Description
【0001】

[Industrial applications]
The present invention relates to an intake device for an engine having a plurality of cylinders.
[0002]
[Prior art]
As an intake device for a multi-cylinder engine, an intake pipe for the number of cylinders extends from a surge tank having a predetermined capacity and is connected to each intake port, and a fuel injection device is arranged in the intake port or an intake pipe near the intake port, There is conventionally known a surge tank in which a throttle valve for controlling an intake air amount is attached.
[0003]
For example, Japanese Patent Laid-Open Publication No. Hei 5-60024 discloses such an intake device. This intake device is applied to an in-line four-cylinder engine of an outboard motor. A surge tank is arranged on one side of the engine body near a crankcase, and the same number of intake pipes as cylinders is provided from the surge tank. And are connected to the respective intake ports of the cylinder head.
[0004]
Of the four intake pipes, the first to third intake pipes extend upward from the side surface of the surge tank, and then curve downward at an intermediate portion. It extends straight obliquely downward from the bottom surface of the surge tank, and both are arranged along the above-mentioned side surface of the engine body.
[0005]
[Problem to be solved]
In the above engine, all the intake pipes extend from one surge tank, and this one surge tank must cover the entire amount of intake air, so that the capacity of the surge tank increases.
[0006]
As a result, if an attempt is made to increase the capacity of one surge tank, it is difficult to compactly store the surge tank in the engine room.
[0007]
Therefore, there is almost no room for arranging auxiliary equipment around the engine, and the degree of freedom in selecting the arrangement position of the auxiliary equipment in designing is reduced.
[0008]
Means and action for solving the problem
The present invention has been made in view of such circumstances, and in the present invention, in an intake device for an engine having a plurality of cylinders, a plurality of intake pipes respectively communicating with the plurality of cylinders are provided on a side surface of an engine body. along extends to the crank chamber side from the cylinder head side so as to connect between the cylinder head and the surge tank directly, in what these intake pipes are connected to a common said surge tank, said plurality of intake pipes and the intake pipe The surge tank is connected to both sides of the engine main body, and the intake pipe is arranged so as to be closer to one axial side of the crankshaft, and is located on the other axial side of the crankshaft. Auxiliary equipment is arranged in a space formed by the arrangement of the intake pipe and the surge tank arranged on one side in the axial direction, and The surge tank so as to supply the air through the throttle means disposed in the central portion outside of the crank chamber.
[0009]
According to the present invention, since a relatively small number of intake pipes each corresponding to half of the number of cylinders are arranged on both sides of the engine body, the arrangement of the intake pipes is easy, and the effective efficiency of each intake pipe is improved. It is easy to make the lengths equal.
[0010]
Each of the surge tanks provided on both sides of the engine body may be relatively small, each having a capacity corresponding to half of the total intake air volume. There is room for machine installation, and the degree of freedom in selecting the auxiliary machine arrangement position is increased. By properly distributing and installing various auxiliary machines in these rooms, a well-balanced engine can be obtained.
[0011]
In addition, since air is supplied to each surge tank through one throttle means, and it is not necessary to provide a flow control device for each surge tank, the surge tank is further reduced in size, the structure is simplified, and the cost is reduced. descend. Since the throttle means is provided outside the central portion of the crankcase, that is, on the center line of the engine, a balanced intake device can be obtained.
