Description
【0001】

[0009]
The present invention has been made in view of the above-mentioned drawbacks of the related art, and has as its object to achieve a long life, enable high-speed operation, and easily reduce manufacturing costs. An object of the present invention is to provide an ultrasonic motor that can achieve various useful effects.
[0010]
[Means for Solving the Problems]
In order to achieve the above object, an ultrasonic motor according to the present invention includes an annular stator, a rotor having a circular cross-section inserted in the stator and rotatable in a non-contact manner, and a horn on an outer peripheral portion of the stator. And an ultrasonic vibrating unit coupled with a vibrator, and first and second ultrasonic exciting means having a high frequency power supply, wherein the first and second ultrasonic exciting means are The stator is arranged so as to be spaced apart in the circumferential direction and driven with a time phase difference, so that the stator generates a flexural vibration mode that advances in the circumferential direction of the stator and rotates the rotor in a non-contact manner. Features. Further, the phase difference between the first and second ultrasonic excitation means is a temporal phase difference and is set to 90 °. The separation angle between the first and second ultrasonic excitation means is 3/4 wavelength.
[0011]
According to this configuration, the traveling wave in the circumferential direction is generated in the stator based on the operation of the first and second ultrasonic excitation means, and the rotor is levitated by the radiation pressure of the sound wave in the stator, and is formed into the traveling wave. It is rotated like riding.
[0012]
BEST MODE FOR CARRYING OUT THE INVENTION
Since ultrasonic motors use the piezoelectric phenomenon, they can be applied to measuring equipment that dislikes the generation of a magnetic field from the motor itself, and vice versa even in environments exposed to strong magnetic fields. It can be used without difficulty, and has a simple structure with a small number of parts, so that it can be easily miniaturized.
[0013]
The present invention, in addition to the inherent advantages of the ultrasonic motor, further requires long-life, high-speed rotation, low cost, etc. in designing an apparatus or the like in which the ultrasonic motor is to be incorporated. It is carried out on the condition that the various conditions that cannot be satisfied can be satisfied.

Next, a rotor levitation type ultrasonic motor as an embodiment of the present invention will be described with reference to the accompanying drawings.

As is evident, the rotational speed obtained on the basis of these figures is still practically practicable. Since the numerical values of 90 ° and 45 ° are so-called sharp numbers, they are preferable when designing and manufacturing the rotor levitation type ultrasonic motor for practical use. This 45 ° corresponds to 相当 of one wavelength of the sixth-order flexural vibration.

Here, results of an experiment performed using the rotor levitation type ultrasonic motor having the configuration shown in FIG. 1 will be described. However, the following text is an excerpt from the content announced at the Fall Meeting of the Acoustical Society of Japan on September 29, 1995.
[0035]
<Motor structure>
Two Langevin vibrators with horn (47 kHz) are screwed to an annular stator, and a circumferential traveling wave of flexural vibration is excited in the stator to rotate the inserted rotor. The stator ring is made of duralumin and has an outer diameter of 59 mm, an inner diameter of 50.2 mm, and a depth of 14 mm. The dimensions are the driving frequency of the vibrator so that the sixth-order flexural vibration having radial displacement in the stator ring is excited. Has been determined.
[0036]
Further, a standing wave having a phase difference of 90 degrees in time and space is excited, and a traveling wave is excited by superimposing the two standing waves. / 4 wavelength). The rotor is a duralumin ring with a diameter of 50 mm and a mass of 11.3 g. The gap between the inner diameter of the stator and the outer diameter of the rotor is 0.2 mm.
[0037]
<Vibration characteristics>
FIG. 5 shows the results of measuring the circumferential distribution of out-of-plane vibration on the outer surface of the stator when only one of the two vibrators A and B (5a and 6a in FIG. 1) was excited by a laser Doppler vibrometer. It can be seen that the standing waves whose positions are spatially shifted by 1 / wavelength are excited by A and B.
[0038]
Next, FIG. 6 shows a vibration distribution when A and B are simultaneously excited with a temporal phase difference of 90 degrees. Although the standing wave component remains, it can be confirmed that a traveling wave having a standing wave ratio of about 1.3 to 1.8 is obtained.
[0039]
<Motor characteristics>
FIG. 7 shows the result of measuring the relationship between the vibration speed of the stator and the number of rotations of the rotor. It can be seen that the rotor floats with a vibration amplitude of 2.0 μm in the clockwise direction and 2.8 μm or more in the counterclockwise direction, and starts to rotate and the number of rotations rapidly increases. A maximum of about 120 rpm was obtained. It is considered that the characteristics differ depending on the rotation direction because the magnitude of the obtained traveling wave differs depending on the direction due to a difference in resonance frequency between the two vibrators.
[0040]
<Summary>
We proposed and prototyped a new ultrasonic motor that levitates the rotor, and confirmed that it actually levitated and rotated.
[0041]
【The invention's effect】
As described above, in the ultrasonic motor according to the present invention, a traveling wave in the circumferential direction is generated in the stator based on the operation of the pair of ultrasonic excitation means, and the rotor floats by the radiation pressure of the sound waves in the stator, It rotates so as to ride on this traveling wave.
That is, the rotor rotates without contacting the stator completely. Thus, there is no wear and a semi-permanent life is guaranteed in this regard.
In addition, since the rotation speed of the rotor is not limited by the vibration speed of the stator, it is possible to perform a high-speed rotation equal to or higher than that of a conventional high-speed electromagnetic motor while using a piezoelectric phenomenon. is there.
Furthermore, in the conventional ultrasonic motor, high machining accuracy and surface treatment technology were required for the contact portion, and a special wear-resistant material was required. It is easy to reduce costs.
