電子目次本と呼ばれる装置がある。たとえば特開平１０−３０１５８２号公報や特開平２０００−９９０４０号公報に開示されたものが代表的であるが、これはキーボードやタッチパネルなどの操作入力装置、ディスプレイ、ハードディスク装置などを備えたノートパソコンなどを用いて構成され、カラオケ装置とは赤外線インタフェースやＲＳ−２３２Ｃインタフェースなどで結合される。ハードディスク装置には各カラオケ楽曲の楽曲ＩＤを曲名、歌手名、作詞家、作曲家といった所定の検索キーにより分類整理したデータベースが格納されており、カラオケ利用者に多彩な検索機能を提供する。たとえば曲名による検索では、利用者が入力したかな表記による文字列がその曲名に含まれている楽曲を検索し、ディスプレイに一覧表示する。電子目次本を用いると、このような対話形式で簡単に利用者が選曲した楽曲の楽曲ＩＤをカラオケ装置に伝達して演奏予約することができる。

カラオケ利用者はまず上記の電子目次本を用いて歌いたい曲の楽曲ＩＤを調べてカラオケ装置に演奏の予約をする。しかし電子目次本はカラオケ店の客室にせいぜい１台ないし数台しか備わっていない。カラオケを大勢で利用する場合などには、電子目次本の取りあいになる場面が容易に想定される。たとえ各人があらかじめ歌う曲を決めておいたとしても状況は変わらない。このような装置には一度に入力できる人は一人だけであるし、あらかじめ入力作業をしておくこともできないからである。

【発明の開示】
近頃では、インターネットのブラウザ機能やＪＡＶＡアプレット実行機能などを搭載した高機能な携帯電話機が爆発的に普及している。カラオケを利用する人の多くがこのような携帯電話機を所有しており操作にも慣れている。そこで、各人が自己所有の携帯電話機を用いてあらかじめ楽曲の検索をしておいたり、これをそのまま用いて予約ができたりすると大変に便利である。しかも、大抵のカラオケ利用者は、音楽の好みや歌唱できる音域に合わせて、限られた数人の好きなアーティストの楽曲の中から選曲する傾向にあることから、アーティスト名を登録することができると、同じアーティストの多数の楽曲を登録しておく手間が省けて便利である。

この発明に係る携帯ブラウザ端末は、つぎの事項（１）〜（12）により特定され、カラオケ利用者支援サーバーを媒介にしてカラオケ装置の演奏予約ツールとして機能することを特徴とするものである。
（１）主通信手段と、局所通信手段と、記憶手段と、表示手段と、操作入力手段と、制御手段を備えた携帯ブラウザ端末であること
（２）主通信手段は、公衆ネットワーク上のカラオケ利用者支援サーバーと無線通信可能とすること
（３）局所通信手段は、近辺に存在するカラオケ装置と無線通信可能とすること
（４）記憶手段は、アーティスト名を含むアーティストリストと、曲名と楽曲ＩＤを対応付けた曲目リストを格納すること
（５）表示手段は、制御手段の制御により情報を表示すること
（６）操作入力手段は、利用者による操作入力を受け付け可能とすること
（７）制御手段は、利用者入力に応答して、アーティスト選択処理と、曲目選択処理とを可能とすること

【発明の実施の形態】
