TAU(3)=TAUB−TTC
TC(j)=TAU(j)・kC

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
The present invention relates to a fuel injection device for an internal combustion engine.
[0002]
[Prior art]
2. Description of the Related Art Conventionally, there is known a fuel injection device for a diesel engine that performs sub-injection, that is, for example, pilot injection at a time interval from main injection within one combustion cycle.
By the way, in a general diesel engine, a required fuel injection amount necessary to make the engine output coincide with the required output is calculated, and this required fuel injection amount is set as the fuel injection amount of the main injection. However, when the pilot injection is performed, the fuel of the pilot injection contributes to the generation of the engine output. Therefore, when the required fuel injection amount is the fuel injection amount of the main injection, the actual engine output becomes larger than the required output. End up. Therefore, a fuel injection device for a diesel engine is known in which the fuel injection amount for main injection is obtained by subtracting the fuel injection amount for pilot injection from the required fuel injection amount (see Japanese Patent Application Laid-Open No. 6-129296).
[0003]
[Problems to be solved by the invention]
The reason why the fuel injection amount of the main injection is calculated in this way is that it is considered that all of the fuel of the pilot injection contributes to the engine output generation. However, since fuel injected at a time interval from the main injection as in pilot injection diffuses into the combustion chamber, not all of it necessarily contributes to generation of engine output. Therefore, in the method of the above-mentioned publication, there is a problem that the actual engine output becomes smaller than the required output as a result of extra subtraction from the required fuel injection amount. In other words, the fuel injection amount of the main injection obtained in this way is no longer optimal.
[0004]
Therefore, an object of the present invention is to provide a fuel injection device for an internal combustion engine that can maintain the fuel injection amount of the main injection optimally.
[0005]
[Means for Solving the Problems]
In order to solve the above-described problem, according to the first aspect of the present invention, the sub-injection is performed at a time interval from the main injection within one combustion cycle, and the engine output matches the required output per combustion cycle. The basic fuel injection amount necessary for the sub-injection is calculated, the fuel injection amount of the sub-injection is calculated, and the fuel injection amount of the main injection when the sub-injection is performed is calculated from the basic fuel injection amount and the fuel injection amount of the sub-injection the fuel injection system of an internal combustion engine so as to calculate the fuel injection amount of the main injection when the sub injection is performed, to be greater than minus fuel injection amount of the auxiliary injection from the basic fuel injection amount The actual engine output matches the required output . That is, in the first invention, for example, the actual engine output is prevented from becoming smaller than the required output, and therefore the fuel injection amount of the main injection is optimally maintained.
[0006]
According to the second invention, in the first invention, the fuel of the main injection when the sub-injection is performed by subtracting the fuel injection amount of the sub-injection that has been reduced from the basic fuel injection amount. The injection amount is calculated. Ie, in the second invention, the fuel injection amount of main injection is optimally maintained.
According to the third invention, in the first invention, the total fuel injection amount supplied to the engine in one combustion cycle is calculated by summing the fuel injection amount of the main injection and the fuel injection amount of the sub-injection. I am doing so. That is, in the third invention, the total fuel injection amount supplied to the engine in one combustion cycle is accurately obtained.
[0007]
DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION
FIG. 1 shows a case where the present invention is applied to a diesel engine. However, the present invention can also be applied to a spark ignition engine.

