Description

【0001】

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION 1. Field of the Invention The present invention relates to a paper feeding device suitable for a printer or the like, and in particular, cut sheets or envelopes of paper stacked in an inclined state, such as plain paper, coated paper, OHP (overhead projector) sheets, glossy paper, glossy film, etc. The present invention relates to a sheet feeding device that feeds the sheets one by one from the uppermost position.
[0002]
[Prior art]
Conventionally, in this type of paper feeding device, a plurality of paper sheets to be fed by a paper feeding roller are stacked on a hopper in an inclined state, and the hopper is directed toward the paper feeding roller that rotates during a paper feeding operation. The tip vicinity of the front side is pressed against. A front end support surface on which the paper stacked in an inclined state on the hopper is supported by contacting the front end thereof is provided in proximity to the front of the hopper. A paper support is provided behind the hopper, and the paper support supports the rear side of the paper. Usually, the paper support surface of the paper support and the paper support surface of the hopper are formed on the same surface so as to hold the paper flat. In addition, a separation pad that is biased toward the paper feed roller is provided, and the paper to be fed by the paper feed roller by conveying the paper with pressure between the separation pad and the paper feed roller. The paper is separated from the next paper.
[0003]
As another prior art document, JP-A-10-152231 is cited. In the paper feeding device disclosed in this document, when the whole paper is supported in an inclined state, if the paper is slippery (for example, an OHP sheet), it is easy to slide down due to its own weight. In view of the phenomenon that an avalanche phenomenon is likely to occur, and as a result, a plurality of sheets of paper are very likely to enter the pinching portion between the sheet feeding roller and the separation pad, and the separation performance of the sheet is lowered. The paper support surface of the paper support located at the rear part is formed so as to be substantially horizontal, and the horizontal part supports the rear side of the paper so that most of the weight of the paper is supported by the paper support part. This is to prevent the phenomenon.
[0004]
[Problems to be solved by the invention]
However, as in the former prior art, sheets are stacked on the hopper in an inclined state, and the sheet is formed so that the leading end of the sheet is held in contact with the leading end support surface. In the conventional paper feeding device in which the paper support surface of the paper and the paper support surface of the hopper are formed on the same surface that are flat with each other, the following problems may occur depending on the state of the front end of the paper.
[0005]
During the paper feeding operation, the hopper is instantaneously pushed up by the elastic force of the hopper spring in the compressed state, and thereby operates to press the vicinity of the leading end of the paper in the stacked state against the rotating paper feeding roller. At that time, if the leading edge of the paper is curled, for example, in the upward warping direction, that is, if the leading edge of the paper is curved so as to protrude downward (separation pad side), the leading edges of the stacked sheets are uneven. In this state or in a state where the unevenness is amplified, the sheet feeding roller is contacted. If the leading edge of the sheet is in contact with the sheet feeding roller, the uppermost sheet is reliably separated from the next sheet by the nipping conveyance between the rotating sheet feeding roller and the separation pad. However, if the leading edge of the paper is in contact with the paper feed roller in an irregular state as described above, the separation by the separation pad becomes uncertain, and there is a problem that two or more sheets of paper are fed. It was.
[0006]
In the latter prior art document, it is disclosed that the paper support has a substantially horizontal structure in order to achieve the technical problem of preventing the avalanche phenomenon due to the weight of the paper held obliquely. That is the limit. If the leading edge of the paper is curled, for example, in the upward warping direction, the leading edge of the stacked sheets will be in an irregular state and will contact the paper feed roller, and the separation of the paper by the separation pad will be uncertain. The technical problem is not considered at all, and there is no description suggesting it.
[0007]
An object of the present invention is to be able to press contact with a paper feeding roller that rotates in a state where the front end of the paper does not become uneven even if there is some deformation such as upward curl at the front end of the paper held in an inclined state by the hopper. Thus, it is an object of the present invention to provide a paper feeding device capable of maintaining high paper separation by the separation pad.
[0008]
[Means for Solving the Problems]
In order to achieve the above object, according to the first aspect of the present invention, a sheet feeding roller that rotates during sheet feeding operation and a plurality of sheets to be fed by the sheet feeding roller are stacked in an inclined state. A hopper that presses the vicinity of the front end of the paper toward the paper feed roller that rotates during paper operation, and the inclined paper that is provided near the front of the hopper and stacked on the hopper. A front end support surface supported by contacting the front end thereof, a paper support provided behind the hopper and supporting the rear side of the paper, and the paper supply roller urged toward the paper supply roller In the paper feeding device provided with a separation pad for separating the paper to be fed by the paper feeding roller from the next paper by pinching the paper with the paper support surface of the paper support and the paper of the hopper Support Relationship with is a forcing to abut against the front end supporting surface tip of the paper facing down without camber is characterized in that it is formed so as to exert against the paper.
