Description

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION The present invention relates to a device for voltage supply in a motor vehicle according to the preamble of claim 1.
The supply of voltage in motor vehicles has hitherto mainly been performed using a single battery which is charged by a generator. However, in modern vehicles with a large number of electrical loads, in some cases one battery is no longer sufficient for the voltage supply. For this purpose two separate batteries are used. The two separate batteries are connected to each other in series or in parallel.
Since most electrical loads in motor vehicles require a regulated supply voltage, a supply problem arises, especially during the starting process. Because the starter has only a small internal resistance, the on-board power supply is loaded by high currents of several hundred amps. The on-board power supply voltage is thus reduced during the starting process to a value such that the normal functioning of, for example, ignition or fuel injection is no longer possible.
In order to prevent this, in a motor vehicle power supply known from DE 3812577, a starter is connected to one of the batteries, whereas a fragile load that requires a constant voltage is Connected to the other battery. The two batteries are optionally supplied with voltage from only one generator or two separate generators.
However, this known motor vehicle power supply has the disadvantage that the connection between the two batteries cannot be disconnected during start-up. Therefore, a drop in the voltage of the battery connected to the starter may affect the remaining onboard power supply.
A further disadvantage of this known on-board power supply is that the rated voltage of the battery connected to the starter is higher than the rated voltage of the other batteries. Therefore, it is not easy to recharge the discharged starting battery by using another battery.
Advantages of the invention In contrast, the device for voltage supply in motor vehicles according to the invention according to the characterizing part of claim 1 has the following advantages. That is, two power storage devices are provided, for example a normal battery for the on-board power supply and a so-called starting battery for power supply of the starter. This has the advantage of being separated from the onboard power supply and the first power storage device. Thus, the voltage drop caused by the starter does not affect other on-board power supply voltages.
If the rated voltage of the second power storage device assigned to the starter is selected to be lower than the rated voltage of the first power storage device, the second power storage device that has been sufficiently discharged after several times of starting attempts can be used. , Can be easily recharged from the first power storage device via the charge / separation module.
Since the charging / separation module is supplied with a large amount of on-board power or a measured quantity, the charging / separation module makes it possible to switch or cut off automatically depending on predetermined parameters.
If a step-up (boost) regulator is additionally provided in the charge / separation module, the starting battery can have a higher or the same rated voltage as the onboard power supply battery. Further, there is additionally provided a means for charging the power storage device for restart trial when the battery for power supply of the on-board power supply is almost discharged.
The present invention is shown in the drawings and is described in detail in the following specification.