[0012]
Pilot injection injects a small amount of fuel prior to main injection. The pilot injection is performed, for example, at a compression stroke before the main injection, that is, for example, at a compression top dead center (hereinafter referred to as BTDC) 70 to 0 ° crank angle (hereinafter referred to as CA), and a time interval with respect to the main injection. When the value is large, a premixed gas is formed, and when the value is small, an ignition source for igniting and burning fuel by main injection is formed. It is also possible to perform a plurality of pilot injections. Therefore, it is possible to perform both pilot injection for premixed gas formation and pilot injection for forming an ignition source, and pilot for premixed gas formation. It is also possible to perform the injection multiple times. In this embodiment, two pilot injections can be performed. The pilot injection performed first is referred to as a first pilot injection, and the pilot injection performed later is referred to as a second pilot injection.
[0013]
The post-injection is performed after the main injection is completed in order to completely burn HC in the combustion gas or exhaust gas and reduce soot discharged from the engine. This post-injection is preferably performed while the combustion flame remains in the combustion chamber. For example, the post-injection is performed from
[0014]
The HC supply injection is for supplying HC (hydrocarbon) as a reducing agent to the NO x reduction catalyst 14. This HC supply injection is performed, for example, from about BTDC-150 after completion of main injection or post-injection to about -210 ° CA. The fuel from the HC supply injection reaches the NO x reduction catalyst 14 without complete combustion, and reduces the inflow NO x .
[0015]
FIG. 2A schematically shows the fuel injection timing of each fuel injection action with arrows. Here, j represents the order or type of fuel injection that can be performed in one combustion cycle of each cylinder, that is, j = 1 is the first pilot injection, j = 2 is the second pilot injection, and j = 3 represents main injection, j = 4 represents post-injection, and j = 5 represents HC supply injection.
[0016]
While main injection is always performed in one combustion cycle of each cylinder, whether or not pilot injection, post-injection, and HC supply injection are performed is determined by the engine operating state. Therefore, the number of fuel injections performed in one combustion cycle of each cylinder can be changed between 1 and 5. For example, in the example shown in FIG. 2B, fuel injection is performed only four times in one combustion cycle of each cylinder, and in the example shown in FIG. 2C, it is performed only three times.
[0017]
If the fuel injection time and the fuel injection timing of the jth fuel injection action (j = 1, 2, 3, 4, 5) in one combustion cycle of each cylinder are represented by TAU (j) and IT (j), respectively. For example, the fuel injection time of the main injection is represented by TAU (3), and the fuel injection timing of the post injection is represented by IT (4). Here, the fuel injection timing IT (j) is expressed with reference to the compression top dead center of each cylinder. Further, since TAU (j) = 0 when the sub-injection is not performed, the fuel injection time TAU (j) also indicates the presence or absence of the sub-injection.
[0018]
The fuel injection timing of the main injection and the sub injection, and the fuel injection time of the sub injection are calculated based on the engine operating state. More specifically, the fuel injection times TAU (1) and TAU (2) and the basic fuel injection timings IT (1) and IT (2) for the first and second pilot injections are good premixed gas or ignition. The fuel injection time and fuel injection timing required to form the source are stored in advance in the
[0019]
On the other hand, the fuel injection time TAU (3) of the main injection is calculated based on the following equation, for example.
TAU (3) = TAUB-TTC
Here, TAUB represents the basic fuel injection time, and TTC represents the total torque generation contribution value.
[0020]
The basic fuel injection time TAUB is the fuel injection time required per combustion cycle to make the engine output torque coincide with the required output torque. This basic fuel injection time TAUB is calculated in advance by experiments as a function of the engine operating state, for example, the accelerator pedal depression amount DEP and the engine speed N. As described above, since the main injection is for generating the engine output torque, the basic fuel injection time TAUB represents the fuel injection time of the main injection when it is assumed that only the main injection is performed. .
[0021]
The total torque generation contribution value TTC is the sum of the torque generation contribution values TC (j) (j = 1, 2, 4, 5) of each sub-injection, and this torque generation contribution value TC (j) It represents the portion of the injection that contributes to the generation of engine output torque. Next, the torque generation contribution value TC (j) will be described in detail.
Assuming that all of the fuel from the secondary injection contributes to the generation of the engine output torque, the fuel injection time TAU (3) of the main injection is obtained by subtracting the total fuel injection time of the sub injection from the basic fuel injection time TAUB. (TAU (3) = TAUB− (TAU (1) + TAU (2) + TAU (4) + TAU (5))). Otherwise, the actual engine output torque is larger than the required output torque.
[0022]
However, since the fuel of the sub-injection performed at a time interval from the main injection diffuses into the combustion chamber, not all of it necessarily contributes to the generation of the engine output torque. Accordingly, if the result of simply subtracting is the fuel injection time TAU (3) of the main injection, it is subtracted and the actual engine output torque becomes smaller than the required output torque.
[0023]
Then, if only the amount of sub-injection that contributes to engine output torque generation is subtracted from the basic fuel injection time, the fuel injection of the main injection required to make the actual engine output torque match the required output torque without excess or deficiency The time TAU (3) can be obtained.
Therefore, in the present embodiment, a torque generation contribution value TC (j) (j = 1, 2, 4, 5) representing the amount contributing to engine output torque generation is obtained for each sub-injection, and the total obtained by summing these values. The fuel injection time TAU (3) of the main injection is obtained by subtracting the torque generation contribution value TTC from the basic fuel injection time TAUB.
[0024]
In the present embodiment, the torque generation contribution value TC (j) (j = 1, 2, 4, 5) is calculated by the following equation.
TC (j) = TAU (j) · kC
Here, kC represents a torque generation contribution rate.
The torque generation contribution rate kC ( ≦ 1.0) represents the ratio of the sub-injection fuel injection time that contributes to engine output torque generation, and is obtained in advance by experiments. As shown in FIG. 3, this torque generation contribution rate kC is a time interval DIF (= | IT (3) −) between the fuel injection timing IT (j) of the sub injection from the fuel injection timing IT (3) of the main injection. When IT (j) |) is small, it is maintained at 1.0, and decreases as the time interval DIF increases. Further, when the fuel injection time TAU (j) of the secondary injection is large, the torque generation contribution rate kC is larger than when it is small. The torque generation contribution rate kC is stored in advance in the
[0025]
Therefore, generally speaking, the fuel injection time TAU (3) for the main injection is calculated by subtracting the fuel injection time for sub-injection that has been corrected for reduction from the basic fuel injection time TAUB. The fuel injection time TAU (3) of the main injection calculated in this way is longer than the basic fuel injection time TAUB minus the sum of the sub-injection fuel injection times.
[0026]
Further, the total fuel injection time TTAU of one combustion cycle is obtained by adding the fuel injection time TAU (3) of the main injection and the fuel injection time TAU (j) (j = 1, 2, 4, 5) of the sub injection. Calculated. Based on the total fuel injection time TTAU, for example, the target fuel pressure in the

FIG. 4 shows a routine for calculating the fuel injection time TAU (j) and fuel injection timing IT (j) (j = 1, 2, 3, 4, 5) for the main injection and the sub-injection, and the total fuel injection time TTAU. Yes. This routine is executed by interruption every predetermined time.