[0009]
According to the present invention, the relationship between the paper support surface of the paper support and the paper support surface of the hopper is such that the forcing force that causes the front end of the paper to contact the front end support surface in a downward state without warping is applied to the paper. Therefore, even if there is a slight deformation such as an upward curl at the front end of the paper held in an inclined state, the front end of the paper is brought into a downward state by the forcing force and is brought into contact with the front support surface. be able to. As a result, the leading edge of the sheet can be brought into contact with the sheet feeding roller in an aligned state, so that the uppermost sheet is moved to the next position by the nipping conveyance between the rotating sheet feeding roller and the separation pad. It can be reliably separated from the paper.
[0010]
Further, since the leading edge of the sheet is in contact with the leading edge support surface in the downward state, the preliminary separation is achieved by sliding the leading edge of the individual sheet in the downward state when the separation pad is pushed up. Since the action occurs, the paper separation property is further improved.
[0011]
The invention according to claim 2 is the paper feeding device according to claim 1, wherein the relationship between the paper support surface of the paper support and the paper support surface of the hopper is such that the paper support surface of the paper support is the hopper. It is characterized by being slanted and slanted from the paper support surface. In this way, by laying the paper support surface of the paper support from the paper support surface of the hopper and inclining it, the entire paper is supported in a lightly curved state so that the front end side of the paper is convex upward. The structure is simple and the front end of the paper can be brought into contact with the front end support surface in a downward state.
[0012]
The invention according to claim 3 is the paper feeding device according to claim 1, wherein the relationship between the paper support surface of the paper support and the paper support surface of the hopper is such that the paper support surface of the paper support is concave. The sheet is formed in a curved surface, and is configured so as to have a shallow S-shape as a whole. Thus, since the paper support is formed in a concave curved surface so that the paper has a shallow S shape as a whole, the front end of the paper can be brought into contact with the front end support surface in a downward state, and the concave Due to the curved structure, an increase in the projected area of the paper support portion can be suppressed, and an increase in the depth direction of the entire apparatus can be prevented.
[0013]
According to a fourth aspect of the present invention, in the paper feeding device according to any one of the first to third aspects, the forcing force is applied by biasing the vicinity of the leading edge of the paper toward the paper support surface of the hopper. An urging member for assisting is provided. By this urging member, the leading edge of the paper can be brought into contact with the leading edge support surface in a more reliable downward state, and the paper separation property can be further improved.
[0014]
DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION
Hereinafter, embodiments of the present invention will be described with reference to the drawings. FIG. 1 is a longitudinal sectional view of a sheet feeding device according to an embodiment of the present invention, FIG. 2 is a longitudinal sectional view of a sheet setting state of the sheet feeding device, and FIG. 3 is a separation pad in the sheet feeding device. FIG. 4 is an enlarged cross-sectional view of a main part in a state where is pushed up and the leading end of the paper is pressed against the paper feed roller, and FIG. 4 is an enlarged cross-sectional view of the main part showing a state immediately after the feeding of the uppermost paper.
[0015]
As shown in FIGS. 1 and 2, the sheet feeding device according to the present embodiment stacks a plurality of sheets on the hopper 2 with the sheet P to be fed by the D-shaped sheet feeding roller 1 as viewed from the side. Has been. The hopper 2 is rotated by a hopper spring (not shown) at the leading end 11 with a base end 10 as a fulcrum during a paper feeding operation, and the front side of the paper P is directed toward the paper feeding roller 1 rotating through a paper feeding roller shaft 13. The vicinity of the tip on the part side is pressed. Further, a front end support surface 4 on which the paper P stacked in an inclined state on the hopper 2 is supported by contacting the front end 3 thereof is provided in the vicinity of the front of the hopper 2. A paper support 5 is detachably attached to the frame 12 behind the hopper 2, and the paper support 5 supports the rear side of the paper P.
[0016]
Here, the relationship between the paper support surface 6 of the paper support 5 and the paper support surface 7 of the hopper 2 is such that the front end support surface 4 of the paper P does not warp and faces downward as shown in FIG. Is formed so as to exert a forcing force against the sheet P against the sheet P. In the present embodiment, the paper support surface 6 of the paper support 5 is inclined with respect to the paper support surface 7 of the hopper 2 by an angle θ. In the figure, reference numeral 8 denotes an extension line of the paper support surface 7 of the hopper 2. This angle θ is formed at about 10 degrees in the present embodiment. In order to obtain the effect of laying down the paper support surface 6 of the paper support 5 with certainty, it is desirable to incline the angle θ to 10 degrees or more. Further, the upper limit of the angle θ is desirably suppressed to about 30 to 45 degrees from the viewpoint of preventing an increase in the projected area.
[0017]
As shown in FIG. 2, the rear side of the paper P is supported by the paper support 5 that is laid down and inclined by the angle θ, so that the front end side of the paper, that is, the portion supported by the hopper 2 is convex upward as a whole. The leading edge 3 of the paper P does not warp and contacts the leading edge support surface 4 in a downward state.
