BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
The present invention converts volume data in a device that generates musical sounds mechanically, electrically or electronically, thereby enabling dynamic volume to be freely set and volume to be freely set. The present invention relates to a conversion device.
[0002]
[Prior art]
Conventionally, various musical instruments that electronically generate musical sounds have been provided. For example, an electronic musical instrument is configured to electronically generate a musical sound having a volume corresponding to a key pressing speed by measuring a key operation of a keyboard with a sensor. Recently, a keyboard instrument called a mute piano has been provided. This mute performance piano repels a hammer that rotates by pressing a key just before hitting a string, and generates a musical sound electronically instead of generating a string hitting sound. In this case as well, performance data is created by measuring the operation of the key when the key is depressed, and a musical tone having a volume corresponding to the key depression speed is generated from the electronic sound source based on the performance data. In addition, it is mainly used for practice, but it has a piano action and other mechanisms, but does not have a string, and when hitting the key, it hits the hit object with a hammer. Is also provided. Also in such a keyboard instrument, for example, the strength of hammering is detected by a pressure-sensitive element provided on the hit object, and a musical tone having a volume corresponding to the strength of the hammer is generated electronically or electrically. It has become.
[0003]
By the way, in a natural musical instrument such as an acoustic piano, the key pressing speed and the volume do not correspond linearly, and the relationship between the key pressing speed and the volume is different for each key. For this reason, in a keyboard instrument such as a mute piano, a conversion table for obtaining volume data to be output from the measured key pressing speed is stored in the memory for each key, and the conversion table is referenced for each key pressing. To generate volume data.
[0004]
[Problems to be solved by the invention]
However, simply setting the relationship between the key-pressing speed and volume does not provide a feeling of playing an acoustic piano. This is because the dampers of acoustic tech pianos become heavier as they move from the high to low side, but the above-mentioned practice piano does not have a damper, so the resistance when the keys are pressed is low. It is smaller than in the case of a tech piano, and the difference in resistance at the time of key depression increases as it goes to the bass side. For this reason, if a performance is performed in the same manner as an acoustic piano, the key pressing speed becomes faster on the low tone side, and the volume increases. For this reason, the volume set in the conversion table often does not easily match the volume of the acoustic piano, and the feeling when playing is different depending on the performer, making it difficult to determine the volume for commercialization. was there.
[0005]
However, both the mute piano and the practice piano have volume knobs, and the volume can be adjusted. However, such a volume knob raises and lowers the volume of all sounds equally, and thus only raises and lowers the dynamic range as a whole. Therefore, the volume knob has a drawback that it is difficult to set a sound volume for each key depression, and it is difficult to produce a loud sound when the sound volume is reduced. In addition, there is a circumstance that it is easier to perform the music reading by pressing the key while following the music score without adding the strength of the sound.
[0006]
Furthermore, in an auto-playing piano, there is a problem that when the volume is reduced, the treble becomes inconspicuous as compared with the mid-bass. In other words, the high-pitched strings are shorter than the mid-low-pitched parts, and will not sound enough unless the strings are struck at a certain level of strength (speed), making it difficult to hear the high-pitched parts of the music when the volume is turned down. There is. It should be noted that there is an unbalance between the volume of the low-pitched portion and the volume of the high-pitched portion in the same piano, not limited to the automatic performance piano. For example, even in the same piano, a loud sound is produced in a specific range compared to the keystroke speed, but in another specific range, only a small sound is produced compared to the keystroke speed. Therefore, it becomes difficult to reproduce the performance data without losing the nuance of the original performance.
[0007]
In short, there is a difference between the balance between the bass and treble parts of an upright piano and the balance described above for a concert grand piano. Such a difference reproduces the performance data from the piano that records the performance data. If it is present between the piano and the piano, it is difficult to reproduce the performance data without losing the nuance of the original performance. Note that the above differences may exist as individual differences even in the same type of piano, and even the same piano may be caused by aging.
[0008]
Therefore, the present invention has been made in view of the above circumstances, and has as its first object to provide a volume data conversion device that can freely set the dynamic range and volume, and freely balance the volume with respect to the sound range. A second object is to provide a volume data converter that can be set.
[0009]
[Means for Solving the Problems]
The volume data converter according to
[0015]
According to the sound volume data conversion apparatus of the first aspect, by setting outputs for at least three input values by the operation unit, the conversion characteristics are set by interpolating between the outputs..
[0017]
In addition, Ki-By setting a correction amount for the output value for a plurality of input values of the pitch data by the scaling operation unit, a correction characteristic for the pitch data is set by interpolating between the correction amounts. Since the volume data conversion unit outputs volume information based on the conversion characteristics and the conversion characteristics for volume data, when a set of volume data and pitch data is input, the operation unit and the key scaling operation unit A musical tone with a volume corresponding to the input is generated.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION
(1) Configuration of the first embodiment
A first embodiment of the present invention will be described below with reference to FIGS. In the first embodiment, the present invention is applied to a mute piano. FIG. 1 is a diagram showing the configuration of the lower side of the keyboard. As shown in FIG. 1, a shutter KS is provided below the

