本発明は、アルミ合金溶接方法及びアルミ合金溶接装置に関し、特に、純アルミを含むアルミ合金から形成される2枚の板の端面を突き合わせて溶接する突き合わせ溶接に利用されるアルミ合金溶接方法及びアルミ合金溶接装置に関する。

【従来の技術】
加圧された気体または液化ガスを貯蔵する球形タンクがLNG運搬船に適用されて使用されている。その球形タンクは、多数のアルミ合金製の板がアーク溶接により接合されて形成されている。球形タンクの接合部分を溶接する溶接装置が望まれている。

図13は、公知の溶接装置を示している。その溶接装置100は、オシレーション装置101、ワイヤ送給器102および電源装置103を備えている。ワイヤ送給器102は、オシレーション装置101にワイヤ104を供給する。ワイヤ104は、母材105の被溶接部107に付加される溶加材である。オシレーション装置101は、トーチ106を備えている。トーチ106は、被溶接部107にワイヤ104とシールドガスとを供給し、ワイヤ104と被溶接部107との間に高圧の電圧を印加してアークを発生させて被溶接部107を溶接する。オシレーション装置101は、溶加材が被溶接部107に十分に充填されるように、トーチ106を運動させる。電源装置103は、アークを発生させるための高圧の電圧を生成する。

本発明のさらに他の課題は、ビードの積層が少なく、かつ、融合不良が少ないアルミ合金溶接方法及びアルミ合金溶接装置を提供することにある。

【発明の実施の形態】
図面を参照して、本発明によるアルミ合金溶接装置の実施の形態を説明する。そのアルミ合金溶接装置は、図1に示されているように、トーチ1を備えている。トーチ1は、給電チップ2と溶接ノズル3とを備えている。給電チップ2は、ワイヤ4を一定の速度で母材5の被溶接部6に供給し、ワイヤ4と母材5との間に高圧の電圧を印加する。溶接ノズル3は、シールドガスを被溶接部6に噴射して供給する。そのシールドガスとしては、アルゴンArまたはヘリウムHeが例示される。
