BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
The present invention relates to a sample transport system, and more particularly, a sample transport system including a plurality of rack transport units for transporting a sample rack holding a sample so as to selectively stop at any of a plurality of sample processing units. About.
[0002]
[Prior art]
Specimens such as blood and urine that require clinical examination are processed by centrifugation, opening the lid of the specimen container, and dispensing from the parent specimen container to the child specimen container, and the specimen container is held in the specimen rack. In this state, it is transported to various analyzers that perform biochemical tests, immunological tests, and the like via a rack transport unit. A system configuration device configured to perform such sample processing under the control of a computer is referred to as a sample transport system. In this case, a device that performs processing such as centrifugation, opening, dispensing, and analysis is a sample processing unit.
[0003]
An example of a conventional sample transport system is described in, for example, JP-A-9-43246. In this example, a transport line that transports a sample rack that has passed through one sample processing unit in one direction, and another transport line that transports the sample rack in a direction perpendicular to the one direction toward another sample processing unit, In the figure, there is shown a configuration in which a turntable on which only one sample rack can be placed is provided, and the sample rack is changed from one direction to a right angle direction by rotation of the turntable.
[0004]
Japanese Laid-Open Patent Publication No. 7-167866 discloses a sample transport device in which a rack branching device is provided at a position corresponding to the intersection of three transport lines, and this rack branching device is constituted by a turntable on which one sample rack is placed. Show. In the rack branching apparatus in this example, when a sample rack that has been transported by one main transport line arrives, the branching direction is commanded by the control device, and the rotating table is rotated in accordance with the branching direction with respect to the sample rack. The sample rack can be directed toward one of the analyzers by the transport line after branching.
[0005]
[Problems to be solved by the invention]
In the sample transport system, the sample rack is used for the case where the sample processing by the sample processing unit (for example, the unplugging process) is unsuccessful or when the sample rack for which the sample processing has been completed is collected in a predetermined storage unit. In addition to the main transport line that transports in a predetermined direction, if a reverse feed line that functions as a feedback line that can transport the sample rack in a direction opposite to the predetermined direction is provided, a large number of sample racks can be processed. Can be performed efficiently.
[0006]
However, in each of the conventional techniques described in Japanese Patent Laid-Open No. 9-43246 and Japanese Patent Laid-Open No. 7-167866, the turntable or the turntable is arranged between the transport lines so that the sample rack advances in one direction. Since it only serves to deliver one sample rack, at least two units are required if a rotation mechanism as in the prior art is to be provided between rack transport units having a main transport line and a reverse transport line. The rotation mechanism is required, and not only the connection configuration between the lines becomes complicated, but also the structure becomes large. Further, according to the prior art, it is difficult to carry out rack transportation with excellent usability such as changing the order of arrival at the sample processing unit during the transportation of a plurality of sample racks.
[0007]
An object of the present invention is to allow a sample rack to be delivered between a plurality of rack transport units by a single transport direction changing mechanism even when a rack transport unit having a main transport line and a reverse transport line is used. An object of the present invention is to provide a sample transport system that can avoid an increase in the length of the transport system.
[0008]
Another object of the present invention is to provide a sample transport system that can easily change the order of the sample racks that reach the sample processing unit during the transport operation.
[0009]
[Means for Solving the Problems]
The present invention comprises a transport direction changing mechanism capable of changing a delivery direction with respect to a sample rack receiving direction between one rack transport unit capable of transporting a sample rack holding a sample and the other rack transport unit, This is applied to a sample transport system that transports a sample rack from one of the plurality of rack transport units to the other or vice versa via the transport direction changing mechanism, and one and the other rack transport unit transport the sample rack in a predetermined direction. A main transport line and a reverse feed line capable of transporting the sample rack in a direction opposite to the predetermined direction, and a line between the main transport line and the reverse feed line in the one and the other rack transport unit. The distance between the one and the other transport units at the end facing the transport direction changing mechanism is the same and is a constant distance. There. The transport direction changing mechanism includes a rotating portion having first and second rack passages that are parallel to each other, and the first and second rack passages are arranged at an equal distance from the rotation center of the rotating portion. The distance between the first and second rack passages is the same constant distance as the interline distance.
[0010]
In a preferred embodiment of the present invention, after the normal sample rack transported by the main transport line of one of the plurality of rack transport units is moved to the first rack path of the rotating unit, the rotating unit is moved. By rotating, the second rack passage is positioned so as to correspond to the main transport line of the one rack transport unit, and after the normal sample rack, a specific transport transported by the main transport line of the one rack transport unit is performed. The sample rack is moved to the second rack passage in which the rotating unit is vacant, and the specific sample on the second rack passage is moved ahead of the normal sample rack held on the first rack passage of the rotating unit. The rack is configured to move to the main transport line of the other rack transport unit.

According to the embodiment described above, even if a specific sample rack that holds a sample that requires preferential processing is interrupted and inserted, the sample rack for the normal sample that has already been transported in advance is changed in the transport direction. Since it can be overtaken by the mechanism, it becomes easy to quickly process a sample with high priority by the sample processing unit. In this way, the order of the sample racks that should reach the sample processing unit can be easily changed during the transportation.
[0033]
In addition, for the sample rack once delivered from the specific sample processing unit to the rack transport unit and transported by the reverse feed line (or main transport line), the same specific sample processing unit again performs sample processing (for example, unplugging) The main transport line (or reverse feed line) of the rack transport unit to which the sample rack has been sent for re-opening when there is a failure, or retesting of the sample when the test result is bad, etc. ), The sample rack can be transported so as to be returned immediately by the transport direction changing mechanism.

【The invention's effect】
According to the present invention, even when a rack transport unit having a main transport line and a reverse transport line is used, a sample rack can be delivered between a plurality of rack transport units by a single transport direction changing mechanism. An increase in the length of the transport system can be avoided.
