BEST MODE FOR CARRYING OUT THE INVENTION
A: Configuration of Embodiment FIG. 1 is a circuit diagram showing a configuration of an embodiment of the present invention. This embodiment is an embodiment in which the present invention is applied to an electronic wristwatch.
[0006]
In FIG. 1, AG is an AC generator, which generates power according to the movement of the wristwatch. Here, FIG. 2 is a perspective view showing the configuration of the AC generator AG and its peripheral mechanism. As shown in the drawing, the AC generator AG includes a
[0007]
The alternating current output from the AC generator AG is rectified by the
[0008]
Next, the
[0009]
In the above configuration, the comparator COM1 compares the potential of the output terminal AG1 of the generator AG with the positive power supply Vdd, and the comparator COM2 compares the potential of the output terminal AG2 of the generator AG with the positive power supply Vdd. The comparator COM3 compares the reference voltage Vref2 with the potential of the output terminal AG2, and the comparator COM4 compares the reference voltage Vref1 with the potential of the output terminal AG1.
[0010]
In the comparator COM1, a switching element S1 is inserted between its output terminal and a positive power supply terminal, and a switching element S2 is inserted between its negative power input terminal and ground. These switching elements S1 and S2 are on / off controlled by the output signal φ N1 of the comparator COM3. The comparator COM3 has a switching element S5 inserted between its output terminal and ground, and a switching element S6 inserted between its negative power supply input terminal and ground. These switching elements S5, S6 are turned on / off controlled by the output signal phi P1 of the comparator COM1.
[0011]
In the comparator COM2, a switching element S3 is inserted between the output terminal and the positive power supply terminal, and a switching element S4 is inserted between the negative power supply input terminal and the ground. These switching elements S3, S4 are ON / OFF controlled by the output signal phi N2 of the comparator COM4. The comparator COM4 has a switching element S7 interposed between its output terminal and ground, and a switching element S8 between its negative power supply input terminal and ground. These switching elements S7, S8 are ON / OFF controlled by a signal phi P2.
[0012]
The above-described switching elements S1 and S2 are turned on / off complementarily. When signal φ N1 is at H level, switching element S1 is on and switching element S2 is off. When signal φ N1 is at L level, switching element S1 is off. The switching element S2 turns on. Similarly, the switching elements S3 and S4, the switching elements S5 and S6, and the switching elements S7 and S8 are configured to be turned on / off complementarily.
Further, the reference voltage Vref1 in the above configuration is set to a value that can determine that the output of the generator AG has definitely entered the positive side (power generation period in which the terminal AG1 is + and the terminal AG2 is-), and the reference voltage Vref2 is set. Is set to a value that can determine that the output of the generator AG has definitely entered the negative side (power generation period in which the terminal AG1 side is-and the terminal AG2 side is +). These reference voltages Vref1 and Vref2 may be set to values close to 0 potential (ground potential) if there is no problem in control.
[0013]
B: Operation of the Embodiment First, when an electromotive force is generated in the AC generator AG and, for example, a potential as shown in FIG. 3A is generated from the terminal AG1, at a time t1 when this potential exceeds the reference voltage Vref1, output signal phi N2 of the comparator COM4 becomes H level (see FIG. 3 (f)). As a result, the switching element S3 is turned on and S4 is turned off. At this time, the NMOS transistor N2 is on. When the switching element S3 is turned on, the gate potential of the PMOS transistor P2 (that is, the signal φ P2 ) is fixed to the positive power supply voltage Vdd and becomes H level, so that the PMOS transistor P2 is turned off. Further, since the switching element S4 is turned off, the power supply of the comparator COM2 is cut off and the comparator COM2 is stopped.
[0014]
When the signal φP2 is at the H level, the switching element S8 is on and the switch S7 is off. Here, FIG. 3 (ヲ) shows the on / off state of the switching element S7. Note that, in this figure, it is assumed that the switching element S8 is on and the switch S7 is off before time t1.
[0015]
When the switching element S8 is in the ON state, the comparator COM4 is in the power supply state, and the output signal φ N2 takes a value corresponding to the result of the comparison operation (comparison between the potential of the terminal AG2 and the reference voltage Vref1). At this time (immediately after time t1), signal φ N2 is at the H level as described above.
[0016]
Then, the voltage value of the output terminal AG1 of the AC generator AG is above the terminal voltage Vdd of the large-
[0017]
At this time, since the signal phi P1 becomes the L level, the switching element S6 is turned off, S5 are turned on. As a result, the power supply of the comparator COM3 is cut off, the comparator COM3 becomes inactive, the gate potential of the NMOS transistor N1 is fixed to the ground potential, and the NMOS transistor N1 is fixed to the off state. As a result, signal φN1 attains an L level, switching element S1 is turned off, and S2 is turned on.
[0018]
Next, when turned time t3 the potential of the terminal AG1 drops below Vdd, the output signal phi P1 of the comparator COM1 becomes the H level, PMOS transistor P1 is turned off. As a result, the above-described charging path is interrupted. If the PMOS transistor P1 remains on even when the potential of the terminal AG1 falls below Vdd, the discharge current from the large-
[0019]
Further, when the signal phi P1 becomes H level, the switching element S6 is turned on, S5 is turned off (see FIG. 3 (Le)), the comparator COM3 starts comparison operation, an output signal phi N1 is in accordance with the comparison result Take a value. The potential of the terminal AG1 is at time t4 in FIG. 3 (b), below the reference voltage Vref1, the output signal phi N2 of the comparator COM4 becomes L level, NMOS transistor N2 is turned off. When the signal φN2 becomes the L level, the switching element S3 is turned off, S4 are turned on, the comparator COM2 starts comparison operation, an output signal phi P2 takes a value corresponding to the comparison result.
[0020]
Next, when a reverse current is output from the AC generator AG and a positive voltage is output from the terminal AG2 (see FIG. 3B), the comparator COM3 compares the voltage value with the reference voltage Vref2. I do. Now, at time t5 shown in FIG. 3, when the potential of the terminal AG2 exceeds the reference voltage Vref2, the comparator COM1 is turned off and the PMOS transistor P1 is turned off, contrary to the case at time t1. . That is, during the period when the AC generator AG is outputting the current in the reverse direction, the roles of the

In the present embodiment, since the present invention is applied to a wristwatch, the following remarkable effects can be obtained. That is, since the generator incorporated in the wristwatch has an extremely small shape, the electromotive voltage is inevitably reduced and the rectification efficiency is deteriorated. Therefore, the electric charge of the large-
[0023]
Note that the same operation and effect as described above can be obtained even if the configuration in which the Vdd side is set to the ground potential in the present embodiment.
[0024]
C: Modifications The application range of the present invention is not limited to the above-described embodiment, and for example, the following various modifications are possible.
(1) Although the above embodiment is an example of an electronic wristwatch, a circuit or the like having another function may be incorporated. For example, a circuit having a radio, a pager, a computer function, or a circuit having a pedometer, a sphygmomanometer, and a mobile phone function may be provided.
[0025]
(2) The control of the power supply of the comparators COM3 and COM4 may be omitted. This is because the comparators COM1 and COM2 require high-speed operation and consume a large amount of current, but the comparators COM3 and COM4 do not require high-speed operation and can use elements with low current consumption. Therefore, in a situation where low power consumption is not so required, the power of the comparators COM3 and COM4 may be configured to be constantly supplied.
