本発明は、高重合度ポリエチレングリコールを含有して成る、睫を濃く長く見せる効果に優れるマスカラ組成物に関する。

【従来の技術】
マスカラは、睫を長く美しく見せるために用いられているメイクアップ化粧料の一種である。マスカラは目的に応じて、睫をカールする力の強いカールタイプ，睫を長く見せる効果の高いロングラッシュタイプ，睫のボリュームを向上させるボリュームタイプなどに分類される。睫の長さ，太さ，粗密の度合い，上を向いて生えているか下を向いて生えているか等の条件が人によりかなり異なるため、目的に応じてこれらのタイプのマスカラが別々に市販されている。これらのタイプの中でも、ボリュームタイプ及びロングラッシュタイプのマスカラは、睫の生え方が粗で短い人が多い日本人に一般的に好まれて使用されている。

このようなボリュームタイプのマスカラでは、ボリュームを付与するためには一般的に、ワックスや脂肪酸，脂肪酸塩が用いられる。例えば、特開平６−９４３１号公報ではワックス粒子の水性分散物と少なくとも１種の水溶性皮膜形成性ポリマーと顔料とを含有して成るメーキャップ組成物が、特開平５−１９４１４８号公報では炭化水素ワックスと水溶性ポリマーを含有する睫及び（又は）眉のメイクアップ及び手入れのための組成物及びその製造方法がそれぞれ開示されている。

また、睫を長く見せるためには、ナイロン等の短い繊維がしばしば用いられる。しかしながらナイロンなどの短い繊維をマスカラ組成物に配合した場合、繊維が睫からとれて目の中に入りやすく、特にコンタクトレンズ使用時には、目やレンズに傷が付くなどの問題点があった。

さらに、睫のボリュームを向上させ、かつ長く見せるタイプのマスカラ組成物は得られていない。

【発明が解決しようとする課題】
そこで本発明においては、睫にボリュームを付与し、かつ長く見せる効果に優れたマスカラ組成物を得ることを目的とした。

【課題を解決するための手段】
本発明者等は上記課題を解決するため鋭意研究の結果、高重合度ポリエチレングリコールをマスカラ組成物に含有させることにより、睫にボリュームを付与し、かつ長く見せる効果に優れるマスカラ組成物を得ることができることを見いだし、本発明を完成した。

【発明の実施の形態】
本発明で用いられる高重合度ポリエチレングリコールは、増粘効果を有する水溶性高分子であり、増粘剤，顔料分散剤として用いられている。かかる高重合度ポリエチレングリコールの化粧料への応用としては、ヒアルロン酸塩と併用した安定性，保湿性に優れた化粧料（特開昭６３−１５６８３８号公報），糖アルキルと併用したシャンプー組成物（特開平５−４３４３４号公報），高重合度ポリエチレングリコールを泡特性改善剤として含有する整髪料組成物（特開平６−９３４４号公報），架橋型アクリル酸ポリマーと併用した水性ゲル組成物（ヨーロッパ特許９４−４００７６０），ベタインと併用した毛髪化粧料（特開平７−６９８４０号公報），アミン若しくはアミド型界面活性剤と併用した洗浄料（特開平８−１５７３４９号公報），界面活性剤，カチオンポリマーと併用したコンディショニングシャンプー組成物（特開平９−１７５９５２号公報）等が開示されている。しかしながら、高重合度ポリエチレングリコールが睫にボリュームを付与し、かつ長く見せる効果を有することは知られていなかった。

本発明で用いられる高重合度ポリエチレングリコールは、分子量９５０以上のポリエチレングリコールであり、ボリューム感の点から分子量１００００以上のポリエチレングリコールが好ましく用いられる。かかる高重合度ポリエチレングリコールとしては、市販のＰｏｌｙｏｘＷＳＲＮ−１０，Ｎ−３０（分子量１万〜５００万：以上ＵｎｉｏｎＣａｒｂｉｄｅ社製），ＰＥＧ−１０００〜ＰＥＧ−２００００（分子量９５０〜２５０００：以上三洋化成工業社製）等を使用することができる。高重合度ポリエチレングリコールはマスカラ組成物に、０．０１〜５重量％配合することができる。
