which zigzag or straight main grooves and lug grooves continuous in the tire circumferential direction are combined.
[0003]
This sipe has an angle of 60 to 90 degrees with respect to the substantial tire circumferential direction, and extends without branching along the way.
[0004]
[Problems to be solved by the invention]
Due to the recent decrease in the coefficient of friction (μ) on frozen road surfaces due to the warm winter, it is desired to improve the on-ice brake performance of studless tires more than before.
[0005]
In particular, it has been found that it is important to remove the water film that appears on the contact surface on ice near 0 ° C. where the friction coefficient of the frozen road surface decreases most. For this reason, it is considered effective to arrange and drain the sipe extending in the circumferential direction of the tire, but in reality, the sipe extending in the circumferential direction closes when loaded (at the time of grounding) The removal effect of the water film that falls is reduced.
[0006]
In view of the above facts, an object of the present invention is to provide a pneumatic tire capable of improving the braking performance on ice more than ever.
[0007]
[Means for Solving the Problems]
The invention according to claim 1 is provided with a plurality of blocks provided on the tread tread surface portion and partitioned by a plurality of circumferential grooves extending substantially along the tire circumferential direction and a lateral groove extending substantially along the tire width direction. A sipe provided on the block and extending substantially along the tire circumferential direction and having both ends opened to the lateral groove, and the sipe has a branch sipe branched into two on the stepping side of the block The ratio of the tire circumferential projection length of the branch sipe to the value obtained by subtracting the tire circumferential projection length of the branch sipe from the entire circumferential projection length of the sipe is 0.2 to 0.5. the block is formed branched sub-block width increases toward the two branches sipes in divided by depression side, the angle θ of the branch sipe branches into two is 30 to 60 degrees, It is characterized by a door.
[0008]
Next, the operation of the pneumatic tire according to claim 1 will be described.
When a pneumatic tire rolls on ice and the ice surface is pressed by a block, water is drawn between the ice surface and the block.
[0009]
The water that is drawn out between the ice surface and the block is taken into the sipe formed in the block, flows through the sipe, and is discharged into the lateral groove.
[0010]
Here, because the sipe is arranged to extend substantially in the tire circumferential direction, it is possible to form a flow path at the time of rolling of the tire, and to remove more of the water that is drawn between the tire tread surface and the ice surface. It is.
[0011]
As described above, the water that has flown out to the tire tread portion is always discharged to the outside of the block, so that more water can be removed.
[0012]
In the block, sub-blocks divided by branched branch sipes are formed on the step-in side. Since the sub-block divided by the branch sipes can be less rigid than the other parts, it moves in a direction away from the block body during deceleration by braking. When the sub-block moves in this way, the branch sipes will open, increasing water drainage efficiency and improving on-ice braking performance.
The ratio of the tire circumferential projection length of the branch sipe to the value obtained by subtracting the tire circumferential projection length of the branch sipe from the entire circumferential projection length of the sipe is set to 0.2 to 0.5. It becomes possible to give the optimum rigidity. When the ratio is less than 0.2, the rigidity of the sub-block is too low, and the sub-block is liable to collapse during loading, and the ground contact area is reduced. On the other hand, if the ratio exceeds 0.5, the rigidity of the sub-block becomes too high, the sub-block becomes difficult to move during braking, the groove width does not increase, and the drainage efficiency cannot be improved.
Here, if the sipe is branched into a large number, the rigidity of the block is greatly reduced, and the block easily falls down due to an input from the road surface. When the block falls down, the ground contact surface of the block partially rises, leading to a decrease in the ground contact area, resulting in a decrease in performance on ice and snow. Therefore, it sipes if caused to branch into two the number of sub-blocks becomes one, it is possible to prevent a reduction in block rigidity, a reduction in ice performance due to a decrease in block rigidity can and child prevented.
Further, when the angle θ formed by the two branch sipes is less than 30 degrees, the sub-block whose width increases toward the stepping side becomes elongated and the rigidity of the sub-block is excessively lowered. On the other hand, when the angle θ exceeds 60 degrees, water does not flow smoothly at the branch portion, and the drainage efficiency decreases. For these reasons, the branching angle θ is set to 30 to 60 degrees.
[0013]
The invention according to claim 2 is characterized in that, in the pneumatic tire according to claim 1, the sipe is branched into a plurality on the kicking side of the block.
[0014]
In the pneumatic tire according to claim 2, since the sipe is branched on both the kicking side and the stepping side of the block, even if the mounting direction of the tire is reversed due to rotation of the tire, the sipe is always on the stepping side. A branched sipe can be arranged, and a tire without rotational directionality can be obtained.

According to a third aspect of the present invention, a plurality of blocks defined by a plurality of circumferential grooves provided on the tread tread surface portion and extending substantially along the tire circumferential direction and a lateral groove extending substantially along the tire width direction are provided. The block is formed with a sipe extending substantially along the tire circumferential direction. The sipe opens at least in a lateral groove on the kicking side on the kicking side, and the sipe branches into a plurality on the stepping side. In addition, a part of the branch sipe branched into the plurality is opened in the lateral groove on the stepping side, and the remaining part is opened in the circumferential groove, and the tire circumferential direction of the branch sipe is calculated from the entire circumferential projection length of the sipe. The ratio of the projected length in the tire circumferential direction of the branch sipe to the value obtained by subtracting the projected length is 0.2 to 0.5 , and the circumferential groove has a portion extending along the tire circumferential direction of the sipe. Before opening Branch sipe is inclined at an angle less than 90 degrees, it is characterized in that.