[0018]
Further, a separation pad 9 that is opposed to the paper feed roller 1 and is urged toward the paper feed roller 1 by a pad spring (not shown) is provided. The sheet P is conveyed between the separation pad 9 and the sheet feeding roller 1 by pressure, so that the sheet to be fed by the sheet feeding roller 1 is separated from the next sheet. . In the figure, reference numeral 14 denotes an idle roller.
[0019]
Further, in the present embodiment, the forcing force that urges the vicinity of the front end 3 of the paper P toward the paper support surface 7 of the hopper 2 to bring the paper front end 3 into contact with the front end support surface 4 in a downward state. An urging member 15 is provided to assist. In this embodiment, as shown in FIGS. 1 and 2, the urging member 15 is made of a synthetic resin sheet, and its upper end is fixed to a guide 17 attached to the cover 16 of the paper feed roller 1. ing.
[0020]
Next, the operation of the sheet feeding device according to the above embodiment will be described with reference to FIGS. According to the present embodiment, the relationship between the paper support surface 6 of the paper support 5 and the paper support surface 7 of the hopper 2 causes the front end 3 of the paper P to contact the front end support surface 4 in a downward state without warping. Since the forcing force is applied to the paper P, even if the paper leading edge 3 held by the hopper 2 in an inclined state has a slight deformation such as an upward curl, the paper leading edge 3 is caused by the forcing force. 2 can be brought into contact with the tip support surface 4 in a downward state as shown in FIG. Therefore, during the paper feeding operation, when the hopper 2 is pushed up from the state shown in FIG. 2 and presses the vicinity of the front end 3 of the paper against the paper feeding roller 1, that is, when the state shifts to the state shown in FIG. As shown in FIG. 3, the tip 3 can be brought into contact with the sheet feeding roller 1 without being uneven. Then, as shown in FIG. 4, the uppermost sheet P1 can be reliably separated from the next sheet P2 by the nipping conveyance between the rotating sheet feeding roller 1 and the separation pad 9.
[0021]
Further, since the front end 3 of the sheet is in contact with the front end support surface 4 in the downward state, when the separation pad 2 is pushed up, that is, when the state shown in FIG. 2 is shifted to the state shown in FIG. The edge of each individual sheet tip 3, 3,... Slides on the tip support surface 4 to generate a pre-separation action. Therefore, the separation between the sheets P1 and P2 and the like is further improved.
[0022]
In addition, when the paper support surface 6 of the paper support 5 is inclined from the paper support surface 7 of the hopper 2, the whole paper is supported in a lightly curved state so that the front end 3 side of the paper P is convex upward. Therefore, the structure can be simplified and the leading edge of the paper can be easily brought into contact with the leading edge support surface in a downward state.
[0023]
Further, a biasing member 15 for biasing the vicinity of the front end 3 of the paper P toward the paper support surface 7 of the hopper 2 to assist the forcing force on the paper P is provided. Since the leading edge 3 of the sheet can be more reliably brought into contact with the leading edge support surface 4 in the downward state by the urging member 15, the separation property of the sheet P can be further improved.
[0024]
FIG. 5 is a longitudinal sectional view of a paper feeding device according to another embodiment of the present invention, and FIG. 6 is a longitudinal sectional view of the paper feeding device in a paper setting state. In this embodiment, the paper support surface 6 of the paper support 5 and the paper support surface 7 of the hopper 2 are different from the embodiment shown in FIG. The sheet P is formed into a shallow S shape as a whole and is held by the both sheet support surfaces 6 and 7. Here, the degree of shallowness of the S-shape, that is, the degree of depression of the concave curved surface in the paper support surface 6 of the paper support 5 is such that the front end 3 of the paper can contact the front end support surface 4 in the downward state as described above. Is formed. Since other configurations are the same as those shown in FIG. 1, the same reference numerals are given to the same portions, and the description thereof is omitted.
[0025]
According to the present embodiment, since the paper support 5 is formed in a concave curved surface so that the paper P has a shallow S-shape as a whole, the paper tip 3 is brought into contact with the tip support surface 4 in a downward state. In addition, as can be seen from FIG. 5, since the concave curved surface structure is used, an increase in the projected area of the paper support 5 can be suppressed, so that an increase in the depth of the entire apparatus can be prevented. it can.
[0026]
【The invention's effect】
According to the present invention, the relationship between the paper support surface of the paper support and the paper support surface of the hopper is such that the forcing force that causes the front end of the paper to contact the front end support surface in a downward state without warping is applied to the paper. Therefore, even if there is a slight deformation such as an upward curl at the front end of the paper held in an inclined state, the front end of the paper is brought into a downward state by the forcing force and is brought into contact with the front support surface. be able to. Accordingly, since the leading edge of the sheet can be brought into contact with the sheet feeding roller, the uppermost sheet is reliably separated from the next sheet by the nipping conveyance between the sheet feeding roller and the separation pad. Can do.
[0027]
Further, when the paper support is formed in a concave curved surface so that the paper has a shallow S-shape as a whole, an increase in the projected area of the paper support portion can be suppressed due to the concave curved surface structure. The enlargement of the whole depth direction can be prevented.
