上述したように、空調操作装置の操作盤本体には、内外気切換レバーと内外気切換ダンパとを連結するインナケーブルが挿通されているアウタケーブルの端部を固定するケーブル固定部の向きが異なるものを2種類用意する必要があり、右ハンドル車と左ハンドル車との部品共通化を妨げていた。