Next, FIG. 2 is a block diagram showing the configuration of the controller 100 in the first embodiment. The illustrated controller 100 detects the key release timing and the key pressing speed from the light-shielded state of the key sensor KSE. Based on this, MIDI data is generated. In FIG. 2,

FIG. 4 is a plan view showing the volume switch 110. As shown in FIG. 4, the volume switch 110 has a plurality of slide keys (operation unit, conversion characteristic input unit) 111a,. Here, the key velocity when the key is pressed to generate a musical sound with the minimum volume (pianissimo) that can be produced by an acoustic piano is (01), and the key is pressed at a speed lower than the key velocity (01). If it is made, the

Then, by adjusting the position of the leftmost slide key 111a (hereinafter, this slide key is also referred to as a pianissimo setting key (dynamic range input unit)), a key to be output with respect to the supplied key velocity (01) The velocity can be set freely. For example, in the state shown in FIG. 4, the pianissimo setting key 111a is set to (01), and when the key velocity (01) is input to the volume

In addition, when the key is pressed to produce a musical sound with the maximum volume (fortissimo) sounded by an acoustic piano, the key velocity is set to (7F), and the key is pressed at a speed exceeding the key velocity (7F). The

As shown in FIG. 4, when the dynamic range of the key velocity set by the pianissimo setting key 111a and the fortissimo setting key 111g is the maximum, and the slide keys 111b to 111f are located on the straight line from the minimum value to the maximum value. The key velocities output for the input key velocities (01) to (7F) are the same as the values indicated by the conversion characteristic input keys 111b to 111f. Here, when the pianissimo setting key 111a and the fortissimo setting key 111g are moved upward or downward from the state shown in FIG. 4, the key velocity output for the input key velocities (01) to (7F) is changed. (2) Operation of the first embodiment
A. Setting conversion characteristics
First, the operation for setting the conversion characteristics by the volume data converter will be described. In the state shown in FIG. 4, the pianissimo setting key 111a is set to (01), and the fortesimo setting key 111g is set to (7F). The conversion characteristic input keys 111b to 111f are respectively set to (01), (20), (40), (60), and (7F). Therefore, the key velocities output from the volume data converter are (01), (20), (40), (60), and (7F), respectively, and increase linearly.
[0032]
The conversion
[0033]
The conversion table creation method performed by the conversion
(1) First, the absolute value of the difference between the set values of the conversion characteristic input key 111g and the conversion characteristic input key 111a is taken.
(2) Next, for the set positions of the conversion characteristic input keys 111b to 111f, the ratio to the dynamic range, that is, the key velocity (7f)-(01) is obtained. (3) Multiply the above (1) and (2) to obtain the converted velocity of each of the conversion characteristic input keys 111b to 111f.
(4) The input values (01), (20), (40), (60), (7F) of the conversion characteristic input keys 111b to 111f and the velocities obtained in (3) above are added to the quartic function. Enter to find the coefficient.
(5) While increasing the input velocity by one from (01), input to the quartic function obtained in (4) above, and create a conversion table.
[0034]
In this case, if the conversion characteristic input keys 111b to 111f are set to lower right, the output value increases when the input value is small, and conversely, the output value decreases when the input value is large. At this time, the dynamic range is determined by the conversion
[0035]
B. Silent performance
When the key 10 is pressed, the operation of the key 10 is detected by the key sensor KSE as follows. When the key 10 is lowered, the shutter KS attached to the key 10 shields the light sensor above the key sensor KSE, and then shields the light sensor below. Then, based on the output signal of the key sensor KSE, the

Next, a case will be described in which the fortesimo setting key 111g is lowered from (7F) from the state shown in FIG. 4 and a mute performance is performed in accordance with (60) (see FIG. 5). In this case, since the fortissimo setting key 111g is set to (60), the key velocity output to the input key velocity (7F) is (60). Then, the conversion

In this case, since the fortissimo setting key 111g is set to (60) and the pianissimo setting key 111a is set to (20), the key velocity output for the input key velocities (01) and (7F). In the setting of the volume switch 110 shown in FIG. 7, the overall volume is small and the dynamic range is narrow. Therefore, it is difficult to produce a sound with a high volume, and the volume feeling is also small, but it is convenient because it is less likely to be confused with the volume when performing music reading.
[0045]
Next, in FIG. 8, the conversion characteristic input key 111b indicates a value larger than the value indicated by the pianissimo setting key 111a, and the conversion characteristic input key 111f indicates a value smaller than the value indicated by the fortissimo setting key 111g. This is an example. In this example, the conversion

