Description
【0001】
この実験では、スペーサ14の高さ0mm(スペーサ14により各固定部10a〜10dを持ち上げていない状態)のときにおける走査線の傾きを0としている。

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
BACKGROUND OF THE
[0002]
[Prior art]
Many laser scanning devices used in laser printers, digital copying machines, facsimile machines, etc. are unitized in consideration of exchangeability and ease of maintenance.
For mounting the laser scanning device to the image forming apparatus main body, for example, a fixing portion provided in the laser scanning device is generally fixed to a mounting seat surface formed on a pedestal with screws. .
[0003]
Such a laser scanning device is manufactured so that a predetermined performance is obtained in a unit state by making necessary adjustments on its own, but the same performance continues after it is incorporated into the image forming apparatus main body. In order to be able to maintain the above, it is necessary to improve the component accuracy of both the laser scanning device and the image forming apparatus main body.
For this reason, in some cases, the precision of parts that is difficult to manufacture may be obtained, and even if the precision of the parts is obtained, the manufacturing cost may become very high.
[0004]
In such a laser scanning device, it is particularly important to maintain the positional relationship between the main scanning direction of the laser scanning device and the sub-scanning direction of the image forming unit of the image forming apparatus main body at a right angle. For this reason, in many cases, the operation of adjusting the inclination of the scanning line of the scanning performed by the laser scanning device is performed with the laser scanning device attached.
Hereinafter, a conventional mechanism capable of adjusting the inclination of the scanning line will be described.
[0005]
For example, in the apparatus described in Japanese Patent Application Laid-Open No. 5-119276, screws (adjustment feet) for adjusting the seating surface height are provided at two of the three fixing portions each having a mounting hole formed in the optical box. And the height of the seating surface of the optical box can be adjusted by the screw.
In the apparatus described in JP-A-8-11348, a plate formed at a wedge-shaped angle θ is provided between an optical box (optical unit) and the apparatus main body, the plate, the optical box, and the plate And the apparatus main body are each mounted on a plane, and are configured to be rotatable about each reference pin in each plane so that a minute angle about the angle θ can be adjusted.
[0006]
[Problems to be solved by the invention]
However, the device described in Japanese Patent Laid-Open No. 5-119276 has three fixing portions for fixing the optical box to the mounting plate, and is formed in a unit shape by minimizing distortion when fixing the optical box. However, the positional relationship between the various optical components in the optical box is prevented from being out of order, but this sometimes causes problems.
[0007]
In other words, if the weight is heavy because there are many various optical components arranged in the optical box, it can be bent by fixing the optical box in three places as described above, or against external vibration. In some cases, sufficient strength could not be obtained.
Therefore, in such a case, the optical box needs to be made of aluminum die cast in order to increase the rigidity, which increases the weight of the product and increases the cost. .
[0008]
In the above apparatus, an adjustment screw is used for a mechanism for adjusting the height of the seating surface of the optical box. However, the adjustment is performed so that the screw can be repeatedly and stably adjusted in such a portion. In the case of using a working screw, the screw is usually a metal screw and is insert-molded into a resin material. However, in such a case, there has been a case where the metal screw has become an obstacle in recycling of resin, which has been active in recent years.
That said, each time the metal screw was manually separated from the resin material, it would be very time consuming and the efficiency would be reduced.
[0009]
On the other hand, in the case of the apparatus described in JP-A-8-11348, the optical box is mounted on a flat surface, so that a large optical box may be fixed by three or more fixing portions. The optical box that constitutes the optical unit can be mounted without distortion, but it is necessary to form the plate slightly larger than the optical box and finish it to the required high accuracy as an adjustment member. However, there is a problem that it becomes expensive and expensive.
[0010]
The present invention has been made in view of the above problems, and even if the optical box containing the optical component is large, it impairs the original optical performance in a state where it is attached to the apparatus body. An object of the present invention is to provide a laser scanning device that can adjust the inclination of the scanning line without any adverse effects on external vibration.
