受信信号y(t)1005とレプリカy’(t;{an })1008とを比較回路1009で比較し、受信信号y(t)1005とレプリカy’(t;{an })1008との信号間距離d({an })が最小となる相関系列{an }を検出回路1010で検索する。

R0 ={|r(0)|,|r(N)|,・・・|r((F−1)N)|},
R1 ={|r(1)|,|r(N+1)|,・・・|r((F−1)N+1)|},
RN−1 ={|r(N−1)|,|r(2N−1),・・・|r(FN−1)|}
Ti =(rmax,i +r2nd,i )/Si
R0 ={r(0),r(N),・・・r((F−1)N)},
R1 ={r(1),r(N+1),・・・r((F−1)N+1)},
RN−1 ={r(N−1),r(2N−1),・・・r(FN−1)}
Ti=(rmax,i +r2nd,i )/Si

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
The present invention relates to a symbol timing detection method used when a transmission signal is extracted from a reception signal in a receiver used in digital communication.
[0002]
[Prior art]
As the use of multimedia that integrates media such as text, voice, and images has progressed, moving images are transmitted in digital communication. In digital wireless communication that transmits moving images, high-speed transmission is performed. Information transmission has been required.
In a receiver used for this digital wireless communication, it is important to accurately detect symbol timing in order to correctly extract a transmission signal composed of characters, sounds, images, etc. from the received signal. Mobile radio communication used as one means has a problem that reception is particularly susceptible to delay waves.
The radio wave transmitted from the transmitter propagates through various paths and is received by the receiver with different delay times.
In order to improve the influence of this delayed wave, a waveform equalizer is used in the receiver, but the performance of the waveform equalizer depends on the timing of detecting the symbol signal included in the received signal. Timing detection is required.
As a method for detecting the symbol timing, the transmitting side arranges and transmits a known symbol sequence at the head of each frame of the transmission signal, and the receiving side calculates a correlation sequence between the received signal and the known symbol sequence. There is a symbol timing detection method in which the point at which the calculated correlation sequence has the maximum value is the symbol timing.
[0003]
A conventional symbol timing detection method will be described using the symbol timing detection circuit shown in FIG.
In the following description, N is the number of samples per symbol, M is the number of symbols in a known symbol series, and F is the number of symbols per frame.

The correlation sequence of the received signal shown in FIG. 5 is based on a reference of a length of 16 symbols (M = 16) at the head of 192 symbols (F = 192), as shown in FIG. A known symbol sequence is arranged, signal points are arranged with π / 4 shift QPSK, and a delay wave (D / U (ratio of required signal to unnecessary signal) = 0 dB) with a delay time of one symbol period is generated. This is an example of a correlation sequence (N = 4 samples / symbol) when added.
FIG. 6 is an enlarged view of the correlation sequence of the received signal shown in FIG. 5 near the maximum value.

Waveform equalizers that improve the effects of delayed waves can be broadly classified into two types: decision feedback equalizers (DFE) and maximum likelihood sequence estimators (Viterbi equalizers). Consider the problem of the conventional symbol timing detection method when the maximum likelihood sequence estimator is used as an equalizer.

[0013]
[Problems to be solved by the invention]
In the symbol timing detection method according to the prior art, when the symbol timing is determined, the non-main power wave component is removed when the non-main power wave component is removed as shown in FIG. There is a problem that the influence of having done is great.
The present invention solves the above problem and determines the symbol timing so that the ratio of the two main power waves of the correlation sequence is maximized as shown in FIG. An object of the present invention is to provide a symbol timing detection method in which the influence of the removal is reduced.
[0014]
[Means for Solving the Problems]
In order to achieve the above object, a symbol timing detection method according to the present invention is a symbol timing detection method used for a receiver used in digital communication, and a known length M symbol at the head of each frame composed of a plurality of symbols. A received signal having a frame structure in which a series of symbols is arranged is received by the receiver as a received signal, and the received signal is synchronously detected and converted into a baseband signal, and then oversampled N times per symbol (N is a natural number). In a symbol timing detection method for calculating a correlation sequence by calculating a correlation between the digital signal and the known symbol sequence of the digital signal, and detecting a symbol timing from the absolute value of the correlation sequence, the absolute value of the correlation sequence Are divided into N sets of numerical sequences at a cycle of N samples per symbol. Each of the N sets of numerical series for the The sum of the maximum absolute value and the second largest value present before and after the sample point that gives the maximum value is the sum of the distributed numerical series. The ratio of the occupancy is calculated, the correlation sequence having the largest ratio is searched, and the timing at which the searched correlation sequence exists is set as the symbol timing.
[0016]
In addition, the symbol timing detection method of the present invention has a maximum absolute value. And the sum of the second largest values present before and after the sample point giving the maximum value is the sum of the distributed numerical series. The calculation of the occupancy ratio is the ratio of the maximum absolute value and the second largest value to the absolute value of the correlation sequence within the range of (M-1) symbols before and after the sample point that gives the maximum absolute value. The calculated correlation sequence is searched from each of the N sets of numerical sequences, and the timing at which the searched correlation sequence exists is used as the symbol timing.
[0017]
The symbol timing detection method of the present invention is a symbol timing detection method used for a receiver used for digital communication, and has a length M symbols at the head of each frame composed of a plurality of symbols of data of a predetermined number of bits. A transmission signal having a frame structure in which a known symbol sequence is arranged is received as a reception signal, the reception signal is detected by a synchronous detector to be a baseband signal, and the baseband signal is converted by an A / D converter per symbol. N times (N is a natural number) is oversampled into a digital signal, the correlation signal is used to calculate the correlation with the known symbol sequence, and the correlation sequence is calculated by the absolute value calculation circuit. Compute the absolute value of the correlation sequence, store at least one frame of the absolute value of the correlation sequence in a register, Reading at least one frame of the absolute values of the correlation sequence Symbol timing is detected from the read absolute value In the symbol timing detection method, the absolute value of the correlation sequence calculated by the absolute value calculation circuit is sequentially circulated by a cyclic switching unit and distributed to N sets of numerical sequences at a cycle of N samples per symbol. The N sets of numerical sequences thus distributed are stored in N sets × F stages of two-dimensional registers and read out from the N sets × F stages of two-dimensional registers to N sets of arithmetic circuits connected to the respective sets. , The maximum absolute value for each of the N numerical series And the sum of the second largest values present before and after the sample point giving the maximum value is the sum of the assigned numerical series , The correlation sequence with the largest ratio is searched by the maximum value searcher from the respective ratios of the N sets of numerical sequences, and the timing at which the searched correlation sequence with the largest ratio exists exists. Symbol timing is used.

