本発明は、無人搬送車の充電システムに関し、特に、閉ループを構成する搬送路上を周回走行する無人搬送車に対して周期的に充電を行う給電器を割り当てるための無人搬送車の充電システムに関するものである。

閉ループを構成する搬送路上を周回走行し、制御装置により指定されたステーションにおいて荷積み及び荷降ろしをしながら搬送作業を行う自走式の無人搬送車の場合、走行並びに荷積み及び荷降ろしのための動力を得るためにバッテリを搭載するようにしている。
この場合、一般的には、必要とされる搬送能力に合わせて、複数台の無人搬送車を同時に搬送路上で走行させることができるようにし、搬送路を1回又は所定回数周回する毎にバッテリに充電を行うことにより、継続して搬送作業を行うことができるようにしている。

また、▲3▼の給電方式は、搬送路2上を走行する無人搬送車1の台数が多くなっても一応は対応することができるものであるが、無人搬送車1に対して充電を行うために割り当てられた給電器4の配設位置と、無人搬送車1が荷積み又は荷降ろしを行うことを指定されたステーションA1,A2とが一致することとなった場合には、荷積み又は荷降ろしを優先して行うようにすると、無人搬送車1が充電を受けることができなくなり、バッテリ切れを起こすおそれがあり、このため、無人搬送車1への充電を優先して行う必要があり、これによって、搬送効率が低下するという問題があった。
また、▲1▼〜▲3▼のいずれの給電方式においても、給電器4が1台でも故障すると、無人搬送車1への充電に支障を来し、搬送効率が低下したり、搬送作業自体を行うことができなくなるという問題があった。