[0011]
[Means for Solving the Problems]
In order to achieve the above object, the present invention forms a laser beam emitting means for emitting a laser beam, a laser beam deflecting means using a rotating polygon mirror, and an image of the laser beam emitted by the laser emitting means on the laser beam deflecting means. A first optical means; a second optical means for forming an image of the laser beam deflected by the laser beam deflecting means on a predetermined image plane; With imaging lens Is held and fixed at predetermined positions in the optical box to constitute a laser beam operation unit, and a laser scanning device configured to fix the optical box to a receiving base is constituted as follows.
[0012]
That is, the laser scanning device is connected to the optical box Has an opening transverse to the main scanning direction at the approximate center of the optical box, and the laser beam deflecting means and the imaging lens are arranged separately on the left and right of the optical box with the opening being separated, and the laser beam deflection. Means and an image forming lens are respectively attached to the portions integrated with the side wall surface of the optical box. Cradle Corresponding to the laser beam deflecting means of the fixing part fixed to A fixed portion height adjusting means for adjusting the height of the fixed portion from the mounting seat surface of the cradle is provided at one place, and the fixed portion height adjusting means is provided. Other than the place Fix each other fixing part directly to the cradle. The optical box itself is deformed by the adjustment of the fixing part height adjusting means, and the inclination of the laser beam is adjusted. Configure as follows.
[0013]
And the fixed part height adjustment means is a wedge-shaped spacer member, and the spacer member is preferably slidable along a guide surface formed on either the optical box or the cradle.
Further, the optical box is formed by dividing the upper and lower chambers into two upper and lower chambers, and the upper and lower chambers penetrate through an opening formed substantially in the center of the optical box. When the beam deflecting means is provided and the first optical means is provided, and the height of the fixed portion is provided on the fixed portion close to the laser beam deflecting means so that the height of the fixed portion can be adjusted. Good.
The optical box and the spacer member may be formed of the same material as the cradle.
[0014]
Further, the fixing portion is provided at substantially four corners of the optical box, and the optical box is formed with a groove or protrusion formed in a predetermined range to engage with the protrusion or groove formed on the pedestal. Adjust the fixed part height adjusting means to the maximum height position within the adjustment range so that the fixed part is at the highest position from the mounting seat surface of the cradle. In this case, the groove or protrusion on the optical box side may be a fixed portion at a position where the groove or protrusion on the cradle side continues to wrap on the protrusion or groove on the receiving side.
The cradle for fixing each laser scanning device is preferably made of a thermoplastic synthetic resin.

【The invention's effect】
As described above, according to the present invention, the following effects can be obtained.
According to the laser scanning device of the first aspect, by deforming the optical box by the fixed portion height adjusting means, it is possible to easily adjust the inclination of the scanning line to a desired inclination without impairing the original optical performance. it can. Therefore, the inclination of the scanning line can be adjusted without using expensive parts or increasing the weight of the product. Moreover, it is not adversely affected by external vibration.
[0046]
According to the laser scanning device of the second aspect, since the fixed portion height adjusting means is a wedge-shaped spacer member, fine adjustment can be performed even with relatively rough dimensional accuracy.
[0047]
According to the laser scanning device of the third aspect, the entire device can be reduced in size by the optical layout in which the optical path of the reflected beam is laminated with a slight angle difference from the horizontal optical axis. Further, the opening formed substantially at the center prevents the local deformation of the optical box by the fixed portion height adjusting means from being influenced far away from the operation position of the fixed portion height adjusting means. Therefore, it is possible to easily adjust the inclination of the scanning line.
Since the height of the fixed portion of the optical box close to the laser beam deflecting means is adjusted by the height of the fixed portion, the adjustment does not change the height of the laser emitting means side. It becomes like this.
[0048]
According to the laser scanning device of the fourth aspect, since the optical box and the spacer member are made of the same material as that of the main body structure, they all have the same thermal expansion coefficient. Even if the in-machine temperature of the apparatus rises, distortion due to thermal deformation accompanying the temperature change is difficult to occur.
[0049]
According to the laser scanning device of the fifth aspect, since dust prevention in the optical box is performed by wrapping the ridge and the groove, the amount of wrap between the ridge and the groove changes by adjustment of the fixing portion height adjusting means. Even so, the dust resistance of the optical box can be maintained. Therefore, since it is not necessary to perform a dustproof seal or the like, the configuration can be simplified and it can be manufactured at a low cost.
[0050]
According to the cradle for fixing the laser scanning device according to