Before describing the embodiment of the present invention, first, a basic description will be given of the symbol timing detection method of the present invention.
The basic block diagram for detecting symbol timing shown in FIG. 1 is used.

The correlation sequences shown in FIGS. 5 and 6 are oversampled N = 4 times per symbol with the number of symbols per frame F = 192 symbols and the known symbol length M = 16 symbols as described above. In this example, the delay wave and the direct wave have the same amplitude and phase, and the delay time is one symbol.

In addition, the broken line in a figure is the correlation series shown in FIG. 6 before distribution.
R of the correlation sequence shown in FIG. 0 Is a correlation sequence obtained by extracting | r (n) | in which the remainder obtained by dividing n by N = 4 is 0 (the same applies hereinafter).
[0027]
The point n at which the correlation series before distribution gives the maximum value max When two main power waves of the correlation sequence shown in FIGS. 13 to 16 are searched within the range 1203 of one symbol before and after 1202, as shown in the figure, the correlation sequence R in FIG. 0 About r max, 0 = 57.36 (m max, 0 = 60), r 2nd, 0 = 7.56 (m 2nd, 0 = 64), correlation sequence R in FIG. 1 About r max, 1 = 51.65 (m max, 1 = 61), r 2nd, 1 = 19.10 (m 2nd, 1 = 57), correlation sequence R in FIG. 2 About r max, 2 = 36.62 (m max, 2 = 62), r 2nd, 2 = 35.78 (m 2nd, 2 = 58), correlation sequence R in FIG. 3 About r max, 3 = 49.82 (m max, 3 = 59), r 2nd, 3 = 18.21 (m 2nd, 3 = 63).
[0028]
Next, m max, i When the sum of the correlation sequences shown in FIGS. 13 to 16 is calculated within the range of M−1 = 9 symbols before and after centering on (i = 0, 1, 2, 3), the correlation sequence R in FIG. 0 About S 0 = 575.5, correlation sequence R in FIG. 1 About S 1 = 577.6, correlation sequence R in FIG. 2 About S 2 = 572.9, correlation sequence R in FIG. 3 About S 3 = 583.0.
Therefore, the ratio Ti of the two main power waves is equal to the correlation sequence R in FIG. 13, as shown in FIG. 0 About T 0 = 0.1128, correlation sequence R in FIG. 1 About T 1 = 0.1225, correlation sequence R in FIG. 2 About T 2 = 0.1264, correlation sequence R in FIG. 3 About T 3 = 0.1167, T 2 Therefore, the sampling point (n = 2, 6, 10,...) Where the remainder obtained by dividing n by 4 is 2 is set as the symbol timing, and 2 is output from the
[0029]
When using a Viterbi equalizer with a maximum compensation delay time of 1 symbol and removing non-main power waves excluding two main power waves, as described above, the larger the ratio Ti of the two main power waves, the greater the non-main power wave. Therefore, the influence of non-main wave component removal is reduced.
The symbol timing when detected by the prior art is n = 0, 4, 8,..., And the remainder divided by 4 is 0. 0 This is the same as the symbol timing when selecting.
On the other hand, in the above example according to the symbol timing detection method of the present invention, T 0 Greater than T 2 Since (maximum value) is selected, a symbol timing that is less affected by non-main wave component removal than the symbol timing detected by the conventional symbol timing detection method is detected.
When the symbol timing detecting method of the present invention detects the symbol timing at which the ratio of the two main power waves is the largest, and uses a Viterbi equalizer that removes non-main power wave components other than the two main power waves, The effect of component removal is minimized.
[0030]
【The invention's effect】
According to the present invention, there is provided a symbol timing detection method in which the symbol timing is determined so that the ratio of the two main wave waves of the correlation sequence is maximized, and the influence of removing the non-main wave component is reduced. be able to.