[0020]
Next, the operation of the pneumatic tire according to claim 3 will be described.
When a pneumatic tire rolls on ice and the ice surface is pressed by a block, water is drawn between the ice surface and the block.
[0021]
The water that is drawn out between the ice surface and the block is taken into a sipe formed in the block. The water taken into the sipe flows through the sipe from the kicking side to the stepping side during braking, and is discharged into a lateral groove and a circumferential groove on the stepping side. As described above, the water that has flown out to the tire tread portion is always discharged to the outside of the block, so that more water can be removed.
[0022]
[0023]
[0024]
[0025]
[0026]
[0027]
According to a fourth aspect of the present invention, in the pneumatic tire according to any one of the first to third aspects, the groove width of the branch portion (branch sipe) of the sipe is 0.1 to 1.2 mm. It is characterized by being.
[0028]
Since the groove width of the branching portion is set to 0.1 to 1.2 mm, a groove width that can be drained at the time of grounding can be secured.
[0029]
When the groove width of the branching portion is less than 0.1 mm, the drainage efficiency is greatly reduced. When the groove width exceeds 1.2 mm, the actual ground contact area of the block is reduced, and the performance on ice and snow is reduced.
[0030]
According to a fifth aspect of the present invention, in the pneumatic tire according to any one of the first to fourth aspects, the groove width of the main part of the sipe is 0.3 to 1.5 mm. It is said.
[0031]
Since the groove width of the main body portion is set to 0.3 to 1.5 mm, a groove width that can be drained at the time of grounding can be secured.
[0032]
When the groove width of the main body portion is less than 0.3 mm, sufficient drainage is impossible, and when it exceeds 1.5 mm, the actual ground contact area of the block is lowered and the performance on ice and snow is lowered.

[Test example]
In order to confirm the effect of the present invention, four types of example tires to which the present invention was applied and one type of conventional tire (both tire sizes are 205 / 65R15) were prepared. A performance comparison was made.
(Test method)
Brake performance on ice: A test tire was mounted on an actual vehicle, and the vehicle was suddenly braked (locked) while traveling on the ice board at a speed of 20 km / h, and the braking distance was measured.
[0065]
On-ice traction performance: A test tire was mounted on an actual vehicle, and the acceleration time from the start at a distance of 20 m on the ice plate was measured.
[0066]
In addition, the structure of the conventional tire used for the test, the comparative example tire, and the example tire will be described below.
[0067]
Example tire 1: The tire described in the second embodiment (see FIG. 4).
Example tire 2: The tire described in the third embodiment (see FIG. 5).
[0068]
Example tire 3: The tire described in the fifth embodiment (see FIG. 7).
Example tire 4: The tire described in the fourth embodiment (see FIG. 6).
[0069]
Conventional Example Tire: As shown in FIG. 8, a tire in which two
[0070]
The number and size of the blocks (tire circumferential dimension 31.4 mm, tire width dimension 27.4 mm, height 9.7 mm) are the same for each tire.
[0071]
The specifications and evaluation of Sipe are as shown in Table 1 below. The evaluation is shown by an index display with the conventional tire as 100, and the larger the value, the better the performance.
[0072]
[Table 1]
[0073]
As a result of the test, it can be seen that the brake performance on ice of Example tires 1 to 4 to which the present invention is applied is greatly improved as compared with the conventional tires.
[0074]
In addition, the example tire 2 in which the sipe is branched on both the stepping-in side and the kicking-out side has improved traction performance on ice than the example tire 1. This is because the sipe kick-out side branch at the time of traction opens and drainage is improved.
[0075]
Moreover, in the block of Example tire 3, since the edge component extended in the tire width direction of the branch part of a sipe is longer than the other examples, the on-ice traction performance is particularly improved.
[0076]
【The invention's effect】
As described above, since the pneumatic tire according to claim 1 has the above-described configuration, it is possible to increase the discharge efficiency of the water that has been opened to the tire tread portion by opening the branch sipes during deceleration by braking. This has the excellent effect that the braking performance on ice can be improved. In addition, it is possible to ensure drainage performance and to give an appropriate block rigidity to the sub-block formed by the branched sipes .
[0077]
Since the pneumatic tire according to claim 2 has the above configuration, it has an excellent effect that it can be a tire having no rotational directionality.
[0078]
[0079]
[0080]
Since the pneumatic tire according to claim 3 has the above-described configuration, the branch sipe can be opened at the time of deceleration by braking to increase the discharge efficiency of the water that has flown out to the tire tread portion. It has an excellent effect that the performance can be improved.
[0081]
[0082]
Since the pneumatic tire according to claim 4 has the above-described configuration, it has an excellent effect of ensuring drainage performance and suppressing deterioration of performance on ice.
[0083]
Since the pneumatic tire according to claim 5 has the above-described configuration, it has excellent effects of ensuring drainage performance and suppressing deterioration of performance on ice.
