Description
【0001】

[Problems to be solved by the invention]
Generally, when transmitting a high-frequency signal through an optical fiber, transmission characteristics such as a high-frequency signal carrier-to-noise ratio (C / N) greatly depend on the light receiving power of the photodiode. As the light receiving power decreases, the C / N characteristics deteriorate. In the optical fiber transmission system as shown in FIG. 6, the output light power of the

[Means for Solving the Problems]
In order to solve the above problems, the present invention uses an optical wavelength multiplexing technique to increase the number of wireless units that can be accommodated. In the downlink, the base unit increases the total output optical power by simultaneously using a plurality of laser diodes emitting in different optical wavelength bands. The wireless unit uses a wavelength-selective optical coupler to distribute an optical signal in a tuned wavelength band among downstream optical signals. Further, the wireless units are divided into a plurality of groups, each of which is associated with each wavelength band of the optical signal. In the uplink, the wireless units are divided into a plurality of groups. Each group generates an optical signal using a laser diode in a different wavelength band, and further uses the wavelength-selective optical coupler to transmit the optical signal. As the action <br/> above, in the uplink and for the downlink optical fiber line, a plurality of optical signals transmitted with different wavelength bands, only in the group of radio units, each selects the light wavelength band, the optical power The optical power is attenuated due to the distribution or coupling of light. The maximum number of wireless units that can be accommodated in one group is the same as the conventional one, but since there are a plurality of groups, the total number of wireless units that can be accommodated is increased.
