Description
【0001】

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
The present invention relates to an exhaust system structure of an internal combustion engine, and in particular, a stiffener, one of which is fixed to a clutch housing of the internal combustion engine and the other is fixed to a catalyst, is provided with a convex portion so as to relieve thermal stress acting on the exhaust manifold. At the same time, this convex part is projected between the catalyst and the harness, and when the stiffener is fixed, the convex part is positioned between the catalyst and the harness, and the convex part functions as a heat shield wall, and the harness is exposed to the high temperature from the catalyst. The present invention relates to an exhaust system structure of an internal combustion engine that can prevent this.
[0002]
[Prior art]
As an internal combustion engine of a vehicle, there are an internal combustion engine in which cylinders are arranged in series, an internal combustion engine in which cylinders are arranged to face each other, or a V-type internal combustion engine in which each cylinder bank is arranged in a V shape.
[0003]
In this V-type internal combustion engine, first and second cylinder heads are respectively mounted on first and second cylinder banks of a cylinder block, and a bearing that supports a crankshaft in cooperation with the cylinder block is provided below the cylinder block. Some are configured with a cap attached.
[0004]
An exhaust system structure of the internal combustion engine is disclosed in Japanese Utility Model Publication No. 63-7048. In the heat insulating device for a vehicle wiring member disclosed in this publication, an exhaust manifold is attached to an engine mounted on a vehicle, and an exhaust pipe connected to the manifold and extending downward is connected to a muffler near the step. A heat insulating cover that covers the downward extension of the exhaust pipe from the inner side is attached to the vehicle body side, and the wiring member wired in the front-rear direction of the vehicle is wired on the inner side of the heat insulating cover. A rod-like fixture is attached to the vehicle body side with a further inward separation, and a sheath-like wiring presser having elasticity is fitted into the mounting portion, and the wiring member is pressed on the inner side of the wiring presser. .
[0005]
Further, there is one disclosed in Japanese Utility Model Publication No. 63-168210. The exhaust system structure of the engine disclosed in this publication is an engine exhaust system in which two catalytic converters are arranged side by side, and a thermosensor is attached to each inner side of the catalytic converter, and wiring of the thermosensor is collectively. The position of the thermosensor to the catalytic converter is point-symmetric at one point on the center line between the two catalytic converters.
[0006]
[Problems to be solved by the invention]
Incidentally, in the exhaust system structure of a conventional internal combustion engine, for example, a so-called V6 type internal combustion engine in which 6 cylinders are arranged in a V shape, as shown in FIG. 6, the left and right first and second exhaust manifolds 114-1 are arranged. , 114-2, the first and second catalysts 118-1 and 118-2 are disposed on the downstream side, respectively, and the first and second catalysts 118-1 and 118-2 and the first and second exhaust manifolds are disposed. Upstream-side first and second exhaust sensors (also referred to as “upstream-side first and second O2 sensors”) 120-1 and 120-2 are disposed only between 114-1 and 114-2, respectively.
[0007]
That is, since the exhaust gas regulations have been relatively relaxed in the past, even if a small catalyst is used, it can be easily cleared, and the downstream first and second exhaust sensors ("downstream first") located downstream from the catalyst. It was not necessary to provide a "first O2 sensor".
[0008]
In the exhaust system structure of the in-line four-cylinder internal combustion engine, as shown in FIG. 7, the
[0009]
However, in the exhaust system structure of the V6 type internal combustion engine, large capacity first and second catalysts are respectively arranged immediately downstream of the left and right first and second manifolds in order to satisfy the strict exhaust gas regulations. When installing, it is necessary to arrange a stiffener for fixing the first and second catalysts and the first and second exhaust sensors on the downstream side (see FIG. 4).
[0010]
At this time, the wiring of the downstream first and second exhaust sensor harnesses is performed along the clutch housing of the internal combustion engine (see FIG. 3).
[0011]
In a vehicle equipped with the V6 type internal combustion engine, when a large-capacity catalyst is mounted, it is necessary to bring the catalyst close to the internal combustion engine in view of the layout. As described above, for the downstream side first and second exhaust sensors. If the harness was routed along the clutch housing, the harness would be exposed to high temperatures from the catalyst, and improvements were desired.
[0012]
[Means for Solving the Problems]
Accordingly, in order to eliminate the above-mentioned disadvantages, the present invention provides a clutch housing in which an exhaust manifold is connected to a cylinder head of an internal combustion engine, and a catalyst provided directly below the exhaust manifold is connected to the internal combustion engine. In the exhaust system structure of the internal combustion engine, the exhaust sensor harness provided on the downstream side of the catalyst is routed along the clutch housing facing the catalyst. Is provided with a stiffener fixed to the clutch housing of the internal combustion engine and the other fixed to the catalyst. The stiffener is provided with a convex portion so as to relieve the thermal stress acting on the exhaust manifold. It protruded between the said catalyst and the said harness, It is characterized by the above-mentioned.
[0013]
DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION
By inventing as described above, when fixing the stiffener, one of which is fixed to the clutch housing of the internal combustion engine and the other is fixed to the catalyst, the convex portion protrudes between the catalyst and the harness, and the thermal stress acting on the exhaust manifold is increased. The convex portion provided so as to relax functions as a heat blocking wall, and effectively prevents the harness from being exposed to the high temperature from the catalyst.

【The invention's effect】
As described above in detail, according to the present invention, the exhaust manifold is connected to the cylinder head of the internal combustion engine, and the catalyst provided immediately below the exhaust manifold is disposed in the circumferential direction of the clutch housing whose axis is connected to the internal combustion engine. An exhaust system structure for an internal combustion engine in which an exhaust sensor harness provided on the downstream side of the catalyst is routed along the clutch housing facing the catalyst, one of which is a clutch housing of the internal combustion engine The stiffener is fixed to the catalyst and the other is fixed to the catalyst. The stiffener is provided with a protrusion so as to relieve the thermal stress acting on the exhaust manifold, and the protrusion protrudes between the catalyst and the harness. Therefore, when the stiffener is fixed, the convex part is located between the catalyst and the harness, and the convex part functions as a heat shield wall. Can be effectively prevented from being exposed to high temperatures from the catalyst, the thermal stress acting on the exhaust manifold can be relieved by the shape of the stiffener, and contributes to increased rigidity in the original exhaust system mounting structure of the stiffener This is practically advantageous.
