These odd-numbered and even-numbered field signals are interlaced scanned to form an image of one frame, and this image is displayed on the monitor as a moving image or a still image. In the endoscope apparatus, a freeze switch is arranged in the operation unit, and when the freeze switch is pressed, a still image at that time is formed and displayed.
[0007]
[Problems to be solved by the invention]
However, in the above-described simultaneous electronic endoscope apparatus, as shown in FIG. 7C, 1/60 second is generated between the odd field image and the even field image for forming one frame image. There is a problem that the image quality (resolution, color misalignment, etc.) of a still image is deteriorated particularly when there is a shake of the endoscope itself or a movement of the object to be observed during this time.
[0008]
Therefore, the applicant has set a predetermined light shielding period, and has adopted an all pixel reading method that reads data of all pixels obtained by one exposure using this light shielding period. For example, there is a problem that the exposure amount during a period for which all pixels are read out is insufficient due to a delay in mechanical (gear, etc.) response of the light shielding plate to be set. That is, since a complete light-shielding state is required in the light-shielding period for data reading, the light-shielding plate is operated slightly before the light-shielding period in consideration of the response time. Insufficient light quantity occurs during the operation until light shielding.
[0009]
In particular, when the charge accumulation time in the
[0010]
The present invention has been made in view of the above problems, and an object of the present invention is to provide a light-shielding period to form a high-quality image and to have an electronic shutter function. An object of the present invention is to provide an electronic endoscope apparatus that can satisfactorily compensate for the shortage of light.
[0011]
[Means for Solving the Problems]
In order to achieve the above object, the present invention provides an image pickup device output pixel mixed readout method in which image signals accumulated in an image pickup device are mixed and output between upper and lower lines to form a moving image, and a single exposure. reading the signals of all pixels stored in the image pickup device, an electronic endoscope apparatus having a reading all pixels which form a still image, to read all the pixel signals when selecting the all-pixel reading scheme A light shielding means for performing light shielding with a period next to the exposure period as a light shielding period, and taking into account a response delay time of the light shielding operation, and an accumulation time of charges accumulated in the image sensor. An electronic shutter circuit that is controlled as a shutter time, and an insufficient light amount due to partial light shielding at the end of the exposure period by the light shielding means for the image signal output from the image pickup device by the electronic shutter circuit. And an amplifier for amplifying with a gain corresponding to the set shutter time.
[0012]
Next, the operation when the above-described all-pixel readout method is executed only for still image formation will be described. This still image processing is started by operating the freeze switch, for example, accumulated by exposure (exposure time is set by the electronic shutter function) within a predetermined (first) 1/60 second period (vertical synchronization period). In the second period (1/60 sec), the odd lines of the image sensor (CCD) are read (read from the transfer line), and the remaining even lines in the third period (during the next exposure). Are read and these data are stored in a predetermined memory. The light source light in the second period is shielded by the light shielding means so that the even lines can be read.
[0013]
That is, if the charge of the next exposure is accumulated as in the prior art in the second period for reading out the accumulated charges in the odd lines, the remaining even lines cannot be read out. Therefore, the accumulated charge of the even lines is read out in the third period, with the second period as the light shielding period. Thereby, the signal for all the pixels of the image sensor obtained by one exposure can be read out.
[0014]
Next, the odd line and even line video signals stored in the memory are phase-matched, and then a pixel mixing process is performed between the odd line and the even line by the mixing circuit. That is, as a result, this pixel mixing process forms a signal equivalent to the pixel mixing readout method at the time of image sensor output performed at the time of signal output from the image sensor, but the pixel based on the data obtained by one exposure. This is different from the above-described pixel mixture readout method at the time of image sensor output in that mixing is performed.
[0015]
Then, odd and even field signals are formed by this pixel mixed signal, and a still image is displayed based on these video signals. Therefore, the still image becomes an image based on the signals of all the pixels obtained by one exposure and has high image quality.
On the other hand, at the normal time when the freeze switch is not pressed, the pixel mixture readout method at the time of image pickup device output is selected, and when output from the image pickup device as in the conventional case, the pixels of the two horizontal lines are mixed and read out. Therefore, in the case of a moving image, it is possible to obtain an image obtained by capturing images over time and reproducing the movement of the subject faithfully.
[0016]
However, in the above-described light shielding operation for still images, as described above, for example, when the light shielding is insufficient due to the mechanical response delay of the light shielding plate, and the electronic shutter function is activated. As the shutter time becomes shorter, the shortage of light has a greater effect, and a still image with unstable brightness is formed.
[0017]
Therefore, in the present invention, the amount corresponding to the shortage of light amount is amplified for the image signal output from the image sensor using an amplifier, and the gain corresponding to the shutter time, that is, the gain increases as the shutter time decreases. Amplify the signal. According to this, an appropriate amount of light is ensured, and a still image with stable brightness is displayed.

Here, the accumulated charge in the rising period of the pulse is swept out, and the accumulated charge in the non-rising period is read, and this period is the electronic shutter time. It becomes. Therefore, the above-mentioned still image data (accumulated charge) is obtained by exposure g1 with a shutter time of, for example, 1/100 second after the charge is swept out. 18 is read. Further, sweeping is omitted in the light shielding period (t1 to t2) after the exposure g1.
[0037]
By the way, it is necessary to prevent unnecessary charges from being accumulated in the
[0038]
The ratio of the shortage of light amount varies depending on the electronic shutter time. For example, assuming that the shutter time tb is 1/60 seconds, the amount of light per unit time, that is, the signal height C in FIG. 4D is 4 V, and the response delay time ta is 2 mS (sec), the moving
tb × C = 1/60 [mS] × 4 [V] ≈66.67 [mVS]
The charge amount of the still image data is obtained by regarding the decay curve of the response period ta as a straight line.
Therefore, the luminance of the still image is 94% [6% deficiency (decrease)] of the luminance of the moving image.
[0039]
In addition, when the shutter time tb is 1/100 second, the charge amount of the moving image data is
tb × C = 1/100 [mS] × 4 [V] = 40 [mVS]
The charge amount of still image data is
Therefore, the brightness of the still image is 90% (10% shortage) of the brightness of the moving image.
Similarly, when the shutter time tb is 1/100 second, the charge amount of moving image data is 20 [mVS], the charge amount of still image data is 16 [mVS], and the luminance of the still image is 80 of the luminance of the moving image. % (20% shortage), and the shorter the shutter time, the greater the amount of decrease in luminance.
[0040]
Therefore, in this example, the

FIG. 5F shows an operation when the exposure g2 is imaged with a shutter time of 1/200 sec. In this case, as shown in FIG. 5G, Y = 1. Amplify a still image signal (voltage) with a gain of 25 times. As a result, it becomes possible to compensate for the light amount La by increasing the shortage of 20% described above.

【The invention's effect】
As described above, according to the present invention , a moving image is formed by the pixel mixture readout method at the time of image sensor output, and a still image is formed by the all pixel readout method using the light shielding means , and is stored in the image sensor. In the electronic endoscope that controls the accumulation time of the electric charge by the electronic shutter function, the amount corresponding to the light quantity shortage accompanying the response delay of the light shielding operation by the light shielding means is amplified according to the electronic shutter time. An endoscope that forms a high-quality image by the all-pixel readout method has an advantage that an insufficient light amount caused by the light-shielding operation can be compensated well, and an image with stable brightness can be formed.
[0047]
Further, to obtain a stable high-quality still image Brightness of, whereas for moving the advantage that smooth images faithfully reproduce the movements can be formed.
