Description
【0001】

[Industrial application fields]
The present invention relates to an X-ray generation apparatus that collides electrons emitted from a filament with a target and generates X-rays therefrom.
[0002]
[Prior art]
The X-ray generator as described above is used as an X-ray source for an X-ray diffractometer or other X-ray utilization equipment, and generally has two types, a sealed type and an open type. The sealed type is an X-ray generator of the type in which the filament and the target are sealed in a vacuum state so that they cannot be opened. On the other hand, the open type is an X-ray generator of the type that evacuates around the filament and the target by an evacuation means such as a vacuum pump. The sealed X-ray generator outputs X-rays having a relatively low output, that is, low intensity, while the open X-ray generator is used when high output, that is, high-intensity X-rays are to be output.
[0003]
The open X-ray generator as described above usually includes a casing in which a filament and a target facing the filament are stored in a sealed state, and an exhaust means such as an exhaust pump that exhausts the inside of the casing. Then, in a state where the inside of the casing is evacuated by an exhaust pump or the like, electrons are emitted from the filament, and the emitted electrons collide with the target to emit X-rays from the target. The reason for setting the vacuum inside the casing, that is, around the filament and the target, is as follows: (1) To prevent discharge in the casing, (2) To prevent oxidation of the filament, (3) As low as possible filament For example, electrons can be sufficiently emitted at a temperature.
[0004]
As an exhaust means for exhausting the inside of the casing, there is conventionally known an exhaust means using two turbo molecular pumps and a rotary pump connected in series with each other. In this exhausting means, the inside of the casing is roughly exhausted by a rotary pump, and then the inside of the casing is exhausted to a highly accurate vacuum state by a turbo molecular pump. In this exhausting means, a turbo molecular pump is often installed immediately after the casing containing the filament and the target, and a rotary pump is installed at a subsequent stage of the turbo molecular pump.
[0005]
[Problems to be solved by the invention]
By the way, in recent turbo molecular pumps, turbine blades are often supported by bearings using ceramic balls. This is mainly because there is an advantage that oil can be replenished because sufficiently smooth rotation can be ensured by the grease. However, since this ceramic ball has high electrical insulation, the turbine blade is electrically ungrounded. When the X-ray generation operation is performed in such a conventional X-ray generator, electrons emitted from the filament and scattered in the casing accumulate in the rotating part of the turbo molecular pump, and the rotating part is gradually charged. When the charge amount exceeds the allowable value, a discharge occurs in the turbo molecular pump, and an overcurrent flows to the driving source such as a motor. On the other hand, a safety device such as a current interrupting device is activated to activate the turbo molecular pump. There is a problem of stopping. When the drive source of the turbo molecular pump is stopped, the degree of vacuum in the casing is lowered, so that the X-ray generator cannot be operated normally.
[0006]
The present invention has been made to solve the above-described problems, and prevents the rotating part of the exhaust means from being charged due to electrons scattered in the casing, thereby extending the exhaust means. An object of the present invention is to provide a highly reliable X-ray generator capable of operating normally over time and thereby generating X-rays stably over a long period of time.
[0007]
[Means for Solving the Problems]
In order to achieve the above object, an X-ray generator according to the present invention includes a filament that emits electrons, a target disposed opposite to the filament, a casing that hermetically stores the filament and the target, and an interior of the casing. An X-ray generator having an exhaust means for exhausting air is characterized in that an electron shielding portion that allows gas flow but prevents passage of electrons is provided between the casing and the exhaust means.
[0008]
The electron shielding part can be configured by various structures. For example, the electron shielding part is airtightly provided on the inner peripheral wall surface of the casing, the inner peripheral wall surface of the exhaust means, or the inner peripheral wall surface of the gas passage connecting the casing and the exhaust means, and allows gas to pass therethrough. A structure having a partition plate having an exhaust opening, a support pin disposed around the exhaust opening, and a shielding plate supported by the support pin and having a larger area than the exhaust opening Can be configured.
[0009]
Further, the electron shielding portion can be constituted by a partition plate provided with a plurality of cut-and-raised pieces and an exhaust opening that is paired with the cut-and-raised pieces. In the case of adopting this configuration, it is desirable that the plurality of cut-and-raised pieces and the exhaust openings paired therewith are arranged along the circumferential direction of the plurality of concentric circular trajectories.
[0010]
[Action]
Electrons emitted from the filament collide with the target at a high speed, and X-rays are emitted from the collision portion. The electrons emitted from the filament are scattered in the casing and travel toward the inside of the exhaust means connected to the casing, for example, a turbo molecular pump. However, since the progress of the electrons is blocked by the electron shielding portion, the electrons are completely prevented from jumping into the turbo molecular pump or the like. Therefore, even when the rotating part of the turbo molecular pump or the like is supported by a highly electrically insulating bearing member such as a ceramic ball, the rotating part is reliably prevented from being charged by the collision of electrons. Since the electronic shielding portion is provided with a portion that allows gas flow, such as an exhaust opening, exhaust processing in the casing by the exhaust means is performed without any trouble.

【The invention's effect】
According to the X-ray generator of the first aspect, since the electron shielding portion is provided between the exhaust means such as the turbo molecular pump and the casing, it is possible that electrons scattered in the casing enter the inside of the exhaust means. It can be surely prevented. Therefore, even when the rotating portion of the exhaust means is supported by a bearing using an insulating material such as a ceramic ball, the rotating portion can be prevented from being charged and an excess current flowing to the rotational drive source of the exhaust means. As a result, the X-ray generator can be operated normally without performing maintenance work for a long time.