[0047]
In the setting of the volume switch 110 shown in FIG. 8, the volume is deeply intensified and the dynamic range is wide. Therefore, it is suitable for playing various music such as classical music. Also, when the volume switch 110 is set as shown in FIG. 9, a conversion table is created in the same manner as in FIG. In the setting shown in FIG. 9, it is easy to make a loud sound and the sound volume is large, but the dynamic range is narrow.
[0048]
In the volume data conversion apparatus having the above configuration, the key velocity to be output with respect to the input key velocity can be arbitrarily set. Therefore, a favorite volume can be set depending on whether the performance is listened to with headphones or speakers. Also, depending on the size of the room in which the performance is performed, whether it is performed at night or in the daytime, classical or jazz, or a quiet song, a lively song, or a hearty performance or finger practice, etc. Can be set as appropriate, which is very convenient. For example, the volume can be appropriately set according to the situation as described above, such as narrowing the dynamic range in a small volume range or narrowing the dynamic range in a large volume range.
[0049]
In particular, in the first embodiment, the dynamic range can be adjusted only by operating the pianissimo setting key 111a and the fortissimo setting key 111g without operating the conversion characteristic input keys 111b,. Simple. Also, since the setting of the volume can be seen at a glance by the arrangement of the slide keys 111a,. Furthermore, since the output side key velocity is corrected so as to form a curve, the change in volume is smooth and the user feels uncomfortable.
[0050]
(3) Configuration of the second embodiment
Next, a second embodiment of the present invention will be described with reference to FIGS. The application object of the volume data conversion device according to the second embodiment is an automatic performance piano, which is different from the first embodiment, but the main part relating to the present invention can be applied in common to the mute performance piano and the automatic performance piano. Therefore, description of parts not directly related to the present invention will be omitted.
[0051]
Within the scope of the present invention, the automatic piano in the second embodiment is different from that in the first embodiment in that a

In addition, 214a to 214g are up / down switches whose longitudinal directions are arranged in the vertical direction in the drawing, and are provided at positions corresponding to the pairs of the indicators, and the upper “+” portion (the lower “−”). When the (part) is pressed, the position of the indicator on the corresponding indicator is raised (lowered) according to the pressing time or the number of times of pressing. A volume knob or the like can be used instead of the up / down switch.

(5) Example of change
Hereinafter, modified examples of the above-described embodiments will be described. Here, in order to avoid complication of explanation, a modification example will be given mainly focusing on the first embodiment, but the second embodiment having the same functions as those in the first embodiment will be described below. Needless to say, this applies to the form.
[0068]
(A) Although the pianissimo setting key 111a and the fortissimo setting key 111g are provided in the first embodiment, the problem of the present invention can be solved by using only the conversion characteristic input keys 111b to 111f. That is, the conversion characteristic may be set together with the dynamic range by operating the conversion characteristic input keys 111b and 111f.
(B) In the first embodiment, five conversion characteristic input keys 111b,... Are provided. However, if there are at least three, the conversion characteristic can be set roughly. Further, by providing more than five, it becomes possible to perform fine setting. The same applies to the
(C) In the first embodiment, after linearly interpolating between the output side key velocities set by the conversion characteristic input keys 111b,..., The output side key velocity is corrected so as to form a curve. Only interpolation may be performed. The same can be said for the conversion table creation process for the key number in the second embodiment.
[0069]
(D) In the first embodiment, the conversion characteristic input keys 111b,... Are provided by equally dividing the input key velocity from the minimum value (01) to the maximum value (7F). It can also be provided. For example, the conversion characteristic input key 111c can be used to set the output side key velocity for the input of the key velocity (30). At that time, the player may arbitrarily set the key velocity assigned to each of the conversion characteristic input keys 111b to 111f. That is, for example, it is possible to set the output side key velocity for the input of the
Further, for example, the conversion characteristic input keys 111b,... Can be provided by dividing the input key velocity from an intermediate value (for example, 20) to an intermediate value (for example, 60). In this case, the output side key velocity up to the minimum value (01) and the maximum value (7F) is set by extending the curve (or straight line) formed by the output side key velocity set by the conversion characteristic input keys 111b,. be able to.
A storage means for storing a conversion table of standard conversion characteristics, and an operator for selecting a conversion table stored in the storage means and a conversion table set by the volume switch 110 are provided. The velocity may be converted using the conversion table selected by the operator. In this case, it is better to prepare a plurality of conversion tables to be stored so that an arbitrary table can be selected from them. In addition, if this storage means is writable and the conversion table set by the volume switch 110 can be stored in this storage means, the arbitrarily set conversion table can be easily reproduced. It becomes possible.

[0073]
The ability to set the correction value independently for any key means that it is possible to equalize only for one particular key or keys, and therefore The ease of ringing and the difficulty of ringing can also be corrected. In addition, since values can be set for most keys by interpolation and correction values can be corrected only for specific keys, fine settings can be made and one correction value for all keys can be set. Compared with the case of setting one, the setting operation can be simplified. In the above-described example, the index is displayed on the image schematically representing the keyboard, but the area on the

Note that (i) and (j) described above are similarly applicable to the first embodiment if a display unit such as a liquid crystal panel is employed.
[0075]
As described above, in the volume data converter of the present invention, the volume data to be output can be arbitrarily set for the input volume data. Therefore, the volume can be set appropriately according to various situations, which is very convenient.TheFurthermore, since the degree of conversion applied to the input volume data can be set for each pitch data, the volume balance for the range can be set as appropriate, which is very convenient. The
